Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Pick on the junior here, but I actually enjoyed the start of the Zombie arc. The training for the world war was pretty dumb (He'll never catch on to us hiding him away in a giant moving turtle, lolz), but I really enjoyed the story porn part in the exposition. Getting to meet all these characters we've had hints dropped about was pretty neat, and made for a lot of sweet battle scenes, at least. The kage fights were interesting to begin with, before it became all about Madara hax.

I dunno... it wasn't all completely terrible. Yes, the pacing blew. Yes, it switched back to pointless stuff way too often. Yes, Kabuchimaru/Itachi was horrible. Yes, the Obito reveal made everyone slit wrists. But it did start off in a good direction, just like Punk Hazard in OP, and the Quincy War in Bleach.

All around, I'd argue it was a resounding year of "HOLY SHI... meh."
Perhaps the Zombie War part might have passed muster if Kabuto had only resurrected a small number of persons in order to harken back to the Orochimaru/Third Hokage fight which might have been neat. But instead Kishi thought it was a good idea to resurrect 10 billion dudes and give Shikamaru a fight against Asuma, etc. Unnecessary.

So this is where those awesome avatars are coming from! Who is making those lovely things? Also anybody here read Regatta? I was wondering what people thought of it.

Neoriceisgood is making them.

Just give him a character and a reference and watch the magic unfold.

Just hope we don't get too many random people to show up to ask him for things here just because.

Though, I suppose that's his choice in the end.

Dear God, where is the latest Silver Spoon? Maybe I'll have to look for the RAWs :(

We must suffer before we can witness Hachiken suffer.

As long as they can name an actual manga/anime character
they'd like, they probably deserve to be part of the mangagaf avatar trend.

But I'm not a random person D: Also nobody reads Regatta here?

Didn't meant to imply that.

And dunno on Regatta. Don't think I've seen it brought up and I haven't read past like the first volume awhile back.

Yeah, I figured the character limit to manga/anime would limit it somewhat. Dunno. Just didn't want people to hassle you for 'em :x

I am all for you getting a new avatar.

*shivers* That one you have is creepy as hell....

I love this avatar hahaha, I find it so hilarious. But Neo's are just too amazing to not ask for one!

Ah alright, what was your impression of the manga?

Basara

Man, the only way you could tell this is the same writer as 7 Seeds is that she loves Chekov's Gun. She's really good at making you forget about it, too.

No Vagabond?

Vagabond has really beautiful art but the story has serious confusion issues going on. Even Inoue admitted that he didn't know where he was going with Vagabond for a while. Pretty much the definition of losing sight of itself, which is a shame. REAL is doing better, though. Like I said before, if you like highly detailed art with a lot of visual metaphors then Kokou no Hito is a slightly better overall work marred only by some odd pacing choices.

In hell with all the other loosely-story based job subculture manga.

Ask me which Shakespeare novel is best
namechange to neoriceisgod tbqh

that would make him like, the second god. me being the first

I'm the 0. Who said the gods went from 1 - 2?

Can't argue with that. I guess my samurai bias sometimes gets the best of me.

Kokou no Hito is a pretty awesome manga, made me look up the real Buntarou, but then I read what happens to him. Hit me right in the feels.

Do you know what's the release schedule for Vagabond is?

I try not to pay attention to release schedules. Behind-the-scenes scanlator stuff gets really annoying. Except the guys that did the first 2/3rds of Wolf Guy. They were the best.

Masamune-kun's Revenge 2 - Should I be shocked that the only other character introduced so far is the one who knows his past? Though, things would be a lot better if the shy girl just went full on murder mode. I'm expecting her to fall for the guy soon anyway. Even if she'd be better as full-on psycho. I just want a psycho girl. Is that so much to ask?

I give it maybe 10 chapters before he straight up falls in love with the main girl (...again?). And then HILARIOUS MISUNDERSTANDINGS happened when they were younger and it was always mutual love because manga logic.

That said, I find it weird for the guy to be all "OH NOS IF THEY LEARNED I WAS FATS THEY WILL MOCK ME?!"

Yes I'm apparently following this.

Ah alright, what was your impression of the manga?

The art is a little rough. That's my biggest critique. I'm not that interested in rowing either so it was hard to care so much about the race in the first volume. The drama and tension between the main pair is alright but I wonder how long the whole "DEAD BOYFRIEND" angle can be played between the two. Probably right up to the end.

That said, the main reason I never read much of it is that there were only two (of six) volumes available at the time and I didn't feel like going on without an end in sight.

Well shit, in that case, if you're making more I'd like to request Roy Mustang from FMA. That or Maes Hughes. I don't think I've seen either taken from my lurking. :x

I was hoping for a mindfuck factor with these zombies but it hardly happened (when it did i felt it was already done before).

This is exactly why I ask, I need more!

I actually meant in Japan though, does a new chapter come out every month or is there some Togashi situation with it?

I do, it's alright.

Ah I see, I wanted to read it since I actually get a kick out of looking at manga with some more obscure content, or at least something I have very little knowledge about like bull fighting with Golondrina. I think I'll at least check it out then.

Good Ending 155
Finally caught up with Good Ending. Started to dislike after the last 10 chapters but it's finally ending. Kinda sad because I need to find a new manga now but happy that it's finally ending since I thought it was going longer than it should have. I guess I'll catch up on Kimi no Iru but I couldn't stand reading it after chapter 195...

So now I need a new manga that is slice of life or drama, something like GE or Kimi but better than those two. The only good manga I've been reading is Liar Game...

I feel your pain. I didn't expect it to go full porno, though. At least it was short.

In retrospect, should've figured it out based off the synopsis!

I was hoping for something kind of charming and inn--wait, did I really expect that from the Elfen Lied author? CAN ONLY BLAME MYSELF.

Whatever, will still read.

If that sort of stuff makes you tear up chapter 25 will make you bawl :D

Just read it.
Yeah, I think Taka is the most tragic character so far. Guy just doesn't catch a break. 15 years all on his own, and when he finally meets people, they decide to leave him? Poor bloke. Though, in all fairness, from Team Summer B's POV, I would have been just as suspicious. But this is why the mangas so great.
