It's from the same devs but it's not really X-Com since it's all card based.
You basically build a "deck" and are given a bunch of random cards at the beginning of each turn. There's also no cover or things like that.
Unlike Xcom a part of the game is also talking and interacting with the other characters at your home base. Some previews actually said they felt like there was too much dialog.

Full price, card game with cringe life sim elements, looks bad, no hype for a capeshit game. I just don't see it when even awesome marvel games like GOTG bombed. I mean, look at this thread, same devs as beloved XCOM 2 and nobody gives a shit here.

Yeah i get your concerns, but it's from the Xcom makers (Jake Solomon) i have a little faith it will be good (i hope so at least).

I'm not saying it will be bad, it will likely be fine for what it is (a card game with life sim elements), it's just not something I see being a success. I think the art style and graphics are pretty weak but that is subjective of course.

I would have loved their new game to be Xcom 3, how epic would that be. I'm not seeing Marvel Midnights Suns to have the same hype, but it is what it is.

My only concern is the fact that you literally haven't seen anything for this game, I thought it was delayed or cancelled just because you have to hunt fish information. Deadpool DLC was the only indication that it was coming and it was a meme video

They have a weird take. How early a pub sends out review code does not signify much of anything IMO. It's the review embargo date (or lack thereof) that tells us a lot.
