Majora's Mask New 3DS LE does not include game or Adapter in USA

That's strange, because this was posted in the announcement thread:

What's the deal with the two SKUs then?

oh, lmao. might be australian only then.

Somewhat loosely related but I just got an email saying that my Majora's Mask collectors edition game from amazon will be around on the 17th... I almost always get release date shipping from them by default because of Prime. Wonder if they are just getting it later than expected or something...

Then, congratulations, you have the ability to purchase one when you pick up your 3DS!

You'd rather force everyone to pay for something they don't need simply because you have to add a second item to your shopping cart?

I'd love to know what you think the price difference would be if the adapter was included.

Why stop there then? I already have a stylus or two or three or forty. Why put that in there? I already know how to use a 3DS, why include the manual?

Because they're totally giving us a discount for not including an AC adapter...

Discount? Don't be entitled. More like they aren't jumping the price up by $15 [/metaphorically].

I don't understand how you can defend this, really. I am far from the only person with this situation and GAF is a vocal minority.

Very short-sighted and selfish of you, probably.

When I bought a 3DS, I didn't have any other DS product. I bought the charger separately.

What am I being selfish about, exactly?

I'd love to know what you think the price difference would be if the adapter was included.

Different. Nobody can ever give any more detail than that.

I see that the Majora's Mask bundle does not include the AC but does the MH4 N3DS bundle include the AC adaptor or no?

I'd like to know this as well. I asked in the thread about the bundle but never did get a reply. Are all models adapterless?

Are you serious, dude? Expecting an AC adapter is being entitled?

You've gotta be trolling.

Expecting a Discount is entitled. As opposed to not realising that they'd put the price up instead.

Expecting an AC charger is definitely not. I expected an AC charger when I bought mine, didn't get one, bought one and thought nothing of it.

We're at the point now with Nintendo where expecting to be able to charge our new handheld is born from a sense of entitlement.

Yes, it would appear that all new 3DSes, be it regular or XL, ships without an adapter in every region of the world.

Wait.. The console doesn't come with a charger? Am I reading this right? Does it also run on batteries?

Edited*

Was def going to get one but not sure if this is a deal breaker with no game, and no charger?! (I hope I'm just reading this wrong)

If true fuck anyone who got mad at the vita for not coming with a memory card.

Not that I care to do apples to apples comparisons here, but I think the bigger issue with the Vita was not that it didn't come with a memory card, but that the memory format was a ridiculously expensive proprietary format.

Boy, that is some real shit right there. Maybe Gamestop will let me trade mine in without an adapter...hm. I know a friend who has a few, so I can get one from him.

You read it correctly. No charger. But I'm sure if you look between the cushions of your couch you'll find a few.

I'm sorry but I'm having trouble grasping this:

Fuck the game. So you buy the system, which is powered by a battery, but it doesn't come with the cable to charge that battery?

This is the first electronic device I've seen from a major company that's actually sold without the essential ac adapter.

This is something I would expect from some cheap third party chinese knock off vendor on ebay but not a renown international company like Nintendo.

And people are actually defending this?

Like wow that's some top level kool aid brand loyalty.

-_____-

Have you ever bought a flashlight?

I'm not defending the decision, but it isnt so unusual.

Hopefully Nintendo moves to use USB 3.1 and Type-C connectors for future products, since it seems that the adapter is a bit of a headache for them.

We're at the point now with Nintendo where expecting to be able to charge our new handheld is born from a sense of entitlement.

As above, expecting a Discount for a charger not being present is entitled. The expectation is that the RRP of the unit with the charger will go up.

And if you're the sort of person who passionately cares about Nintendo, then chances are you've already bought a DS product in the past decade, and ergo already have a charger.

If you don't, you spend $15 (AUD, mind you) and buy one separately.

Ooooh Warhammer 40k came 38k years too early in this harsh dystopian world of ours.

Think so, like new 3DS only supporting microSD doesn't bother me. Sony should have made the Vita work with micoSD card because the size is no different.

Edit: Also microSD cards come with a SD card converter, so it is better to buy it outright.

The fact that you think since you already have a charger and are set that nobody else should have qualms with buying it separately when it is literally required for the system to work correctly, haha. I don't really want to argue about something so nonsensical with you, either.

(Maybe look up the definition of selfish.)

You can replace the battery on a flashlight with new batteries pretty easily. You cannot easily replace the battery in the 3DS. You need the adapter to charge it.

I kind of understand the mentality of people most likely already having a charger, but not including it is major bullshit. Pretty much every other major electronic device that has a rechargeable battery comes with the damn charger.

If it is true that the MH4 N3DS bundle has no AC adaptor included, I will just use the old AC adaptor from my red 3DS XL.

Kinda sucks it's not included. I mean, it should be included IMO.

Granted

But to be fair both are stupid, and any who was mad about one not coming in the box should also be outraged here.

Apologies for bringing outside nonsense to the table.

I... didn't already have a charger? Did you not read that part? I bought a new 3DS as my first DS hardware and purchased a charger separately.

The only difference is that adding another item to my shopping cart and paying $15 AUD isn't exactly The Great Depression that everybody is making it out to be.

By your logic you would be ok with the next Nintendo console to come out with 300 dollars and come with no controller. It uses Wiimotes to control. I bet you have many of them lying around.
I am glad the console wars are not changed by your thought pattern.

Apples to oranges. 50 dollars is much different than 10. I can understand the frustration, but at least make accurate comparisons.

I don't have any Wiimotes and have never owned a Wii. The new 3DS has been the first Nintendo hardware I've owned since a Super Nintendo in the 90s. If you're trying to insinuate that I'm a Nintendo fanboy, then you might wanna purposefully run that logic train off an unfinished bridge.

Would I be OK with the console being cheaper if it didn't come with controllers? Sure. Provided you could easily purchase them separately for a fair price.

Because, yes, people will already have those controllers already.

I'd rather people have the choice to purchase components they may not necessarily need than be forced to buy them.

I wasn't talking about your experience, specifically, still going on about yourself eh? The 3DS and 3DSXL both came with chargers if you purchased new, so I don't where you got yours from.

Sorry, usually when people say "you" when talking to somebody it infers you're referring to the person you're talking to. It's a proper English language thing, don't worry yourself too much about it.

If "people" have already bought a 3DS and 3DSXL then "they" (see what I'm doing here? I'm referring to people that aren't us by using the correct word instead of "you") wouldn't need to buy a charger separately.

They aren't being forced to buy a product that would be more expensive simply so it gave them a piece of hardware they may not need.

You do realize we're talking about the charger for the system, right? Not everyone has one, which is what I am trying to get across to you. Kind of like speaking to a wall, though.

I thought we were talking about the Dodge Charger. My bad.

Read the previous paragraph in that post and relate them, please. Don't just bold out a post and disregard everything else. Selective reading and selective comprehension are doing you incredibly wrong here.

I don't understand.

I have a 3DS XL but I don't plan to have both. I'll be selling it or trading it. Therefore losing my adapter. If you're a new buyer no adapter either.

This is their own cost cutting method so the thing isn't more expensive since it is too expensive already.

Hell why even include the 3DS at all since most buyers would already have one. Just sell an empty box.

The flashlight comparison doesn't work in this case. As someone else also stated, you can switch the batteries on the flashlight but you can't switch the batteries on the 3DS.

Maybe these people are planning to switch out the battery on their 3DS with a new one from the Nintendo store every time it discharges just like they do with a flashlight. That's the only way I can imagine someone thinking that analogy makes sense.

I don't care for the game to be included, since the device is the same price as regular editions. No sweat.

But the lack of a charger (and especially the people DEFENDING it) is truly making my head spin. If Sony or Microsoft tried to pull off such a blatantly anti-consumer move, they'd be crucified for it.

Not coming with the game makes a hell of a lot of sense because

Adapter, yeah, that's kind of crappy. I mean, it wouldn't personally affect me, but it's a problem for a lot of other people. Wondering what's going to happen when Nintendo's fantastic supply chain can't keep AC adapters in stock for New 3DS buyers.

Yup.

There are gonna be so many return trips to the stores by parents 2-4 days after purchase. In America this is an incredibly idiotic move
