It was ok I guess, but the writing was mediocre and the wort part was the side-content. So much cool stuff and villains they could have included that didn't fit in the main story, but instead I was running errands for random people. Next Insomniac game is not day one for me, that's for sure.

Hows that compare to the first one?
Honestly I rather stick 100x times with the first Spider-man. It has bland slow walking sections with characters I don't care, but those parts were relativelly very short and the game didn't smell like social brownies bullshit. After that I honestly fear for whats is going to happen to Wolverine.

Lol... just reading this thread one would think this thing hasn't sold 11M units.

The story was pretty much the same with the first two entries to me as far as impact. And it was a better game in of itself over the other games. A solid 8 in my book. Not everything has to reinvent the wheel. Sometimes, its enough for a game to just be good.

And 11M ppl agree except those on GAF.

Theres a distinct difference between buying something and enjoy it.
I bought Uncharted 4 and hate that walking garbage. The only Uncharted that I liked was the first one, it's a pretty fun exploration and action game. But for argumentists like yourself, I'm part of the millions who bought and like the game. It's a similar thing that happens in movies, the fact that I spent money to watch a movie doesn't make the movie itself good.

No thanks to Sbi and the shit character portrayals, story and writing.

I'm just praying they don't double/triple down on what everyone  easily considers the worst/weakest parts of this game.
Oh they will. The great sales from this game pretty much sealed that fact.

Which is why a lot of the time, you have to ignore said posts as they're generally "thing wasn't good to me, therefore I have to tell you because it should suck to everyone" sorts of posts, while the rest of the world clearly doesn't give a shit. :goog_lol:

As for the result, another behemoth, of course!

Wait, Uncharted is a bad game now?

It’s a shame because there are legitimate criticisms to make with the writing that quite a few professional reviewers didn’t point out, but I’m going to assume Insomniac is never going to read them because you will have to dig under a heavy layer of culture war garbage to get to it.

Spidey is my favorite superhero, and I really enjoyed the first game. But Miles was just more of the same gameplay and missions, and I didn’t end up playing much of it. So I didn’t bother getting Spider-Man 2 either, since it seemed just like more of the same.

It’s the kind of game that I’ll probably buy in 5 years if I get hungry for a Spidey game (well, by that time I’ll probably just get Spider-Man 3), but just like the movies, these games are far too samey.

i just hope insomniac doesnt dig further into the woke pit
Bad news for you. This is at the core of this studio now and has nothing to do with sweet baby.

This is their flat out culture at this studio.

The Wolverine game will be a hot mess.

People bought the game despite the crappy story and manly jaw. The situation is much different now that people understand why the characters/story turned out the way it did. People are now very skeptical/hesitant on every game that involves certain consultant groups.

That is assuming that most of those people who bought it knew of it to begin with. Not everyone actually learns about the games they buy. They see Spiderman and buy.

Of course but I'm not referring to those people...and you should give people more credit. Audiences and gamers are very much aware of what's happening in Hollywood and now Videogames and there's been an increasing pushback against these agendas.

The fact that there's now groups online dedicated to pointing out these games that may be pushing certain agendas should tell you that many gamers are now more informed than they were before they bought SM2.

With is a shame because in comparison with the first Spider-Man this game sucks really really hard, mainly in the story departament.

What a huge let down the story is getting generation after generation.

Primarily the side content drug it down for me, but yeah, I really don't know if I'm going to be buying any more Marvel games from Insomniac. Wish Sony would pay a second party to take that over at this point, but fact of the matter is Insomniac is making a ton of money for Sony so things won't change.

Definitely not the same people who wrote the story for SM1. I had hope for Wolverine before SM2. But you are right which is depressing.

Last year I had even posted thinking insomniac had become Sonys best studio over naughty dog since they were putting out multiple games in shorter time spans with just as high production values.

Now? I could care less about how many gay dudes Logan will need to escort to the town ball, or recasting Jean as a Puerto Rican woman with a man jaw who gives off big dick energy.

I liked it overall. Do wish they would have stuck to Peter 90% of the time though. Miles game was cool but I’m not really looking forward to him taking over.
