Just watched this series, and although I think Steven is innocent, I wouldn't go as far as to say the police planted evidence to frame him, unless the person who killed her is somehow tied to police and got help from there.. Whole case makes no sense, and the most coherent theory right now is that Steven did do it... Kratz is a vile scumbag but he's just doing his job. Also something about Steven's lawyer irks me.. Not dean Strang but the taller one. If I was a member of the jury I could not help myself from thinking this guy is full of shit and defending a guilty person..

Glad there was a member of the jury who had to leave on medical emergency though, so we can get a little insight of what happened in there, albeit fucked up..

And it's nice to see Steven is in good hands now. I am confident he will be released. And seeing how her brother handled the case I dont even care if they find who the killer is tbh

Also if they make a season 2 I hope they summarize all the sketchy evidence they ignored in season 1, for the sake of comprehensiveness..fabricating a one sided story is what got Steven imprisoned in the first place :/

You could get insight into the jury without someone getting a medical leave. Once a case is closed the jury is totally free to talk about it.

really? I didn't know that. Has any of the jurors come out and divulged information?

also when they make a movie I know who is being cast as Brendan Dassey

Pretty much every single piece of "sketchy" evidence is BS anyway. But I'd want them to go over the "sweat DNA" they claim was in her car, and explain just how much BS it is.

Zellner filed the motion for post-conviction scientific testing today in Manitowoc County.

You can read the entire thing here:

The highlight for me is the assertion that she has evidence the Rav 4 was found by police on the 3rd, moved on the 4th to Avery's property, and the search party 'finding it' on the 5th. However, there is so much more. For a court document, it is quite compelling to read.

I think Stephen is guilty but railroaded.. . that said this video suggesting his new attorney's angle is to retest everything doesn't fill me with confidence that the conviction will be overturned. This video makes me think they have nothing
You should read the motion. Lots of very suspicious stuff.

I just finished this last night with my wife. Very interesting.

I found this on YouTube and I'm sure its been covered, but it points to a alternate timeline in which Teresa went to Avery's place first before Zipperer's. Not only does the timeline work, but its also what investigators first think too.

So yeah, the whole thing comes off as getting rid of Steven Avery because of the impending lawsuit and settlement.

The whole thing is nuts.

There was lots of suspicious stuff last time as well, but it didn't help. What she needs is actual clear evidence.

Of course she needs 'actual clear evidence'. The state is not going to free Avery otherwise.

I personally think Zellner will deliver. I have read up on her 18 other successful exonerations and I do not believe she would be putting her reputation on the line if she did not have the goods to back it up and get Avery freed.

Either way, by the end of the year Zellner will have to show her hand and all this speculation can stop.

Update [Steven Avery]:

Basically, there will be less delays to get Steven out. This is a huge help! We're still not there yet, but slowly.

Bonus:
"For those unfamiliar, this is the same judge that categorically denied all of Avery's prior appeal requests in 2015." (Comment by Nexious on reddit.)

Thinking about watching this series, one question:
is this the series that framed a guy? I remember something like that, like a confession when he tought the cameras were off

Is there a documentary about this? I haven't heard of it until now, and saw there's a movie based off of it called All Good things. Anyone seen this, and can compare to the real story? Sorry for going off-topic, I'm just very intrigued by cases like these.
The documentary, The Jinx, was made by people who made All Good Things (the director/co-producer and co-producer/co-writer) after Bob Durst (the murderer) contacted the filmmakers about the film and offered to be interviewed.

But I haven't watched All Good Things.

I'm partway through episode 3 and I don't know if I have the stomach to keep it up.
10 episodes of this rollercoaster of fuckery is just too much without really knowing how it ends up.

Amanda Knox was outrageous but you can do it in one sitting. ugh

We should hear more later today.

Edit:

- LA Times: Robert Durst pleads not guilty in 16-year-old L.A. murder case.
Robert Durst, the eccentric New York real estate scion whose brushes with the law have made him repeated tabloid fodder, made his first court appearance in Los Angeles Monday and pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the execution-style slaying of his friend, writer Susan Berman.

Durst, 73, entered the courtroom in a wheelchair, sporting a neck brace, wearing a blue and white striped shirt and khaki pants.

“I do want to say here and now though I am not guilty,” he said in a hoarse voice. “I did not kill Susan Berman.”

Durst is accused of carrying out the December 2000 shooting of Berman, a confidant who had befriended him while they attended classes at UCLA, because she was a witness to a crime.

Back in August, Making A Murderer subject Steven Avery’s lawyer filed a motion to retest key pieces of evidence in his case. Two and a half months later, it sounds like the scope of that testing has finally been agreed upon. From the Twitter account of Avery’s lawyer Kathleen Zellner:

Really hope the evidence is safe and secured and hasn't been dumped/fucked with since.

Zellner just filed a 1000+ page brief. This is it!

The reckoning has come! @ZellnerLaw files a bombshell post-conviction petition in the #stevenavery case. #makingamurderer @MakingAMurderer https://t.co/066uBOVbix https://twitter.com/lifeafterten/status/872495310546907136

Chicago lawyer Kathleen Zellner, who claims she will free Making a Murderer subject Steven Avery, says Teresa Halbach's ex-boyfriend (Ryan Hillegas) is the one who killed her, she alleged in a multi-page petition filed Wednesday, June 7.
Fucking knew it. Can't wait until it's accepted as proof, he gets what's coming for him (along with other shitheads) and we'll have a thread about this.

Always knew something was off about the ex-boyfriend. Even the brother didn't really seem that upset. I wouldn't be surprised if he was involved.

bish gets all the credit :)
Ryan Hillegas killed her, after she began dating his roommate Scott Bloedorn
Jealousy was motive
Hillegas planted the RAV4 and lead the search committee to the Avery yard
Alleges key was planted in Avery's trailer by Lenk and Colburn
Hood latch DNA swab does come from Avery, but is apparently from his groin

Zellner also claims Kratz knew of a piece of evidence that would have shown Avery wasn't guilty, but he ignored and "misplaced" or destroyed it.
