I thought War Machine now has that fancy new Iron Man 2.0 armour without the minigun and rocket launcher

So wait, Scarlet Witch is a member of Avengers again? People are just cool with her after the whole House of M thing?

I'm not sure where Wanda's at with the Avengers or X-Men right now; that Children's Crusade miniseries that brought her back still hasn't ended either. Two issues left?

One issue, ships the 29th. I'm enjoying it, but it's been kind of disappointing with some poor Avengers and X-Men characterization, and it seems to be more about getting Wanda and the Young Avengers from continuity point A to point B than telling a character-driven story. Hopefully, we'll finally get a proper YA Vol. 2 once AvX concludes.

I'm going to get Sushi tonight and there is a comic books shop next door so I am thinking about picking up some X-men Comics. I finished reading Schism so which ones should I pick up that are good?

This is a question I've had about the x-men for a while now, and I guess I'll ask it here since it seems super-relevant: There's plenty of x-men like cyclops whose power seems to be some offensive thing. If that's all the powers they've got, then they are squishy vulnerable meatbags as far as getting hit goes. Do they all have some passive resiliency mutation that I don't know about, or is this just a thing that gets ignored in the stories?

The X-men have a whole hardbody(Rockslide, Bling, etc) squad that Cyke lead against the vampires.

I don't think they have any kind of superhuman resilience, but Cyclops is in pretty good shape. And the suits are probably armored, so I'm sure they can take a hit.

Teasers look good.
I don't know, I was going to say "it's probably going to suck", but I'll actually wait and be disapointed once more.

Art is some of the better JRJR work I've seen, and the script is decent for a Bendis team book, but it's not a good sign that it's written as though none of the Phoenix stories post-Dark Phoenix Saga ever happened.

everyone has variable levels of durability. some are almost completely invulnerable to just about any physical damage (colossus), some have healing factors that regenerate damage gained (wolverine, etc), and some are just standard human (cyclops). depends on the character.

The avengers (or any other superteam) really aren't any different.

The most ridiculous matchup (and there are some really stupid ones) has to be Black Widow vs. Psylocke.

hope is gonna have to get cut down soon. one way or another. ive havent seen a character that just screams "kill me please!" since joseph.

Bah, that last preview seems to indicate they are going ahead with Eric Fail Nova rather than Richard Rider. Damn you Loeb.

I like Hope. Haters, are indeed, gonna hate.

I'm slightly confused: How do you keep something like the Phoenix a secret among the X-Men? I mean, at this point Emma, Rachel, the Cuccoos, Prof. X, Wolverine, and Spider-Man have all been Phoenix hosts at some point, right? Someone would have let this slip, wouldn't they?

Especially when you have awkward questions like, "Hey, what happened to Rachel's family?" "Why does Scott's wife's grave say she'll rise again?" And so on. You'd think that among all the heroes and villains who have encountered Phoenix up until now, SOMEONE would have mentioned that it was a big ol' fiery bird that basically granted a young woman God like powers in an inordinately small amount of time.

Also: Why would the Phoenix be looking for a new primary host to hold all of its powers? I mean, 1) Rachel's still around, and 2) Didn't it just get hurt by the Shi'ar a few years back, causing Jean to sit down and start pulling all the pieces back together? And wasn't there a whole lot of talk about how Jean and the Phoenix were one before that?

Ok, I'm confused. I thought they retconned so that it wasn't actually Jean during the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Sagas: The Phoenix Force took the place of Jean and placed her in a cocoon. Did they Retcon the Retcon so it was Jean after all?

but it isn't a secret.

Rachel needs to become relevant again.

Bring Jean back, kill rachel because shes just a stand-in for her. Then let Bishop kill Cable. Nate Grey comes in and is all "wtf why u do that" and kills Bishop by saturating him with psi energy causing him to explode in an explosion so intense it kills the last of the Summers clan. And now we're free of that convoluted thread of continuity.

I wouldn't mind that so much, but then my fictional agency x wouldn't happen. And I need cable and nate alive for that.

That doesn't kill off all the Summers clan...

So the Black Panther invented an X-gene suppressant I'd be interested if it would come into play at some point in this story if things get serious. I doubt he'd use it on his wife though

Alex can stay. Vulcan didn't happen. Such a pointless obscure thread some idiot just had to grab on to. :(

Vulcan is dead....he died in a blaze so glorious it ripped a whole in the very fabric of space.

I really dont mind the summers clan, other than hope who i mind only because marvel insists on making her the center of attention when she isnt worth it.

How can anyone hate Cable?
Scott needs to exist if only to be that guy that so many people hate on
Rachel I dont mind her as she is now.
Alex....do people actually read X-Factor...is he still in that book....shit i dont know, nor care, i wonder if anyone does?

It has been a long time since I have said something like this, but you are the reason why Marvel did not bother with Havok/Lorna for such a long time. Whao dude. If nobody read X-Factor "or care", it would have been cancelled long ago. And they just got introduced (reintroduced) there an issue ago. It is about time you wait for one adventure before dissing them pointlessly...whao.
