Hahahahahahaha...only if there are about 6 #1 seeds. Right now Illinois, North Carolina, Kentucky, Wake, Arizona, and Kansas are all ahead of you for a #1 seed. Oh, and Duke.

:lol

I always have liked Louisvill, and did even moreso once they got Rick to coach....yet these last two years my bias towards them has had them going pretty far, only for them to lose pretty early =(

Wake just lost

Duke will lose to UNC

Arizona will lose to Washington/Stanford

Kansas is a joke right now

Kentucky will lose to bama/florida

First tragedy, then farce.
meh, Texas is in the tourny.. I figure an 8 or a 9 seed.. though I wouldnt mind if we dropped a bit from that. Losing 2 starters for the year and 5 seniors from last year isnt going to help, especially when one was the heart of your team is hard.. and relying on a Frosh point gaurd for almost all of your offense is an equally bad omen.. I mean, yeah T.J. did it, but he had alot more around him.. and was T.J.

Even if we get through round 1.. we only have 6 scholarship players AFAIK.. we are going to be tired as hell.

Next year, if we can get PJ Tucker back, we will be STACKED. Bringing in another top 10 recruiting class..

And when all of these things happen, Louisville still will not be a #1 seed.

and Em, only way Duke gets a #1 seed is if they win the ACC tournament (not happening ;)).

haha, oh we'll see. both games between unc/duke have been close, even though we fucking choked that last game away hardcore style.
if we meet again....neither side can guarantee a victory :lol

As long as we don't play like we did today against Clemson...I'm sitting in BioII AP and having my friend check on his cell phone the score...and it's like 3 pt clemson lead...7 pt lead...12 pt lead...I was straight up about to act a fool in class! :lol Class ended and I got to catch the last 3 minutes of the game, glad we pulled it out. McCants had two CLUTCH 3s in that comeback. Hopefully he'll be able to play more minutes tomorrow (played 15 min today). I think the team really feeds off his energy.

Wake is still ahead of Louisville in the running for a #1 seed because of who they have played and beat. But if all the rest of that happens, and Louisville can hang on in the mighty Metro (which they've had problems with in years past) then Louisville could slip in to a #1, barely. Maybe then Louisville can make it out of the first round?

Yes, because losing to Xavier is the opening round definitely gives you room to talk smack. :p

There will be plenty of great games today. Oklahoma State and Kansas should be an intense battle, and West Virginia and Syracuse will be entertaining. Arizona and Washington will be a high-scoring game, and Arizona is going for a #1 seed. There's also some interesting Bubble scenarios, especially with Iowa. Some analysts believe Iowa's win against Michigan State secured an NCAA bid, but others think they need to at least get into the championship game in the Big Ten tournament. Can they beat Wisconsin to firmly lock a NCAA bid?

Oh and Louisville and Memphis are playing right now.

March Madness rules.

So many great games today. I'm pretty much going to stay glued here.

Same here. I've got the DVR and DVD Recorder going, and I'll only be leaving long enough to pick up a pizza before the Kentucky game.

UNC vs Ga. Tech is about 25 minutes away...hopefully we play with a much better intensity than the Clemson game. Tech is a very dangerous team and I don't think we can play lazy D or we will lose. GO HEELS!

Don't worry about it, man. Digger picked GT over you and LSU over us. We're both safe...Digger is always wrong. Haha.

Digger's funny. His constant pimping of his former team, Notre Dame, is just hillarious.
One year I fully expect this exchange to happen:

Digger: I think a team that will go deep in the tourney is Notre Dame. They have depth, defense, and can drain the three.

Dicky V: Uhh, digger Notre Dame is made of freshman, play terrible defense, and shoot about 20% from beyond the arc. They're also 3-24, BABY!!

Digger: Do no defy me!! Go Irish! RAAARRRRR!!!!

Let's talk potential cinderellas:

The hot pick right now seems to be West Virginia, and for good reason. They are just rolling right now and have lots of momentum.

For all the hate the Big Ten gets this year (it's been having it's WORST YEAR EVER for like 4 years now, according to some members of the media), their style of play usually succeeds in the tournament. I expect Illinois to win it all, but watch out for a team like Michigan State and Wisconsin.

As for teams that aren't cinderellas that I like (or don't like):

It's hard not to pick UNC this year, they are damn good.

What about the Pac-10? I'm not too impressed by Arizona or Washington, although I like Washington more and think they have the best chance of making a deep run from that conference.

Louisville is pretty good.

Looking at ESPN's bracketology, if that is close to the final bracket, I don't see many first round upsets. But I have to support my campus: go UW-Milwaukee! Panther pride!! We almost beat Notre Dame two years ago in the first round :)

And OMG!!! at Louisville and Memphis. Holy shit, that Memphis player :(

I feel SO bad for that Memphis player. Even a Louisville fan should have been hoping for 2 of 3, just so he wouldn't have to go through that.

Damn, I'm a Lou fan but Memphis gave us all we could handle! Shiiiiiiiit. I knew it would be tough though, that's been our biggest rivalry all year, and they were at home. #2 seed is a lock, possible #1 if things fall into place.

holy shit! I'm just speechless........we lost a game to uk in the same way this year

I bet some Louisville fans were having nightmare flashbacks when that happened. D Wash couldn't sink the FTs though. You guys squeeked that one out. Survive and advance.

If UNC keeps playing like this, they're gonna have enough trouble making the elite 8, let alone the final 4. This, of course, is perfectly fine by me.

Eminem

goddamit, Griese!
hahahaha, UNC loses despite the best effort of the refs to keep them in it.
Duke now has a much easier road to winning this thing

I haven't been really inspired by the Illini's play of late. 23 turnovers today! That will not get it done past the first round

Digger called them both right today. His first two correct picks all season...haha. Amazing.

Edit - Or not. Go big blue.

*sigh* No answer whatsoever for Bynum today. He took us to the woodshed. Sean May decided to dick around until the 2nd half. McCants did his best to keep us in it, but it just wasn't meant to be. Horrible day of b-ball now that Duke is going to win too. Oh well, I'll root for Tech tomorrow.

Last three teams to beat UNC lost their next game. I'll root as hard as a I can for Ga. Tech, but Duke is all but assured the ACC title and possibly a #1 seed. I hate how everyone seems to perform at unreal levels against the Heels: Wake Forest shoots 32/32 on the FT line (despite being ~68% for the year at the charity stripe), 21/22 for Duke in their win (along with freshman Demarcus Nelson pouring in 16 pts after averaging less than 5 ppg before the UNC/Duke game), and Bynum seemingly making every shot he took, scoring a career-high 35 points against us. I'm sure I'll be beating my head against the wall tomorrow when Bynum shoots ~ 3-15 for 8 pts or something like that.

So guys, who do you think are gonna be the #1 seeds? Here's mine:

Who I think will be it:

If Dook wins the ACC Tournament:
Illinois, UNC, Kentucky, Duke

If Ga. Tech upsets Dook:
Illionis, UNC, Kentucky, Wake Forest

Who I think should be it, regardless:
Illinois, UNC, Kentucky, Louisville

Bumped for today's games. Georgia Tech and Duke is starting right now.

And Digger is flipping out about Notre Dame again! Joe Lunardi was trying to explain how Notre Dame wasn't going to get into the tournament, and Digger wasn't going to hear any of it. Digger rules :lol

Kentucky and Florida are in a good game, but Kentucky is building lots of momentum.

Duke is controlling Georgia Tech so far.

And I don't know which bubble team is causing more debate, Iowa or Notre Dame. :)
