I just came home, and have been out of it for a while, but came across this fan fade drawing of Spider-Man's Avengers suit that he gets and I thought it looked hideous in the movie but I'm really coming around on it looking at this art.

i09 spoke to Feige about this possibility and he was (surprisingly) optimistic about the chances of some level of crossover happening. Specifically, he was asked about the potential for a TV character to appear in the movies, or rather if their presence on the small screen eliminates them from contention to be in the films – and apparently it does not.

Not necessarily. The future's a long time. So, the truth is, I don't really know, but there are a lot of TV shows being made, and hopefully we'll continue to make a lot of movies. At some point, there's going to be a crossover. Crossover, repetition, or something.

Feige explained that as of right now, there are no plans to have any Marvel TV characters appearing in any of the Marvel Studios movies. He stressed that even though there aren't any plans as of this point, never say never since it's all in the same universe.

”Maybe someday. No plans right now. Maybe someday, but we've a lot of characters in the MCU and one of the things that is so special about those characters on the Netflix shows is their dynamic together. They are all combining to become The Defenders later this year and are doing their own thing."

Cage actor Colter appeared on Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM and was asked about this exciting possibility.

He said: ”What we do is really unique. We're adult kind of oriented. We're not PG-13. We're not really for the mass audiences, crowd pleasing, family oriented. We have sex scenes. We have, you know, adult situations, and while I think it'd be nice to be in the films, I don't know if we want to dilute what we're doing that makes us very unique."

Not exactly a promising answer there from Colter, but he didn't finish there.

The star added: ”That being said, you know Marvel, if they can make it work I'm sure it'd be nice, but it's really scheduling. They schedule movies years in advance, we're shooting TV series year round. It's very tough to just kind of make things just work the way you want to because it's just so much going on."

It's complicated. When we start to serialize the telling of stories it's difficult. You have to have a lot of control and focus on the course of history. The films are controlled by a group led by Kevin Feige, so they function as a unit. Other products, even if they are from Marvel, are controlled by others. Then there is the possibility of a crossover, but it's more complicated. It is a smaller scale version of the problem that exists when remembering that Fox holds the rights to some of Marvel's most popular characters, as does Sony and others. As storytellers, we only have control over what happens in Marvel movies, but everything is possible, Spider-Man (whose rights were held by Sony) became possible!

Huh. Ya know, if you take the massive spider emblem and turn it white, and turn the rest of the suit black..you've got a pretty good looking symbiote suit..

Damn that made me laugh hard for some reason, the way Cheadle kind of surprised Mark with: "duuude dude, no you can't say that.". I sincerely hope he won't get in trouble for any of this.

You know, I never really thought about it, but... man, Tom Holland probably WAS a fan of the MCU as a kid, wasn't he? I mean dude wasn't even 12 when the first Iron Man came out. He's like a real-life Spider-Man with this thing, jumping up to the big leagues.

I know that's sorta true of a lot of people - I know, like, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are the new Star Wars leads and they grew up on Star Wars and all that - but it's different getting to join a living, breathing cinematic universe, with the same movie stars you grew up watching, and standing right alongside them. That must be CRAZY. Like, wildest-dreams-come-true stuff.

Yeah, it's a pretty awesome parallel between the characters in the story and the actors in real life.




Also, I kinda wish Tony's "Avengers suit" for Spidey took more of an influence from the Iron Spider suit, ie. changing the color scheme entirely:

The suit in Homecoming just comes off as a... weird bastardized version of Spidey's normal suit. It's not spectacular, it doesn't stand out, it's just kinda ugly.

How cool would it be if Disney and fox actually put their differences aside and at the end of infinity war in the after credits scene and everybody got their ass kicked by Thanos, we see Hugh Jackman walk into avengers tower and the claws come out.
