WEDNESDAYTON CONFIRMED:

SONY, 15th holding place t Shaun business explanatory meeting from 3 o'clock in the afternoon

I'm expecting to see a significant delay in Japan, with the possibility of the USA and Europe launches pushed to 2007.

Ohhhhh I see now. So those Untold Legends pics are supposed to be released on the 15th, and that's why GAF had to take them down.

That basically confirms we'll see stuff. Could it be...a Wednesdayton that actually happens? YES :lol

It’s not a delay. If Sony were planning to delay the console then why would they release PR and media for a launch game? I bet they will announce the date, price, show the "Playstation Network" and launch lineup.

I am expecting another conference to come and go without so much as a peep about the PS3, and then GAF will look to another day within a week or so as the possible big bang. And then another week to ten days after that... and again, and again, until finally we have reached E3.

In entirely unrelated news, these weekly Sony anticipation parties are bordering on Nintendopian levels.

(I've had a change of heart on price, HDD built in+WiFi+BR and the most powerful architecture? If MS can charge ~$700 for all that stuff....I don't see Sony being shy)

Well, Sony usually produces magic, but I think everyones expectations are waaaaaaaaaay too high. Everyone wants so much - but don't dare price it above the X360! If they do deliver at $399 I'll be astounded.

Then you are missing the point, this isn't another "show" or "Expo" with expectations of PS3 exposure only by those with hope, but rather we're led to believe it's a specific Sony PS3 press conference.

Not having PS3 news at a PS3 press conference would be rather stupid wouldn't it? :P

Neah that PR for Untold Legends was really full blown, nothing half assed. They might delay the console and release PR's & media for all the games they have shown so far.

Main thing is that they have remained quiet for too long and its time to come out of the closet and show us what the fuck they have doing for the past six months.

prediction: Sony has kicked Nvidia out of the PS3 and replaced RSX with their own next-gen Graphics Synthesizer with lots of embedded DRAM on a 25,600-bit wide bus :lol

I actually wouldn't be completely suprised if PS3 slips to 2007 in the US. I don't think it would happen, but I don't think it's completely out of the picture either. It's really hard to say since we really don't know what's going on with the delay, if any. I'd almost like to see it happen just to see GAF implode :lol

japan - october 06
na - november 06
europe - first march 07, then september 07

which would be good, I should have enough money by then to buy one at launch :D

There's too much on the line for Sony to price themselves out like that. I'm not saying it isn't a good likelihood, but that's camp switching news for me. I can't afford a 500 dollar system AND games all at once, and so that means I'm more likely to buy a 360 at its first price drop then a PS3 at its first.

Gotta tow the line, I guess. Revolution ftw :P

A presser? Really? Meh, I stopped paying attention months ago. Maybe this time will be the time after all. It's past time for me to get a new aluminum foil hat anyway. I still think you'll all be sitting here on Thursday looking for the next opportunity.
 
My guess?

Delay. The news will be distracted with flashy realtime graphics plus a plethora of pre-rendered (or canned sequence in-engine) clips from previously unshown games. They will supplant the PS3 void with a bunch of new PS2 games like GT:OE and announce the PSP Connect service along with Tekken:DR and Loco Roco.

To round off the debacle (and as a justification for the delay) they will announce the price around the equivalent of $329.99 and possibly including a HDD.

-no announced US price because they are going to try to charge higher in JPN and dont want to let people see the reverse parrallel with the 360 pricing
-possibly a new eyetoy product for ps3 (revmote am cry omfg.. but not really)
 
I don't think the PS3 is coming out this year in NA. What they'll do is drop the price of the PS2 for Christmas. The PS3 will sell out no matter what time of the year it is.
 
If this wednesdayton aswell as gdc doesn't reveal online plans aswell as giving hint towards launch period(quarter) I will be abit dissappointed.

It's gone WAY beyond Nintendopian levels...it's been incredible really. And I'm not convinced we'll learn that much more on Wednesday. But I do expect to see something.
 
i have a very important question for mods:

if Boxguy media is not shown and apparently burried by Sony, does that mean we still can't post any Boxguy images??

My bets:

-Untold Legends will barely be shown
-Tekken trailer of actual Tekken game
-DMC4 trailer
-Trailer of a game we don't know about (but all want)
-Online plan hinted at
-Japanese price revealed
-Launch MONTH, not date, given
 
I still have doubts about what will come out publicly from this event.
I was thinking that since Untold Legends will support the new Sony online service according to the leaked press release of a few days ago,probably we'll get news on the PS3 online service.
I also expect Sony to tell third parties attending the event the launch date and price of PS3 in Japan,but again if those infos will be made public is definetly not sure.
