Well I hate playing Sentinel as a character but love his drones assist.
That's basically why I'm using him; I'm not a fan of Sent at all but that assist is really, really good. Especially if I'm trying to play a keep away game.

Over 200 pages already? Go GAF!

I regret ordering it online now xD Although i figured it was a good choice, secured the pre-order bonus, and also pretty much half the price of the retail cost here.

However i did get a chance to play a friends copy awhile ago. Game is so boss, i love it.

how do you save your team??

From death at the steely hands of an XF'd Sentinel trying to avenge his fallen teammates? That I'm not sure, but if you're talking about saving a preset team, then hit R1 (PS3) and toggle a couple pages until you see the page with 3 presets.

So no one has any tips for calling out assists during combos? Don't know what I'm doing fundamentally wrong in the challenges. The assist comes out waaaay too late it seems, and it's impossible to call it earlier.

cant you call it earlier, in between two hits of the combo?

Not during missions, it'll reset the objectives tracker.

Just try inputting the chains as quickly as possible, and the assist button as quickly as possible after that as well. You don't have to wait for the attacks to come out but the inputs do need to be in the listed order. Also, for the most part, the assists seem to come into play at a later point in the combo so you might be missing whatever's after the assist and letting the combo drop.

Ferrio said:
Oh... hrmm good point. Will try later, maybe the "Partner 2" is when he should be out by, not when you actually call.

Nah. While this would make sense and is what you'd actually want to put in your own combos, that's not how the mission mode trials work.

Out of the air, delay the last hit a bit and watch the body. When they are bouncing off the ground, call it then continue the combo.

During a chain, you don't press the partner and whatever input separately but at the same time. If it's like

Standing L
Standing M
Partner 1
Crouching H
Special
etc
etc

Press A, B+P1, C, D.

Have you done this yourself for a mission mode trial? Maybe I'm just not remembering right or it works differently depending on the trial (and I've only done about 40% so far), but the last assist trial I did was with Captain America and you had to press the inputs in the order listed as opposed to hitting the dummy with the attacks in the listed order.

Man, this game is AMAZING. And I'm the guy who was concerned about how easy it'd be to execute hadokens. All the quarter-circles in this game are a cinch -- it seems much more relaxed than SSFIV in that regard -- and all the simple permutation like holding back and Heavy on Skrull are great hard-hitting fun for casuals like me. :)

Two questions, though: How do you get assists to fly out to continue the combo when you've knocked someone into the air, and how do you unlock the other "episode" movies (like the one that plays when you boot up the game)?

it is normal that the code included in the special edition for jill and shuma gorath gave an error???

I suppose that it will work from march 15...

Well, they're not out yet. Of course it won't work.

Magneto works well, not sure who else would work.

Aerial exchange combos are in the OP. Just hold a direction + S to end your aerial combo as opposed to the standard no direction + S. So for example, S, j. L, M, H, direction + S.

I haven't done Cap's yet but the few I've run across this is how you had to do it.

i hope capcom releases megaman later on. damn capcom has me hooked and i'll probably be buying most of the characters released. won't be buying the extra costume shit since i don't care about that.

I wish i could buy all of it. But without access to PSN soon I'll have to buy the GOTY edition when that comes out :p. I don't mind it though, I want another MvC.

I am right there with you, still waiting on my copy (which for some reason went from Indianapolis to Missouri which isn't actually getting any closer to me here in New Mexico). Stay free Capcom.

I am terrible at this game. 100% terrible. All I ever do is feel like I'm button mashing. I am somewhat decent at Street Fighter but I am just awful at this. I have never been very good at combo dialing in *anything* and it seems that is the absolute key to this one.

Any tips on how to play decently and still not feel like I am just lucking into wins?

me too. i never played MVC2 or TVC so the button layout, combos, partners, etc all feel soooo hard to wrap my "nothing by SF for 12 years" brain around.

I have no idea where to even start, so i'm just doing mission after mission hoping my fingers/brain will start talking.

I seem to be having major problems with defense in this game. any tips? Also She hulk chunners and Phoenix is the team Im having the most success with..

Agreed on this sentiment. I ordered because it ended up costing me 62 dollars for the special edition.

My 360 copy says something about indiana and then no update since then.

Departed Shipping Partner Facility, February 14, 2011, 5:13 pm, FISHERS, IN 46037
Electronic Shipping Info Received, February 15, 2011
Arrived Shipping Partner Facility, February 14, 2011, 12:14 pm, FISHERS, IN 46037

Also why is the tracking out of order like this. Whatever they are whack and I will never order from them again. Shipping partner tracking info was surely done by the fulfiller not usps so however the hell they scanned the package is out of order in some way.

Side note about lag
So I initially thought the lag was okay because there is rarely slowdown but after reading some srk posts and thinking back about my online experience I realize that the input delay is fairly random. Sometimes it seems to stuff or buffer your inputs in a non-constant fashion. I probably just need more practice online.
