Yes, the light novel.

I wish I could go through the translation and just delete the words 'panties' and 'festival.' Completely.

Maybe it's bad writing or maybe it's just a bad translation, but there are some really clunky conversations here.

Despite all that, I liked it. No idea what the anime was like in this regard, but it's actually paced quite well, and the adventure moves along at a steady clip from location to location, battle to battle. Just like certain periods of the buff/nerf cycle in WoW, druids are overpowered and if hot stacking could somehow sustain a 71-level difference, the American-based developers better get the nerfhammer ready.

The most unrealistic thing about it is how, for a MMO with twenty million players, a class with a wide range of CC options, dots, and holywtfburst (nerf thorn pls) could ever be considered second rate.

Nah. When playing the game (not sucked into the game), some of the enchanter spells are pretty worthless. Like a ball of light? lol. The light summon is much better and lasts longer. Thorns while good also has like 10+ sec cd and cannot be used to mob. Aoe abilities will probably be most sought after anyway.

Theoretically speaking, MMO classes usually split themselves into specific roles. A poor guardian will specc completely into vit and be a pure tanker, dealing next to no damage. Swashbuckler/samurai seems to be agi based atkspd characters, which can take turns tanking. Archers probably boast 100% accuracy and hence focus on dps. Mages have high matk and aoe mob spells, druids can stack dot healing on tank, kannagi can block damage (OP nerf pls), cleric has a passive auto heal when nearby unit is damaged (OP nerf pls).

For a limited party size, might as well invest into 2 rotating tanks, dps/mage chars to tackle high def/mdef mobs, either a druid to stack dot heals on tank, or a cleric to auto heal tank, and a kannagi to block hits in case squishies are targeted.

An enchanter as basically a buffer with no heals and no dps is a waste of a party slot.

I think it's a harem involving Oda Nobunaga, witches, another world, and lots of "plot."

really, it's mostly just "plot" and I may or may not have made up the backstory.

This is a world of never ending war. A world where witches are shunned and pursued by humans, which is about to be overthrown. One day a man fell. What annoys me is that it's redundant.
The full title is "Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma". Or "Food Wars: Soma's Food Wars"

I would have gone with "Soma's Culinary Battles"

What actually funked me out a bit in Elder Tales is that the tank enmity skill draws pvp enmity too. Or at least it has consequences for those who don't whack the tank when he uses it.

Need more gaming manga

Protagonist. I'm not even sure I can say it makes more sense in the story. Something about a guy falling into a lake into another world and only remembers the "-naga" of his name yada yada blah blah tits and ass.

Er, that's precisely what he's done? Like, it's pretty apparent it's Nobunaga in the story. Overarching plot will just be shaping up the witches so they're not so stupid in warfare and go out and end the war.

The plot is pretty crazy, of course.
A group of girls kill guys doing revenge contracts ordered by other women, doing an harem for the guy and then killing him. But, this shadowy group will find another shadowy group, an underground anime production company that use corpses to make stop-motion "anime", using the bodies of the seiyuus.
A very dark satire with the problems in the industry. From the stupid tropes used like "ojousama" or "tsundere council president" to the voice actress real persona being used up as part of the anime marketing and idols being used up for them and otakus that confuse reality with fiction. Though it's very scatter shot and the balance between parody and serious story varies wildly.
