Imagine Sentinel having an unblockable LVL3 grab hyper. @_@

It would probably kill a character alone with X Factor 3.

WOOHOO 100 PAGE POST!!! This thread keeps on rollin'!

Spiderman has a level 3? I read somewhere he didn't have much. Maybe it's one level 1 and one level 3? If he don't, why did they put him with Sent? He don't seem that powerful, just nimble.

After this level 3 lesson it made me think if the webster.

Where are these shops you guys are getting it early from? Anywhere in PA I could snag it from? Possibly like a Target?

Not that I know of. Legit consumers always get fucked. Street date? What's that. Check out a 7-11. I don't have one in walking distance, but they always sell shit early.

Not every character has a lvl3. Spencer doesn't have one either and a few others don't.

But Spider Man is still damn good in this game. He has some nice combos doing 75% that are B&B (can be used in any general condition with only 1 bar). His Maximum Spider on connection does not miss now and his Ultimate Web Throw is UNBLOCKABLE in the air. This allows for Spider Man to make some resets in the air and create a guessing game that can lead to high damage.

Plus he has a lot of ways of annoying the opponent and getting in their faces with his web swings, he can chase down well enough. His combo potential has a lot of synergy now and his supers are better.

Here is a little combo for Spider Man
.

Dunno if this was already said, but for French gaffers living in Paris, you can find the game over at République.
Just got mine.

It's 10AM. My brain and eyes aren't functioning. If he had a level 3. There would be no reason to omit him from your team. He would be your point man or second in slot in every team.

Well, I do not know about that. Sagat was strong in vanilla SF, yet people could go and master whatever they wanted, and deal with Sagat. I hated his design. So do I hate normal Sentinel (Nimrod is INFINITELY BETTER, sorry folks), so I will NEVER choose him, no matter how strong it is.

Ah ok, thanks man. I'll have to look around a bit.

Of course. I'll never play him my self. I hate him. I'm talking about people playing to win, and don't give a shit about anything else.

Hold my Corky :( I'm about to breaaaaaaak

I don't remember what it was I watched or read that explained why he only had 2 Hyper Combos but your explanation brought sounded familiar. Probably Seth in that Thor video. I'm glad he is good, I hope I can use him well.

Can't wait to play this game, but I fear as soon a i go online like in MvC2, it's going to be an exercise in frustration. I feel like in SSFIV, I can find the same skill level opponents pretty easily and always stand a chance. Hopefully the matchmaking will be similar.

Get ready for the ultimate games of ranged attacks, assist beam spams, and keep away. With the win lose on display Sentinel army will be 10,000 strong.

I feel like I'm the only person who holds the opinion that Sentinel isn't all that. And as far as "comeback mechanics" go, X-factor is leagues better than Ultra Combos; with X-factor, at least both opponents are on even ground in regards to their access to the mechanic.

Video:
I loved DMC3, and enjoyed looking at youtube videos of the crazy combos people came up with. Dante was in a 3D world fighting game where you fight the computer, and one on one arena boss fights (man vs man). Now we get to fight other people with his acquired tools. Too bad DMC seem to be going down a hill now, and Bayonetta isn't Capcom.

Ultra meter vs Xfactor:
Yep, I think people will adjust to it's awesomeness soon. Xfactor makes the fight a bit more interesting than not having it. That pawn can turn into a Knight (lv1), Bishop (lv2), or friggin Queen (lv3)

I just hope Sentinel is not gonna be like SFIV Sagat. That sucked. I wanna see variety. If this is going to be a Sentinel fest, I fear I'm gonna burn out pretty quickly. That's why I was kinda bummed at the last character reveal. It was looking like there was going to be a wide range of characters used, then bam, at the last minute, they unveil Sentinel, and it looks like MvC2 all over again with everyone in the world jumping on him. Hope Capcom did their balancing job right so he's not miles above everyone else.

He has 3 hypers, all lvl 1s.

Right now I would say that taking out Sentinel for being a little OP (not unbeatable and not true god status like in MVC2) and Ryu + maybe Captain America (haven't seen much of him aside from a few tricks/combos) for not being all that, every character in between is solid enough. They have something that will allow them to be played in competitive games whether it be a solid keep away game, an insane rushdown game, a crazy good assist or just a very good all around game.

Of course this is like day -4 assessment but I believe in this. I truly believe that Capcom has a winner on their hands. Their policy to this game was excellent: In order to preserve the MVC2 magic, keep the "god" characters mostly unchanged and bring everyone else to their level. That's why you have so much "OMG THOR CAN TAKE OUT AN ENTIRE CHARACTER IN ONE COMBO WTF!!!" going on right now, suddenly the concept of another character taking out Sentinel 100% is weird to people.

So wong is saying he loves it.

Edit: capcom store has still not shipped my game.

SAME HERE, man. I feel your pain. =( Luckily for me, a friend got an early copy, so we're going to go to campus and gather everyone to play tomorrow.

Sure doesn't play like street fighter.

was kidding, the link takes you to a recorded session of SSF4.
Everybody calm the fuck down, I got this!

Got a ? for anyone with the game:

If you press a L+M+H macro button by itself, does it result in a light or a heavy?

EDIT: In the instances that it doesn't result in a dash, anyway.

According to THIS, C. Viper can kill ANYONE from 100% with X-Factor and 0 meter at the start.

Continuing to main Viper confirmed :)

C.Viper might be the best character in the game, but wasting meter is a much easier decision than burning your x-factor. I'd easily drop a few bars over it. Plus, it's not like the combo doesn't cost meter.

C.Viper is an excellent character but that combo DOES require 1 meter, there is a super tagged to the end (QCB+2A). And that's basically par for the course here, starting off a character with X Factor and you can generally kill off most characters with just one super.

To that other guy who asked about Trish: Trish is extremely solid and has a bunch of fancy tricks. Projectile super that can be used in the air and can hit enemies OTG. Specials that trap opponents and restrict their movements especially aerial movements. Assist also traps. She can fly and can do the 8 way air dashing. She has a tracking projectile super that does insane chip damage and a cool looking LVL3 super. She can play rushdown, keep away/runaway or be in a team designed to chip away at enemy health slowly. JWong likes her a lot and he pairs Trish with Chun-Li and Storm. I would say her only weakness is that like all characters of her type she takes more damage than others but it's nothing to get too worried about.

Nice! Thanks for the info and the OT!

I did say 0 meter at start. Which means she builds up the neccessary meter for the ex in the combo itself. Which is pretty cool imho.

A lot of rushdown characters do the same, as in build up meter over the course of the combo. Check out the Felicia/Wolverine/X-23/Taskmaster combos too. Felicia builds meter like crazy. I would say that as far as meter building goes, Dante is pretty high on that list too because of the style cancels he does all over the place.

What's a WOMBO COMBO? I hear that being thrown around a lot in fighting game threads.

Maybe I should youtube it see what I can find.

*Watches on Youtube* Oh WTF it's a SSBM 2 on 2 combo. :| Just a crowd overreaction although I don't play SSBM so I can't comment on the skill level involved (probably pretty insane because the reaction was just ridiculous).

Yeah I expect to see a lot of these "wombo combos" from MVC3 in the upcoming weeks especially at EVO.

Most hype moment in Smash Bros Melee history. It's like the Smash version of Daigo's parry.
