It's effective in Frantic. Engine class doesn't matter. Also, doesn't work as well in smaller rooms.

If you play with us, aim for a combo with at least 4 acceleration. I tried that last night after using 3 accel for a while and I kicked fucking ass before I ragequit.

Yes.

Though honestly, a lightweight like Koopa or Toadette in the standard combo can get you through the 150cc GPs just fine. When you eventually get to 200cc just switch out the wheels for rollers, buttons, or leaf tires.
