Mine's not too interesting. It just stays in Spain for a fuckload of a longtime. I forget what happened prior to that.

Wow, pretty cool! $100 is pretty expensive, though... But at least it comes with the DVD which is nice, and you'll be able to access specific results based on your DNA. I might just do it.

I don't totally understand. Does the DNA only identify my 'origins' and not, for instance, where some of my ancestors lived 500 years ago?

I'm not sure myself, but it sounds like participants would get some kind of a path as to where our ancestors lived 500 years ago and earlier:

This is not a genealogy test and you won't learn about your great grandparents. You will learn, however, of your deep ancestry, the ancient genetic journeys and physical travels of your distant relatives.

To be clear—these tests are not conventional genealogy. Your results will not provide names for your personal family tree or tell you where your great grandparents lived. Rather, they will indicate the maternal or paternal genetic markers your deep ancestors passed on to you and the story that goes with those markers.

I'm interested in it, but really they could basically make up any story and I would probably buy it. "Gee my ancestors came from the middle east 20,000 years ago -- wow!" Like there's really no way to prove or disprove it so what the hell would I know really?
