It was posted in the SSF4 official thread. Apparently some bad ass Capcom rep is taking on all challengers in SSF4 AE. People who beat him will be entered into a 16 man tourney to earn a special player title. Props to Oichi for posting it.

He's pretty good, I haven't seen him lose yet( although I haven't seen every match switching between the 2, and now 3). He also took out Tateyama, who is a pretty good Dhalsim player during that time.
 
I'm glad that you guys are enjoying the streams of the SF event. It's too bad you can't see how much of a clusterfuck it really is.

There's only 8 consoles at the place and they're trying to rush people out the door.

I was at the LA launch party for sf4 so I have some idea(never got in). Capcom fails so hard at community events. you would think they would hire some kind of community manager to get things done.

Place looks small as well. They should have learned from the Super launch that you have to compensate for hundreds of people.

I agree, but they might as well save Demitri and the Midnight Bliss modeling work for (fingers crossed, here's hoping) a new Darkstalkers. Between the success of SF4 and MvC3, the fighting genre is as strong as ever, and could probably accomodate a new Darkstalkers. Not to mention Morrigan, Felicia and Hsien-Ko in MvC3 will generate interest for one.

It's fucking disrespectful. They get all the fans who loved the series for so long to wait for extended periods, have only ONE person working the door, and have employees come to tell people they can't come in.

I'm sure they're gonna say this event was a success too. It's a fucking nightmare and they should be ashamed.

They just disconfirmed Tupac for MvC3 on the stream. Niitsuma-san coming up soon.

Cancelled pre-order cancelled again.

Still in line, but I'm planning on leaving within the 10 or so minutes. I was here for almost 5 hours.

The portion of the line a few feet behind me told to go home.

I hear that you don't need to crouch to dash-cancel in this game (like MvC2), just tap 2 attacks over and over... but other than that, haven't heard much about the wavedashing in this game. So I'm sure it's one or the other, lol.

LoL, I wonder if the gamers would go for that... "New character + 37 new transformations!", I'd be there day one, lol. I'm sure they could make something interesting out of Demitri... but I'll always be bias, DS is the game were EVERYONE is worthy of maining at some point, lol.

And Harem win pose would be like Doom's portable throne 2.0. I'd be very impressed if they pulled it off well in 3D.

Sasquatch... yeah, I can't say I know much of him, lol. He and Victor are pretty nice guys, but I don't think they have world-reaching friendly ambitions... just private, out-of-the-way ones.

Rikuo / Alubath is a bit greedy and narcissistic, which makes him a bit harder to cheer for. But he IS a loving parent, and is doing it for HIS people...

Felicia's ambitions are so "share my joy with the world!", it's really rare for DS!

Very interesting to hear the varying opinions on the game. I'm about to dive in myself. =D

"As far as spectator mode goes, we are working on something like that, and we will have an announcement regarding it soon, but believe we have not forgotten about that and we are sorry we could not get it out for launch."

It better come out in time for the GAF tourney. I am going to try to actually stream all the tournaments now.
 
I have a feeling this game is going to polarize the fan base to some extent. The roster, X Factor, slower pace (compared to MvC2) and modified control scheme are going to piss people off. Then again, what do I know :P I like what I see, but X Factors, for some characters at least, do stupid damage.

I asked this before, but did Eighting do some of the development?

True I hope that's the case.
 
If this game truly plays/ feels like TvC 2, then consider my hype multiplied. Sure, TvC wasn't on MT Framework, but that doesn't mean they couldn't emulate it's mechanics in this game either.

Really, X-Factor has been praised for it's dynamic uses and addition to gameplay. Storm's stupid damage is stupid.

Detractors from the game are in the minority. MvC3 is getting like universal praise and hype pre-release.

I'm still calling greatest fighting game ever made.

I'm hyped as hell. I think we're going to have a repeat of when people bitched about SF4's ultras. Once people learn how to work around them and understand that they aren't going away, things will be alight. But at first, it could be ugly. Mountains of salt....mountains...
