I want this movie so badly... My daughter (18 months) loves Pixar movies, she is addicted to Monsters Inc., A Bugs Life, and Finding Nemo...

I cannot find Toy Story or Toy Story II, she will probably love The Incredibles and will want to watch it every day.

So that is great for me... I loved the retro look and sound of the movie... I loved the feel of the movie, it was a great "super-hero" movie.

Did Disney discontinue Toy Story I & II from DVD? Bastards...

Not that I do not love the movies above, but they are getting repetitve day-in and day-out...

She is not into Shrek I or II yet... and she doesn't like non-computer-generated cartoons that much... WEIRD... she is a graphics-whore at 18 months...

I went into The Incredibles expecting a good well-written story and some great humour and I got that, but I was floored by how utterly amazing the action sequences were. The scenery was just astonishing (the ship entering the underwater hanger) and the animation was all top-notch but the fights were just head-explodingly good. No talk of awesome super hero movie fights could be complete without The Incredibles in the top 3.

Yes, unfortunately, all the Toy Story films and their related sets were discontinued May 2003, so they're probably hard to find at stores and they're probably expensive from any online secondhand sellers. It's really quite fucking lame how Disney discontinues their good stuff in relatively short time periods. It might be true that it helps revenue and allows them to efficiently milk consumers, but fuck, it's lame. I missed grabbing Snow White and Beauty and the Beast earlier and now they're apparently on 10 year moratoriums. So I can either wait a long time or pay a fortune now. Fucking retarded. Sometimes I can't believe I'm a Disney stockholder.

Of note, The Lion King and all its related sequels were discontinued in January so they might start getting sparse in the coming months.

Edit: Oh, and The Incredibles kicked absolute ass and I'll be grabbing it as soon as possible. I was smiling for the whole duration both times I saw it in theater. Truly great fun.

On a related note, I just saw Shark Tale the other day, and think it's disappointing that the first crappy CG movie has been made. I always hoped that as long as you put all that work into the visual aspect of the film, you'd at least make the film itself decent, like all the CG animated major motion pictures until then, but I guess not. Robots looks to be the second...

Oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

well not really...yet

Guess you missed Ice Age.

Don't forget Antz.

I actually liked Ice Age a lot. I could have gone without that fucking Scrat every 20 minutes though.

As for the Incredibles....I'd been hyping that movie for atleast a year to my friends...they all thought I was gonna be sooo dissapointed when I finally saw it...

Nope. It blew me away. I never thought it would be as good as it was. Meet my expecttions, yes, but blow them away? I've got the movie on my laptop and I watch it whenever I've got extra time. I cannot WAIT for March 15th. The movie alone would warrent my $30, but it has a four-and-a-half minute short, AND a 15-minute alternate intro? SOLD!

15 minute alternate opening? Sweet if true.

Just went and checked the features again and I swear there's more than I remember when this was first announced. We seem to be getting TWO commentary tracks, one with Brad Bird and John Walker and a separate one with the key animators. Hmm, and a commentary track for Boundin' and a feature on its creator, Bud Luckey! Plus all the other goodies: deleted scenes, bloopers, behind-the-scenes stuff, new Jack-Jack short, a new cartoon with Mr Incredible and Frozone, trailers, etc.

This set's going to rock, big time.

I found The Incredibles incredibly shallow :lol

I like Pixar's movies, so to me The Incredibles was a let down. I wish they let Jackson play a bigger role in the movie, even though he was the stereotypical black guy, he was the funniest IMO.

Anyway regarding computer animated movies, Shrek 2 >>> *. I haven't seen Toy Story 2 though, and I saw the original when I was kid. I'm probably growing out of these movies. Shrek 2 rocks because it has jokes for adults as well as kids.

I don't want to risk a ban by using the outlawed five letter acronym, so instead I'll just type a period to indicate that I believe the below statement to be true.

Incredibles was good, but not as great as le people d'internet hyped it up to be. Finding Nemo still rules supreme.

I went to WAGs boutique and all I got was a sniff
The incredibles was incredible. Every aspect of it was so good, but it couldnt beat the greatness of Toy Story I and II and no animated movie ever will, especially the upcoming Cars, which looks like a shitty film for NASCAR fans.

Nemo is overrated trash. Sure, it's a decent CG flick, but there's very little actual plot development, and almost all of the humor seems aimed at 10 year olds. It may be "touching" or whatever dumb phrases you want to associate with it, but the story was so uneventful that I found myself really not caring what happened next. Oh yeah, and the characters are also very one-dimensional (HEY LOOKS SHE'S FORGETFUL BUT KIND! AND OH MAN THE STONER SURFER TURTLES! *gag*)

The Incredibles, however, shows Pixar in top form, the likes of which we haven't seen since Toy Story 2. The humor appeals to people of all age groups, and every one of the main characters has a unique personality with quirks and flaws that make them very easy to relate to and sympathize with. The action scenes were amazingly choreographed, while retaining a high level of humor throughout. Not only that, but the entire universe it took place in just seemed so complete and thought out.

In short, Nemo sux, Incredibles rulez. :p

Finding the Toy Story films on DVD IS a bitch...I got my hands on the Toy Box (Both Movies and a DVD of bonus features) before they put them in the vault, so I can't complain. Great films.

The Incredibles is not my favorite Pixar film. When I left the theatre, I wasn't super pumped about what I had seen or anything of that nature. I had been thoroughly entertained, for sure, but I left feeling like something was missing. I do not know what that was, so maybe on a second viewing it will become clear that it was missing something, or that I was simply tired at the time (Late show, running on little sleep, sleeping in a hotel, etc.).

Shrek >>>>>> Shrek 2, Toy Story 2 > Toy Story, Finding Nemo > The Incredibles.

Just my opinion.

So basically you like all the Pixar/Disney movies. :D

I'm pretty much like you... although Bugs Life isn't something I can watch over and over.

Shrek is fucking garbage. I found it kind of funny, but there was like no depth to it at all. Just a bunch of terrible pop-culture jokes from 6 months prior, ROFL WOFL!

I like Toy Story 1 & 2 more than any of the other CG films by far, but I admittedly have not seen The Incredibles yet. I didn't realize that it was that hard to find TS on DVD now... *hugs his copy of The Ultimate Toy Box*

I thought Shrek was *terrible*, but surprisingly found Shrek 2 to be tolerable - averageish but still much better than the original.

Shrek was 'meh', but there's no way it'll hold up over time as well as any Pixar movie. Shrek 2 being the highest grossing cartoon is a fucking travesty.

I am not only a Disney/Pixar lover... I really like Shrek, Shrek II and Ice Age is not bad...

I have no interest in seeing A Sharks Tale...

I love Incredibles! Seen it twice in theatres, and I can't wait to see it on DVD. The plot, characters, set pieces, action sequences, domestic sequences (dinner table), even values mesh perfectly. This is the definative kid's movie, that all kids have to see because it presents them the world I want them to know exists.

Are anime releases by Disney (i.e. Spirited Away) prone to the "discontinued" syndrome too?
To my knowledge, no. None of them appear to have been discontinued and I've never seen anything about plans to do so.

I guess that Shark Tale isn't the first bad CG movie, but it is the worst. I'd say that only Shrek 2, Final Fantasy, and Antz join it in that category, however. All Pixar movies have been great, and Ice Age and Shrek weren't that bad, either.
