It's going to get 7-10 reviews and not because the gameplay is short of being amazing but because the game is very barebones. No tutorial of any kind explaining how to do snap backs, air tags, DHCs, etc. No versus against CPU outside of arcade mode, endings that are 30 seconds long...for the casual player this is by no means the amazingness that it will be for many hardcore fighter fans.
Wait, what?? You can't play versus against the CPU?

Fun fact: Konami code as Dante transforms him into Vergil.
And then you input level select code from Sonic 1 immediately after and he turns into Volnutt!

Oh Capgod, you so crazy.

blazblue has pretty much the worst story in fighting game history. you might be able to think of some cheesier ones, but no other game has cut scenes that are as horrifically long as BB.
You shut up. Hazama is the best troll of the decade.

Wait guys, I'm reading you can versus the CPU in Training, but can you do it so that you can actually be defeated by the CPU, and actually defeat the CPU yourself? The only vs. CPU fighting I've seening in Training is against CPUs with instantly regenerating health. How can you versus the CPU so that their HP depletes for good and the screen actually says "You win?"

It's not pulled out as a separate "mode," but it's easily done in training mode. You pick the dummy team, and then all you need to do is set the training dummy to "CPU" and turn life recovery to "OFF." You can select the difficulty, and just go at it. It's great for practicing against certain teams, and the CPU at the hardest difficulty is, umm, actually hard.

When the CPU (or you) has been killed off, the match just immediately restarts from the beginning. You can change characters whenever you want, or change assists from the menus without even going back to the character select screen.

Is Viper going to be easier to play as than SFIV? My execution is too sloppy to play anything but charge characters in that shit.

Absolutely. That's why I'm making her part of my team :D

Ya know, I think I'd like to see Jester in as Dante's counter part. Or hell, Lady. She'd fit pretty well in the VS universe.
I like Trish being in the game. DMC1 deserves some representation considering it is the best game in the series. ;)

Besides, I can't imagine how Lady would play. Her weapons are already duplicated by Dante/Deadpool.

If you can pull of a QCF and a DP, you do just about anything in MvC3. If anything, it should be easier than playing a charge character.

Edit:

Quoted for truth.

True. Though I could see Lady using a motorcycle launch into her rocket launcher for a super. Ah well. Having Dante and Trish is good enough. :D

That's kinda pathetic really...
No, I jumped the gun -- you can versus the CPU:

Seth Killian answered some concerns about Marvel vs Capcom 3 on Capcom-Unity's Ask Capcom forums today. Some users were concerned that there might be no VS CPU option available.

"Just to cut to the chase here, you can indeed play against the CPU to your heart's content. Against any teams, at any difficult, and even on any stage you choose.

It's not pulled out as a separate "mode," but it's easily done in training mode. You pick the dummy team, and then all you need to do is set the training dummy to "CPU" and turn life recovery to "OFF." You can select the difficulty, and just go at it. The training mode in this game is extremely, extremely good. From the easy record and replay functionality to practice against certain setups, to the huge variety of customizable dummy options, I think it's the best we've ever done. Hope this answers some questions."

On top of this, rumors have been swirling around today that the training mode lacks a Record/Replay function. Seth has said in no less than four interviews now, including this one, that training mode does allow Record/Replay, so lets put this rumor to rest.

If you watched the lullz stream earlier, you saw the guy go into training mode, and verse the cpu.
Did the guy on the stream set the CPU so that its health depleted and it could be KO'd? I trust Seth Killian and all, but still nervous...

Yes. Also, If you beat the team, it just resets automatically.

spidey can't wall jump, weak. I tried at least
Damn...not only should he be able to wall jump, but he should be able to stick to it like Felicia (couldn't he do that in an early Vs. game?). Wall stick would probably be pretty useful now that he has the web zip move.

this is what my friend told me
the text at the beginning says "the heroes are gone"
at the end, "the heroes are here"

or something like that. so i guess it kinda makes sense. still doesn't make it GOOD. :P

The beginning says "There are no heroes in this world . . ." and all the characters are saying YES THERE ARE

At the end she says "There ARE heroes!"

Not literally, but that's my localization for you. :)

I kinda wish I took some Japanese classes. D:

I think Shamalamahaha could make an awesome commercial for it. Show off Megaman, Gene, Strider, then WHAT A TWIST into showing people actually in the game.
