Chills down my spine.

Three plot points that rocked this episode and made for a great finale:

1.
Lore! The crux of wielding the Dark Sabre. This addresses Bo Katan's journey back into the Animated series they started with when exploring the fall of Mandalore. This is hitting some Arthurian legendesque conflict of whom can hold the blade and what it means. The age old tale of reluctant ownership and what is to come.

2.
Solitary X-Wing. Green Light Sabre. The fighting style of Luke Skywalker. Crushing the final Dark Trooper...He is Anakin's son after all. Bravo Favreau and Filoni!

3.
Boba Fett getting his retribution in order. YES! I am on board for the Book of Boba Fett!

Anyone else get this vibe after the final credits scene?

Well, that's one direction, but this show works for people who aren't really Star Wars fans as well. Anyone can relate to Mando and Grogu's relationship, you don't have to have watched Rebels to understand it. Having something where the main focus is reconciling devided Mandalorians is not interesting to most people. My girlfriend loved this show, but she could give a toss about Bo Katan.

Just do what George did for Natalie Portman and have her change hairstyles/outfits a lot & be involved in an ill-fated romance with Din.

Boom, female audience stays interested. No really it works that way. Not even a meme.

Nah man, gotta use those big computers and shit
The cheap easy thing can't possibly be the best

Really hope some nerds deepfake the finale so I can watch it and not have it ruined by Jeff Bridges in Tron

lol, that Jeff bridges is fucking awful. At least this was far better, and a TV show. Still not anywhere close to cheap deepfakes

I really liked it, but I worry about where it is going to go.

I’m not a Star Wars junkie. I like it, but I’ve never loved Star Wars like the die hards do. I really liked this show because while it has Star Wars lore in it, it was kind of its own thing. It didn’t connect too much with the main story. To me Mando and the child’s bond made this show great. Otherwise it’s just more Star Wars with just a cheaper budget.

as soon as Baby Yoda(I’ll always call him that) was missing for a couple episodes IMO the impact was immediately felt. It missed him.

they have to find a way to unite them again going forward or I think the show will suffer. It’ll still be watchable, but IMO it will lose its charm.

The whole thing was not, because she learned anything, it was because people did not watch her product, did not buy the toys and the only successful product was the one, she had nothing to do with.

She had nothing to do with? Favreau approached her with an idea. She could have thrown that idea in the bin from the get go. But she liked the idea and she didn't just green light it, she got Favreau in contact with Feloni to flesh out the idea and make it even better.

*EDIT*
Did Star Wars Theory really cry over this for an hour?

Please tell me this is true. :messenger_grinning_smiling: Need clips.

That was well done Star Wars storytelling. I am curious what people who complain about lack of character development really mean. Mando was a nameless bounty hunter working for an underground clan at the start of this series. Now he's a father figure with a assorted clan of his own. He just had his purpose in life completed and will have to find a new direction.

My fear is that Disney/KK will again whore this all out and ruin what they did right here. I think an Ahsoka show and a Mando show should be the limits. There's plenty to be done with Ahsoka and the Rebels storyline. The Mandalore storyline has plenty to explore and both of those worlds cross over. To venture forth into Luke and such would involve rewriting the story via undoing the ST. Nobody loves the ST, but less is more in this matter.

It's as if Disney, after having humiliated and murdered my granpa are now pupeteering his rotten corpse saying "Look, it's your granpa. Don't you love him? Didn't you miss him?"

You guys really love your fan service huh? Don't get me wrong, I liked it here too but it's not enough for me to say the episode was amazing. The shoot outs were pretty laughable for example, just scene after scene of them mowing down increasingly incompetent stormtroopers. Compare that with the Death Star bording in ANH.

Regarding the spin-offs, I think I'd rather watch those honestly. Does anyone give a shit about Mando? Just make some well produced stories in this time period, and focus on characters who are actually interesting. I mean, two episodes ago when the kid was captured Mando basically just gave up, until Boba Fett told him they'd help him. In just three episodes he managed to be more engaging than Mando, who might as well be Gordon Freeman. Great FPS protagonist.

Not really. I think Mando is a silly, incompetent character. But, I do think the surprise reveal character in the finale is fine. The entire show's plot has revolved around finding a Jedi to train Drugo.

Amazing. A beautiful ending and a tribute to the first Star Wars movies.

Cant wait for Season 3 and 4. Iam going to watch Ahsoka too. :)

Mandalorian is basically the "Cure" for the lately rotten Star Wars franchise.

Chances are we'll never get to know that, and that's for the better.

OR...

Did Grogu really destroy the temple and everyone there, and place a Force memory in Luke & Ben's mind making them think they were responsible.. his final revenge for Luke's father killing all Grogu's friends!

There are rumors that Ahsoka's series will involve the World between Worlds and multiple timelines. So there's a chance they may wipe the Sequel trilogy from the canon. Again though, take these rumors with a grain of salt, but there is some logic to it.

Disney isn't stupid. They know how much Kathleen Kennedy's feminist experiment with Star Wars cost them. And they're not going to risk alienating the fans they've won back with The Mandalorian's success. Even if they don't retcon the Sequel Trilogy out they'll still steer clear of it in future media.

not tag worthy
That was brilliant new boba fett series looks brilliant they are going to do a world building with all the series Jon Favreau kicked off the Marvel cinematic universe and is doing it with this. He is so money and he doesn’t even know it.

Some where along the line they better bring Star Trek into this. Would be mental.

Man that was so good! Blown away and sad that it’s over. Is season 3 already confirmed or are they gonna continue through the other series?

Dude, did you not notice there were 4 kick arse women in this episode? They'll continue to push female characters and they will not wipe the sequels from cannon. Why would they? They made billions of dollars on the sequel trilogy.

Let me guess? You are getting your rumours from the circle of websites that hate the sequel trilogy?

Sorry. Guess I haven't sucked too much of Kween Kathleen's vagine like you have.

Sure the sequels made a ton of money, but the toy sales BOMBED. Who the hell wants to buy a figure of Rose Tico or *blech* Admiral Holdo? Merchandise sales is where the real money is at you know?

And no, I don't mind female characters being pushed into the limelight. But characters like Ahsoka Tano, Cara Dune, Fennic Shand and Bo Katan are all likable and have had decent screentime to build them up. They went overboard with Rey which is unfortunate because I like Daisy Ridley.

You may get a break from Din and have a season of Boba, then match up on Mandalore after Ahsoka's season. (Which might bring in Sabine, to complete the major Mandolore characters.)

My culture war horseshit prediction:
Someone will have a hot take that the man ends up with the Darksaber that the female character wanted. However, they'll ignore that the raiding party was all women and that those characters.. people mostly liked. They are also mostly older women. It's basically a lot of Ridleys with no Reys.

Good finale for the season, but I'm worried about the show going forward. Losing Grogu is going to be a serious hit to the soul of the show, they'll have to up their game to overcome that.

Luke and R2 was a great surprise, both handled better in that 2-3 minutes than the entire sequel trilogy. You should be embarrassed by that, Disney.
