Wireless but my connection (per se) is not the problem. I play other online games just fine. I only get this annoying shit with Mario Kart.

Also fuck SNES RR, it's the easiest track to drive in the game if you can dodge the twhomps but has no rails so all sorts of nonsense happens if you get a draft boost or bumped severely.
