Marvel teases death of X-Men?

I'd be super okay with no more Xmen or Fantastic Four, ever.

I'd be even happier if Deadpool killed them all.

Sounds like an awful idea.

And Marvel beat you to the punch.

This book was also pretty shite.

As was the Punisher version.

The Squirrel Girl version will be fine because she's not a mass murderer to begin with and generally isn't annoying.

I will only accept Cyclops coming back if it's a solo street-level book where he assesses the state of the world and works his shit out

The world needs to figure it's shit out. But Marvel will write a series where Cyke killed Inhuman babies or something because they were shocked fans didn't side with Capt. Facist so they have to keep writing him doing worse and worse shit until the fans are on the side of the guy that made Marvel Studios infinite money.

Eventually, Cap will reveal that Hitler was actually Scott all along and they'll print an homage issue of Avengers that resembles the "Cap punches Hitler" issue with Scott in the place of Adolf.

and somehow, someway, Cyclops will still be right

taking it a bit far, no?

I would almost bet money on some huge MJ return arc later this year, maybe next. That one book during Secret Wars sold gangbusters and there's gonna be official new Marvel movie Spiderman, plus - as you said - Miles is there for all your young Spidey needs.

While CEO Spidey is fun for a while, the MU already has way too many "young mastermind technician CEO" types, and I just can't see Pete staying in that role. He'll lose his shit, he'll be rock bottom, MJ will be there for him, Mephistos spell will be broken.

I want to see Peter as CEO, not Tony Stark playing Spider-Man as CEO. Pete has earned his chance at not sucking and frankly, it's always been a bit odd that a genius was always super broke. Maybe they should switch his focus and make him more of a CEO of a media conglomerate or something though.

Seriuosly is there any other race that gets fucked over more than mutants?

plain ol racism, registration acts, sentinels, legacy virus, Genosha, House of M, Decimation, Beast, Terrigen mists, high chance of having some shitty mutation like a morlock, loads of other shit.

fuck being a mutant

Don't use the "M-word" please. Try "Alex" instead.

But Beast is awesome.

Is Marvel still finding ways to ruin their comics and alienate their audience (what's left of it)? Can't say I'm surprised. I still haven't forgiven them for Brand New Day.

The X-Men series are so bad these days anyways it's hard to care. They need a talented writer to come in, do a clean sweep and just start from basics. Hickman would be ideal but he seems to need a break.

First Class and DoFP are the best in the series

I'm fine with this. Rather see the X-Men killed off. Then give them a break. Then reboot then like they did with the Ultimate Universe in the early 00s.

It sucks, but is what it is. People just have to accept every so often comics need to hit that reset button.

Edit: As someone who loves the shit out of the Ultimate Universe from like 00-10 the universe as a whole has stayed long past it's welcome. While they've done some cool shit with regards to diversity the universe in general is at maximum crazy/power creep despite a couple of cataclysmic (aka we need to reboot some shit) events. Rather see the whole Ultimate Universe put out to pasture and Marvel start all over again.

At this point I'd only read Marvel if they stopped putting stand ins into other character's roles. X23 is Wolverine, Sam Wilson is Captain America, Thor's girlfriend is Thor, Gwen Stacy is both a Spiderman spinoff and a Deadpool spinoff...it goes on and on.

I agree they need new characters but respect those characters enough to make them their own themes and purposes. More than that MAKE SOME DAMNED VILLAINS. Everyone is a hero arguing with another hero these days because the more suits in the issue the more it sells. After nearly 17 years of this running wild I'd like to see villains with longevity again. Last good new one they made was The Hood.

Will Gambit be okay?!?!?!
Yes.

This book takes place in the past so they aren't going to be killed off lol.

What the fuck with the pictures as you get further down the article.

It's like someone at Marvel fapped their hate of the X-Men into drawn form.

Are we really supposing that this event is going to be played straight or is there going to be a twist?

I'd expect a twist, or they'll retcon things in a few years.

I'm ready for no more X-Men.

From a civilian standpoint on the MCU, the mutants ARE a bunch of dangerous individuals and terrorists who act without any consequences.

Is Marvel just getting stingy about not having the film rights to X-Men and Fantastic Four? (Seems like they're willing to let Deadpool go)

Yes.

I get that, but what I'm saying is I wish it was the actual death of the X-Men and in general the Ultimate line. They need a full fresh start with zero baggage.
