-The 2012 WWE Elimination Chamber PPV drew 178,000 buys, which is down from the 199,000 buys the event drew in 2011 and down from the 285,000 buys the event drew in 2010.

What happened at 19? Huge numbers year before and after, but for 19 it just falls off a cliff.
2010: 285,000
2011: 199,000
2012: 178,000
The problem this pay per view is its between the top 2 wwe pay per views for buyrates. So people were not going to spend when Wrestlemania is next. Also, the outcome for Punk vs Rock was basically given so hurt it too.
People bought for the original Punk vs Rock match for Rumble, but after that everyone knew what was going to happen next.

Those early TNA Weekly PPVs are odd. So many random half naked girls dancing in cages, or stripping each other. Midgets and Jeff Jarrett in the Main Event.
This is what I meant when I said The Rock has basically saved Wrestlemania for the past two years.
Wrestlemania 27 would have had a pathetic buyrate without him. I wouldn't have been surprised if the domestic buyrate ended up less than 400,000 and the total buyrate was about 700,000 without him. I know people like to bring up the streak, but I genuinely believe it doesn't really draw in the grand scheme of things.
The product itself has to be appealing as a whole to capture that big feel and draw in an audience. For that, you need strong storylines, good characters, and combine that with talent to create a show people want to see.
Vince needs Wrestlemania to be a huge success at least. It's their premier event. The Rock is basically about to save that show for 3 years straight and Vince is lucky he's around for the moment. I don't understand what they're thinking not trying to freshen up the product and create some kind of atmosphere though. What do they plan to do when there is no Rock?
Vince rode Cena way too hard at the expense of everything else.

I like story time with The Rock when it's on a b-show like Smackdown.

They'll book it as a smark's dream--everyone we love will look great, storylines will be progressed, Cena will develop a character that not only makes sense, but is consistent with his behavior for the past five years and will bring out his charismatic side. And then things will revert to normal the next day and nothing that happened will ever be referenced again. -
