Edge lol

They do this shit to get attention. The justifications for scores, whether high or low, usually sound so arbitrary.

Though for what it's worth, I would have a suspicion someone insisted on a 7 out of butthurt because they got creamed while playing the game. Smells like an Edgeish thing.

lol this is pathetic reasoning

Talking shit about TvC....AGAIN!??!! Really now?

All of the high-damage combos I've seen so far look pretty damn easy (in comparison to a lot of stuff from this game's predecessors), and some of them don't even require X-Factor or significant meter investment. And the problem people have with high-damage output overall is that basic combos will wreck shit so hard that nobody will be encouraged to take their skills to the next level to earn their damage.

I honestly kind of feel this way myself, but not to the point where it's a significant negative overall.

Dont say that on srk or they will bitch at you.

lol this is Edge dude. Their reviews are consistently the worst part of the magazine, and only make sense half the time. They're more concerned with sounding intellectual and giving games numbers that they believe "mean something" in the integrity of the industry's future, or some bollocks.

Can't count the times I've read an Edge review and come away with the distinct impression that the reviewer barely payed attention to the game while playing it, and / or was mainly writing about his personal pet peeves that something in the game triggered.

Every fake/discredited Twitter account that "leaked" stuff blamed every cut feature on network issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of them.
So why this game and not SSFIV? They're on the same engine, and probably share most of the same netcode. How hard can it be to accomplish the same thing on a second game when the framework is already in place?

SFIV isn't on MT framework.

BEHOLD, SHUMA BLAST

I hope Shuma says behold (or that Cyke comes back.)

I don't think you read my post correctly.

"___ isn't in because of network problems" was the go-to reason for every Twitter "leaker" who was making shit up.

If people are worried about big damage, tournament standard can be turned to high health setting perhaps?. Seriosuly, I was going through teams with Sentinel in like 15 seconds...

Traditional fighting game communities are tight wads about straying from standard settings. Why do you think Smash gets so much heat from them? They wouldnt change it even if it is actually a problem, which I'm not convinced it is yet.

Ah, got it. Speed reading is my weakness.

SF4 was developed (engine-wise) by Dimps, no way in hell Dimps used MT framework, Capcom keeps that shit internal.

If the 3DS uses a version of MT framework it's probably because Capcom felt that was the best way to port SSF4 over.

It was fairly common to adjust damage on Tekken 5 for a while, iirc.

But yeah, I don't see the Marvel crowd straying from default config for any reason.

Yep, yep, now that I think about it, it was probably one of them.

"Network problems" and "RAM issues" were the go-to excuses for explaining the exclusion of any feature or character.

Pfffff. "I have no idea what netcode means because I'm not a nerd." This guy is a fucking idiot.
I'm not a nerd. I'm just streaming a videogame over the internet days before launch...

Billychu said:
It isn't? I'm pretty sure the 3DS version is on the mobile version of MT Framework so I was assuming the console version was as well.
No, Dimps had to roll their own because Capcom doesn't like to share.

Played some of this at Best Buy. Unfortunately, it was hooked up to two regular, worn-out 360 pads. Managed to mash some nice combos out with Dante, though.

Still learning more individuals and haven't made any other set teams as of yet.

Team I've used the most: Wesker/Mags/Chun, but my new team is going to be Mag/Phx/Sent

What characters did they have on the demo unit?

Sixfortyfive said:
Actually, I'd say that 100% combos are more concerning on day -5 than after release, personally.
True, I hadn't thought about it that way. Gah, that does sound pretty bad. You're deflating my hype, Sixfortyfive!

Have there been any vids of them being used in an actual game yet? By which I mean, against another person not story mode CPU.

I'm sure people will come up with anti Sent teams, but just know that Sent will be on a lot of teams. He's good, and fits well on many teams.
Noted. In that case I hope that the strategy guide devotes 100 of it's 400 pages to beating Sentinel.

Awesome. I need to call the local one to see if anything's been set up.

I figured this would be on stock 360 pads but I'm prepared to soldier through it.

Because matches take longer than the time limit most of the time.
..... there is more to a match than draining their life. If you can keep people at bay the entire time and win that way nothing wrong with that. I mean people do it in boxing.

Anybody know anything about where to get games early in western PA.

Back in Maryland I know the drill but out here its a no-mans-land. Closest thing I see to a mom and pop store is The Exchange(got them all over the place).

I just did some calling around and got the standard the game "comes out on Tuesday response". Not once did someone say they wouldn't sell it to me but the wording was very specific about the release date. I did not work on baiting out whether they received their copies yet. I had the feeling they have been getting a lot of calls about the game.

Anybody had any experience with The Exchange. I know they are a chain but they seem independently run.
