I hope not. I love IM series but he got his trilogy and I would prefer other movies get their focus now.

yeah i just want to know that they're going to do more with him going forward, not even necessarily before avengers 3

i know a lot of people will moan if he's a focus of the avengers movies - which I'm guessing he will be
His last deal was just for 2 additional Avengers films and not for any additional Iron Man films.
dang

yeah they hate women

They come from a proud tradition

Super awesome. The Inhumans have been some of my favorite Marvel characters since I was a kid.

To anyone who is looking for brushing up on their comic appearances, I strongly recommend the Eisner Award winning miniseries by Paul Jenkins & Jae Lee.

Well get around to reading this heard great things.

Marvel has been pushing them pretty hard ever since the MCU took off in attempt to have them act as a replacement for the X-Men.

Basically they are a race of genetically modified super humans, who are completely normal until exposed to 'terrigen mists' which then unlock their latent powers.

Oh and they live on the moon.
That Inhuman came from the moon.

So they're going all out, it seems.

That would give him a role where he only says one line and a role where he says nothing.

Nah, Black Bolt is going to say something. That's what going to help save the day in this movie, and then turn around and fail against Thanos in Avengers 3.

In The Inhumans: Fuuuuuck youuuuuuuu (as he destroys everything around him)
In Avengers 3: Thanos stops him cursing and censors him for the good of the MPAA

Just about my least favorite Marvel property. Yay.

This is a much bigger risk for Marvel than GotG imho. Neither property is terribly well known but GotG has had a small, rabid fanbase for years. Raise your hand if you've been dying to see the Inhumans on the big screen, if this announcement was like a dream given flesh for you. That's how the GotG announcement felt to me and others who fell in love with the Guardians. Go check those threads out and witness people losing their shit. Marvel hasn't been able to find traction with the property in a long time despite a valiant effort...so the gamble here is to see if a property that won't work in comics will work on the big screen. This could be the shark jump for MCU.

I just went through the DnA Marvel Cosmic stuff on Marvel Infinity, and it's given me a much greater appreciation of the Inhumans, so I'm pretty stoked for this.

I know this is a joke post, but it's so well done...

This is great. I just finished the Jenkins & Lee '99 run yesterday. It was a taut, slow-building thrill of a series. Also, it doesn't descend into instant gratification. It instills this deep awe in the reader over Black Bolt, and you keep wanting him to speak, to use his power, but the series uses other means to make things interesting without cheapening the plot.

HOLY HELL.

Also, they need to find an actual redhead to play Medusa and she actually needs to be legit hardcore. She's probably the baddest biggish female character nobody knows about in the Marvel Universe.

Biggish? Natural Red Head....

how about Christina Hendricks?

Pretty much yeah, I'm not going to be surprised when Marvel announces the movie as AVENGERS: INFINITY. Obviously the Gauntlet will be involved though.

Yeah I can see that happening too. Avengers 3 should focus just on them and on Thanos gathering the rest of the gems. Then they do the BIG cross-over movie with all their teams and that can just be called INFINITY.

Imagine the gaming tie-in... Disney Avengers Infinity 3.0!?

You do realize that these threads exist because Marvel is telling us what they are planning?

This is just 1 piece of a much larger puzzle with lots of blank spots left. All we know about this at this point is that it is supposed to fill one of the many open slots.

Inhumans is very different from the rest of Marvel's properties. Hard to explain...but if I had to try I would say it should be slower paced, full of political drama and be considerably darker in tone - but the action should be extremely unique with the kind of characters they're working with. It's going to take a visionary director to sell it. If his plate wasn't full enough as it is, Del Toro would be my #1 pick.

This is not a property they can pass off to the mass audience with light hearted humor and brisk pacing, which is why it's a much bigger challenge and risk over GOTG.

The Inhumans definitely deserve the attention though because they're some of the coolest characters and stories that have come out of Marvel in recent decades. It's just unfortunate that most of their best stories, aside from the Jenkins/Lee Saga and Silent Wars, tends to be a part of someone else's book or a bigger event like Infinity.

How okay are we with Stark and Cap dying?

Infinity 3.0 is going to be star wars. Come now.

So, assuming every new date up to 2019 is for Phase 3, what we have so far are...

- Ant-Man
- Captain America 3
- Doctor Strange
- Guardians of the Galaxy 2
- Thor 3
- The Inhumans
- Avengers 3

If the assumption above is correct, we know of 7/10 of the MCU Phase 3 slate. Any guesses on the remaining 3?

Runaways, namor and ms marvel.

Got the tweens adventure romp, the not Aquaman movie and the female super hero movie.

Black Panther
Captain Marvel
Thanos Quest or Nova

Though yeah, we don't know for sure if everything through 2019 leads into Avengers 3. Feige said he expects A3 within the same time frame as A1 to A2, which means 2018.

Replace Namor with Black Panther & I agree. T'Challa in the MCU was a long-time coming.

I see marvel doing black panther on Netflix. I think you almost have to. There's a lot of political intrigue and maybe references to latveria and Doom that marvel wouldn't otherwise be able to use/reference in film.

Nope, absolutely not.

Wakanda on the big screen in all its glory or don't do it at all.

If they treat Inhumans as X-Men, it'll be a disaster. They're superhero royalty and needs to be treated like a modern day King Arthur. The elements are all there for some crazy Game of Throne-ish court intrigue.

*Assuming all dates are Phase 3*

Jul 17th, 2015 - Ant-man

May 6th, 2016 - Captain America 3

July 8th, 2016 - (Doctor Strange - TBA)

May 5th, 2017 - (Black Panther)

July 28th, 2017 - Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Nov. 3rd, 2017 - (Inhumans)

May 4th, 2018 - (Thor 3 - TBA)

July 6th, 2018 - (Captain Marvel)

November 2nd, 2018 - (Thanos Imperative: Avengers 3 pt1)

May 3rd, 2019 (Avengers 3 pt2: Infinity Guantlet)

it's weird how they don't manage to like any scripts that would headline a woman

Well, whose to say Medusa isn't the main character?

I mean ... Black Bolt can't speak so some one's gonna have to be our eyes and ears, with a character arc and important events right?

Maybe she is to be to the InHumans wut Wolverine is to every damn X-Men flick ... the main character that's not the official "leader"? I mean, she does seem to be on the Avengers team in one of those new books, right.

Or not, I'm sure they will find a white dick for that main character role but I hope they go with her instead.

Either way, InHumans in my eyes means Ms. Marvel aint that far off!

Can't say I'm excised for this in anyway other than wut it can mean for future titles like a Possible Ms. Marvel Movie. Don't know enuff about the characters to care (I know Medusa has living hair and some girl have element powers ...? I thought those 2 and Black Bolt were the only members of the team but it seems I'm wrong).
