You know, it's funny.
Last night I went to our local wing joint with a group of friends for the $.25 wing night.
There were 12 of us, and they broke us into a group of 8 and a group of 4.
I've been going there all summer, and for years before that as a regular customer. Whenever I went with my friends, however, we always recieved piss poor service and the manager had something negative to say to us every week. Whether he came over and told us to be quiet because we were getting complaints (when there would be 8 of us in a place full of teens because it was wing night) when we weren't half as loud as some of the people around us, or if it was one of the many times he came over to us and told us that we had to tip the waitresses because we hadn't been (which i know is bullshit, because I collected the fucking tip money from everyone).
The place is ridiculous. Once over the summer we waited a half hour before someone even came over to get our drink orders, and another 20 minutes for them to bring us our drinks (not to mention the 15 minutes after that before we got our wings).
Anyway, something similiar happened last night. As I mentioned, there were 12 of us, and they broke us into two groups. We got seated at adjacent tables so that we'd be able to talk to each other. I was in the group of 8 people. The table with 4 people at it had a waitress take their drink orders as they were being seated. Our table got nothing of the sort. The other table got their drinks 10 minutes later, and we still didn't get a waitress. Then the manager happened to be walking by, so we asked if we could get some service. The guy replied with "Shut up, or you'll be out on the pavement. We're very busy tonight. We'll get to you when we get to you." - the funny thing was, it was 9:15PM by this time, and the place was half-empty.
How ridiculous was this? after another 10 minutes, the table with four people at it recieved their wings, and we STILL hadn't had a waitress come by our table to take our drink orders. We had been sitting for 20 minutes, and no one had even come by to see what drinks we wanted. We waited anther 5 miutes, and one of my friends pulled a worker over that he knew and said we hadn't gotten a waiter yet. The kid had a waitress over in 30 seconds. By that time, I was too disgusted to eat there.
I ended up getting up and walking out with my girlfriend, and I won't be taking my business there. And I heard from my friends that the service was terrible. No one even came by to ask if they wanted refills or anything.
Someone justify the mandatory 18% tip that they had to pay last night, because I can't find any reason why anyone would want to pay a tip after such horrid service.
