I'm pretty much a vs game newb, so how are the combos? Are there a lot of 1 frame links like sf4?

Also any infinite online mode in mvsc 3? Like rhe sf4 rooms where a bunch of people can watch the matches?

You need to rewatch your own video. Marn killed Chun with lvl1 x factor but it ran out shortly after the next character was tagged in and Marn didn't have much meter left. The match could have easily turned around but Kurasa just kept getting hit for entirely different reasons.
I'm not referring to that video. I've seen it in other matches. The recent GameSpot tournament for example.

If you have ever played a video game and you are adept at pressing buttons, then you should have no problem linking combos in MVC3. They are way easier than SF4 combos.

There are lobbies, but no spectating between matches.

Links are present like most fighting games, but the engine allows for many more chain combos (think Target Combos in SF terms) because moves can cancel into each other.

If this game had 1 frame links I would of canceled my preorder ages ago. It's all chain combos.

Versus games always had easy links. And almost everything links into everything. (Especially the PSone ports of versus fighters) Capcom made them even more simple as the series went on. From six buttons normals, to four now to three.

Hmm thats a drag about the no spectating mode, it was a great way to learn from other people playing in sf4,,,

Chances are very high that spec mode gets included as DLC.

Hardly, making one mistake will at worst remove one of your characters from play. People forget this is a 3 on 3 game. Hell even with one character + X factor against 3 "naked" characters, it's still a REAL MATCH.

Cant wait, hopefully the Capcom store gets these out today. Dont know if Ive ever been so hyped for a game that Ill just get maliciously owned again and again and again, by GAFers and others online.

Hopefully some of ya'll 360 folk will give me some pointers while we play. "You know that one series.... the one where I combo'd your entire team six-feet underground in a matter of seconds with that spectacular combo that never seem to end.... here's what you SHOULD have done." lol

I think most people (including me) still thinks individually, therefore not realizing a "100%" combo is just a 25-30-33-40% combo in terms of the battle itself in the larger picture. Once everyone accepts this, there will be a lot less stress in the matches.

It looks interesting but that is some fugly art. Why aren't you drawing it? :p Seriously, you'd do a better job.

I'm just curious, because I know you played random select in SSFIV, but why do you just play random?
Had to come back to this since a friend mention you replied to the random question.

There are a bunch of reasons I play Random the first being that it makes you a better player. Knowing how to play as everyone makes you better at defending/attacking everyone. Sure this is something you can gain watching or playing against specific characters, but I don't think that is as effective as actually using everyone.

Next it is tiresome playing as the same character every game. If I wanted to use the same character throughout I would simply buy an action game not a fighter. Variety in a fighting game is what makes it fun. If I can pick any character and still hold my own and win it is more of an accomplishment than if I pick my best character every time.

Another reason is when playing with friends it is a more 'fair' way to play...sure in Street Fighter if I were to pick Ken or Ryu every time my friends may not get many wins but it would be boring, now if I go random and have to win with Viper that makes it more of a challenge and overall enhances my experience with the game.

Take MvC2 for example...no random select. What happens is it becomes tedious to try and decide who to pick every match. With a random button that tedium is taken away.

This is not to say that I always go 100% random select...I would say it is probably closer to 75%. For example in MvC3 I do have teams picked out that I want to use and will (Team RE, Team DS, SF Girls)...but the majority of the time I will be selecting the '?' and will have variety, competition and fun without having to recycle the same characters over and over.

</Random Rant>

I really hope I can manage to get this today, but I'm expecting to be disappointed and will have to cheer myself up by beating dead space 2 and watching community
