What the heck no spectating and no replays. Feels like I am back to two years ago in SF vanilla world haha

cosplayers are welcome; who you goin' as???

Quick question :

I love street fighter with a passion.
I tried the trial for the XBLA version of MvC2 for like 10 minutes against a cpu ( yeah barely gave it a chance ) but it didn't really "click" with me.

Will I get anything different from mvc3? I reckon it goes in the same footprints of it's predeccessor but maybe this time I'll enjoy it more?

Whadda say gaf?

Far as I can tell the most reasonable way to look at it, is like SF4, they couldnt get proper spectating in on time. Instead of junking lobbies like SF4 did though, they put lobbies in and are going to add spectator later.

Just got word, game will most likely be available in the Santa Monica/West LA area by Friday if not earlier. Here's to hoping it holds up.

Is that supposed to be Chun Li in that artwork? Youch. The majority of the artwork used to promote this game has been less than stellar to say the least. =/

Oh you mean one year ago when this team's previous game, TvC lacked them.

2008 was the original release and it was on the Wii. The original comment was right.

Play any versus game like SF and you will get destroyed. At least at higher levels. The games are much more offensive. It's all about constant movements, setting up traps, and mixups.

Already?!

Seph's probably gonna win. :(

I highly doubt that. MVC is a different beast. And there are some very good players on MVC2 on the PSN side unlike the handful of very good SFIV players.

Wait if there's no spectating, are there lobbies? Hrmm... god I don't wanna deal with that 1v1 shit again.

yes, there are lobbies. you just can't see what is happening if you aren't the person fighting.

.

I thought as much, is MvC a balanced yet deep game?

Ugh, there goes one of the best ways to get better. My excitement has been toned down a TON, makes me not even wanna buy the damn thing.

Hey, just making sure. I'm just letting you all know, word on the street is "Thursday" for any place that will get a copy on the east coast that will break street date. Call your mom and pop shops then fellas. I assume the distance means West Coasters may be able to acquire a legal copy as soon as tomorrow morning. Keep your eyes peeled.

Awesome. I am going to keep my eyes out for that.

Only a week to go.

The wait has been so painful I double dipped on XBLA for MvC2 and don't play it. I still have my Dreamcast version.

Cannot wait for this. My arcade stick waits with breath that is bated.

Deep, yes. Balance, no. None of the versus games were really balance. Infinites, glitches, huge gap between tiers, etc.

I know that a top player wrote the guide, but does anyone in the know have an understanding of how useful it really is? Honestly?

Uhh. The first two weren't super balanced. TVC was aside from Zero.

oh :(

_dementia said:
Deep yes. Too early to tell if it's balanced. MvC2 was extremely deep but quite unbalanced.

Well, I'm having a hard time understanding how a rather unbalanced yet competative fighting game could've become soo popular. Hopefully MvC3 will turn out to be "balanced" ( as much as it can get, given the rooster and the whole 3v3 deal ) and it would be great if most/all characters are viable to play regardless of level.

living social or the guide?

The guide/playing the game. I hope team Dallas can make it out to our tourney at the end of the month.

So Houston can crush them :D

Probably not D:

People are going to buy it only to support Buktooth but guides are kinda useless unless from a collecting standpoint when you have places like SRK and Gamefaqs.

XvsSF is one of the most balanced games ever.

It was popular because the top players all chose the same characters who were the best characters in the game.

People like balanced games, but they seem to love broken shit too. Just look at the long tournament lives of games like 3S and MvC2

Figured as much, just thought it might have some real useful early info. Ehhhhhh

Am I the only person perfectly content playing on a Dual Shock 3? I hate the arcade sticks in the sub $100 range, and the awful d-pads on the official fight gamepads have always turned me off. Not prepared to spend more than $100 on a big, good fight stick.

What to do? :(

There are lots of good pad players on GAF. No shame in that.
QisTopTier and Pandaman wrecked shit in SF4 and Blazblue on Dualshocks.

Nothing wrong with using a pad. Or just do what I did and keep an eye out for a dirt cheap SE stick and buy parts for it. I picked mine up for $30 new and just replaced the buttons and stick for like $50ish.
