WHAT A DAY.

1) Kansas goes down.

2) Way to go OSU on beating Illinois.

3)HOW ABOUT THE GATORS. I knew they were going to beat Kentucky.

4) And what a final between Duke and UNC. I didn't like the outcome, but what great a basketball game.

March Madness has already begun. :D :D :D

Fuck me, I picked Florida, ohio st, and missouri to win, but put no money on it. would have been 2000-3000 payoff with a parlay

Awesome awesome day.

What a game between UNC/Duke. Shame the dookies had to choke so bad the final 1.5 minutes of the game, 'cause I was rooting for them. I will not be shocked at all if UNC ends up being #1 tomorrow. So much media has a hard on for anything UNC, and with the Illini losing it probably helps.

KU- Haha. Keep it up Self and Co., at this rate you'll be lucky to land a 2 seed.

Kentucky- Pretty neutral about this team, but it's certainly good to see another top5 team lose.

Oklahoma State!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!

After that, I don't care too much.

I like Illinois (very similar to us, as a matter of fact).

GOOOOOOOOOO POKES!

Thanks for letting us have our bid, and letting us sweep you this season!

Love,
Texas

HEELS BITCHES!!!!! This was the most dramatic day of college basketball ever, and it's still just the regular season.

We let you have the bid--our team played horribly, and UT got some lucky breaks (Taylor's 3 at end of half, LOTS of no-calls, an amazing number of fouls called on our team, and that's before the "must-foul" period of the game).

I guess if this teaches us one lesson though, it's that our team fucking NEEDS Joey Graham in the game to win. I knew we were finished when he fouled out.

I normally hate UT, but I'm rooting for you in the Big XII tourney (until you play us, of course :p).

Florida was favored. Wouldn't have been much money there.

How could Kansas even be in the running for a #1 seed after dropping four games out of their last 6!?!

They can't. And BC can't be without winning the Big East tournament either. Don't listen to ESPN.

http://www.collegerpi.com/

1 Kansas 22-5 0.6651 1 0.6106 7 7
2 Wake Forest 26-4 0.6566 7 0.5739 4 4
3 Illinois 29-1 0.6542 54 0.5465 1 1
4 North Carolina 26-3 0.6526 22 0.5657 2 2
5 Duke 22-5 0.6510 3 0.5917 6 6

Because they've been no. 1 in the RPI all year long. I still think they will be a no. 2, but they wouldn't have lost that game at MU if Langford didn't get injured. They were up 11-3 when he went out. Then piece of crap Mizzou hit 8/10 3's in the first half despite the fact they are the worst % 3-shooting team in the big 12.

Go Illini Go!

Surprising to see Notre Dame, BC, and Depaul bow out so early. I don't think Depaul is in at this point.

Thumbs up to the illini comment. I'm hoping Illinois got that loss out of their system and blow through the Big Ten tourney. (*Crosses fingers)

All that does is prove how worthless RPI rankings are. My original question still stands... losing four of your last six games would be enough to knock most teams out of the top 25... unless you're Duke, and in that case you would rise two three spots...

Good luck to all the teams that aren't in Kentucky's bracket (except for loserville)! GO CATS!

Illini taking care of Northwestern while Clemson is giving NC a much tougher time than most thought they would, as I expected on both counts.

I can't be the only one following the action? I'm at work FFS and I'm following the games, c'mon now folks, this is like the best month for the best sport in the land.

The lack of any love for College BB is severly disappointing on this forum.

Nothing would make me happier than to see my boys take down the fucking tarheels. I don't think there are more obnoxious fans in the ACC. Only 8 more minutes to go...

There is hardly any college BB talk on these forums. Not sure why.. during most of the season it gets no threads. I went to lunch at a sports bar, and watched part of MU v OU and
Clemson V UNC

Clemson is making it tough. According to ESPN.com they are up 13 with 8 minutes to go! Let's see if Roy Williams cries!

Ugh, if UNC wins I'm knocking over a magazine rack!

Is anyone actually watching the broadcast? I'm just checking the scoreboard at ESPN.com

Shows Clemson 77, UNC 72 3:40 in the game left

I'm not, i'm at work just watching the live score updates. And it's delayed for me as well.

:(

Better than not being able to follow at all though.

I'm thinking of taking off next Thurs/Fri, there's no way i'm gonna be able to get work done. :lol

Well I'm keeping my eyes on the SEC tournament. Tennessee whooped ol' Arkansas last night. Damn I hope UT gives UK a run for their money (I don't think UT got blown out in their past two games against UK). :p Then Ole Miss "upset" SC. I figured SC would win and maybe if they had called that 3 pointer a 3 pointer then they could have pulled it off in OT. Oh well. Georgia lost to MSU as expected. And Vandy lost to Auburn in the late, late game which was a bit of a surprise to me. So far SEC West is 3-1 against the SEC East in the tourney which I guess isn't too surprising since the West is more balanced top to bottom than the East.

Of course the games I'm most interested involve UF. I hope the Gators can beat MSU (tip off is in an hour or less) but I'm a bit leery of this game. UF lost to MSU already once this year and they don't match up so well with MSU. Maybe if UF can maintain their new defensive intensity and actually find a solution to their lower offensive output of late they can pull off a win. But then UF would probably play Alabama next (making the big assumption that they can win against MSU) which would probably be a revenge game for Alabama since UF had such a lopsided win against them at the O-Dome in Gainesville. And finally if they won those two games they'd probably play UK (and I’m even more doubtful about UF pulling off two victories in a row against UK). So that'd be a pretty tough stretch of games for UF to win and I'm not sure UF can pull that off. But of course I hope they do. ;-)

As soon as they got that phantom call with 2 minutes left I knew the game was over. God I wish we could get some neutral refs for these games. That being said we still shouldn't have given up our lead that easily.

:( damnit.

I took off next Friday already :lol I just wont do anything at work Thurs afternoon.

edit: the Tigers have crept within 2 of the Sooners tho. They were down 17 when I was at lunch but then made a bit of a comeback.

Bubble Buster game is starting in the Big Ten tournament, Indiana VS Minnesota. Indiana needs this game to get in, and Minnesota is probably already in.

Actually UNC is up by 2 with 56 seconds left. Since I live in ACC country I get to watch it on TV.

I work at UNC, so unfortunatly I'm not able to watch the game just this moment - though I spent part of lunch watching Clemson hover at 10 points ahead. It wasn't appetizing...

...but, we pulled it out in the end and beat Clemson by 7 points. Suddenly I'm ready for a snack! How 'bout them Heels!

I hope Indiana wins, I like Mike Davis and I see nothing wrong with getting 5 Big10 teams in. Wish I could see the game, should be great.

I watched the game also; please don't try to cop out with the "phantom call" bullshit. The better team won, period.

Oh my God! It's a UNC fan! Run! :p

Heh, I'm at Duke but I don't like Duke or the ACC. Damn it sucks to be an SEC fan in ACC territory :p Congrats to UNC on the win. It's all pretty meaningless at this point and I doubt even a loss to Clemson would have prevented UNC from getting a #1 seed esp. with all those upsets this past Sunday. Hell, even BC lost recently so I don't see any other team taking #1 seeds from UNC or Illinois. I have been somewhat corrupted by being in ACC territory and will root for NC State to pull off a victory against Wake Forrest. I feel sorry for NC State and I get tired of reading all of these negative sports editorials by Tudor in the News and Observer about Sendeck and NC State :p

Obviously the better team won. But if you're gonna say you didn't get some help by the refs at the end you'd be lying. And it's not a cop out, not only did the foul take the ball away from us, it put hamilton at 4 fouls and gave you 2 free throws. This when we were up by two. Very convenient. Either way, like I said in my previous post, it was our game to lose and we lost it, the phantom call was just the backbreaker.

Anyway, a friend just sent this to me and I found it hilarious so I'll post it for everyone's enjoyment:

Wow, it's those classy Maryland fans at it again ;-) At least they won't have to make up obscene chants for JJ Reddick for the ACC Tournament. BTW, good job of getting the ACC Tourney moved to DC, Williams. It really helped out the Terapins this year ;-) Too bad NC State fans won't get a chance to cheer "we killed your grandfather" to Paul. Just another sign of classy ACC fans ;-)

Of course SEC has their share of class-less fans. I get really tired of hearing "Matt Walsh is gay" during the UF games. Bah :p And I'm sure there have been even less tasteful things chanted during SEC games. Oh well, guess it's just a part of college basketball :p

Well so far so good. UF is up by 17 pts at the half. But there's still another half to play and I don't think MSU is just going to lie down and let UF walk off with an easy win. Hopefully UF will weather any sort of runs that MSU goes on.

Also glad to see Missouri lost. ;-) No NCAA tourney for you! >:)

Florida was one of the founding members of the SEC and has never won an SEC Tournament. I think your chances of ending that are pretty slim, but it's always good to have dreams. :)

Shame about Indiana, they're definitely out of the big one now. They'll be in much better shape next season. I don't think their 10 conference wins is enough to get them in, even though traditionally it's always been a lock for the NCAA's.

Yeah, you UK fans deserve to gloat :) You've got upteenth SEC regular season championships and SEC tournament championships. You deserve the right to look down on the rest of the SEC. Oh well, I just want UF to do well in the SEC tournament and more importantly advance past the first round of the NCAA tournament to change the national perception of UF as a basketball team that always chokes. :p

We do deserve top gloat, but seriously, Florida is one of only two current SEC members that have never won the tournament. The other is South Carolina, but they only joined in the 90s. No excuse for Florida to never have won this thing at some point along the way.

I'm really hoping the SEC in a "down year" can come out and put up a good showing in the big dance. It gets frustrating seeing everyone collapse in the tournament as if they can only get up for Kentucky and then they're done with the season.

Yeah, I do want all SEC teams to do well in the NCAA tournament, not just UF. It would be good like you say if SEC could show all those naysayers that SEC isn't so down that they can't make a splash in the NCAA tournament. How LSU isn't ranked in the AP poll boggles my mind (UF to a lesser extent). Oh well, LSU should show up in the polls seeing as Charolette (sp?) lost and they were 24th or 25th. Cincinnatti is another team that deserves to drop but we'll see. Kentucky, Alabama, UF, LSU, and hopefully MSU should make it to the NCAA and these teams should be able to advance past the 1st round IMHO. :)

Edit: Oh boy. Looks like Bama is UF's next opponent. I hope UF can pull off another victory. I'm guessing like I mentioned before that Bama will be hyped up for this game. I'm sure Gottfried will use their lopsided loss to UF as motivation for this game.
