Speaking of my main man Joe, what is the general consensus on Joe vs. 50Sent? Can Joe have the upperhand due to size and the Viewtiful God Hand? I am not a fan of mecha sex but I will get my hands dirty with hot oil if I have to.

:lol wha? So a regular sized Arthur would be srs business but because he's short it like a "party game?" It's just height. What's the difference playing with huge characters like Sentinal?

You can still use reg strats to hit Sent. You have to change how you combo the little guys. But thats just one of their advantages.

LOL Doom takes out an almost full Hsien-Ko with one LVL3 Hyper while being on LVL3 X Factor.

Doom OP god tier WTF is Capcom thinking etc.

(He still lost the game because the other guy had a full team)
I thought Doom was supposed to have been somewhat nerfed? So he has a stong LVL3 with LVL3 x-factor, I think that describes everyone in the game.

OK so it makes fighting certain characters more unique, but that brings it into party game zone now? I don't get that.

Get your detector checked. Think its broken.

I'm really loathing playing as any of the cartoonier characters, just like in MvC2, particularly the smaller ones like Amaterasu or Arthur. Just feels wonky, takes me out of the fighting game feel and into a party game zone. Feels like Smash Bros. =/

Seriously?

This thread moving fast as usual lol. Here's a repost
X-23 50perSent

Messing with X-23 and trying to find some sentinel destroyer stuff since she has the potential to stick on him like glue. I'm now looking into ways to go into her level 3 via assist or x-factor.

"imo the game SHOULD be more about out-thinking and having better strategies than your opponent, rather than who can remember the longest button string. I understand those who are for both, but that's just locking out a huge amount of players who don't have time to dedicate 14 hours a day to master this shit."

There are always going to be players who spend more time playing than you and eventually get better than you. What you're basically saying is that you want to be as good as someone who is putting in way more effort than you.

correct you don't take chip.
It's not really that you don't take chip, it's more like chip damage is negated by red health healing in X-Factor mode, and in some cases the chip is less than the regen rate and you still gain a bit of red health while being hit with chip damage.

I don't care for the massive ones like Hulk or Sentinel either. :(

I guess I'm one of the only players that doesn't like the wackier characters. Which I guess is half the MvC cast on average, haha.

Question for the DMC nerds in the house:

Which version of Dante is exhibited in the game? I'm out of the loop as to who was actually who in DMC3/4 -- I was told you don't actually play as Dante in those games, but just someone who looked like him, and that the real Dante showed up, or something? MvC 3's Dante kind of looks like DMC1's, in DMC3's outfit...but having Trish around makes me think this is the original guy?

Sentinel's win quote

"Battle data indicates excessive force was not necessary"

How ironic.

WTF at chunli

Nice! I am looking forward to whatever you can learn in defeating 50Cent. X23 looks interesting to use, actually. I may try her out.

I think that we had this same conversation in every fighting game related thread.
Every. Single. Time.

Oh and in before someone says that Brawl is better than 3rd Strike ! ;3

Sarcasm detector. Get.

My point is that people were up in arm that Sentinel killed off a character with LVL3 X Factor in a combo. Well Doom just did the same, no one is making a fuss about it. Everyone is so fixated on Sentinel like in that ASS team (Arthur/Sentinel team). Sentinel gets rocked but it's Arthur with that insane keep away that ends up taking the match.

It kind of reminds me of a dude who who shows up to the park to play basketball every now and then and is mad that he can't make baskets as often as the dudes who are there every weekend.

DMC3/4 Dante was the real Dante. The one in this game is DMC3 Dante.

Yeah, I know it's all perception. But I hate the different hit-box sizes and wish characters chosen for the game were more similar in size. It's the reason why I wish characters that were more conducive to...hand-to-hand/physical combat fighting styles like Gambit, Beast or Nightcrawler were around, and why I wish Zero was granted a model at full height.

Ah, so there weren't clones or anything? There was always just the one Dante, and this is him in this game? My only real knowledge of Dante is from DMC1 (and sadly, DMC2), so that's all I know of him.

played a bunch w/ my friends last night... zero definitely made my main team. not sure who will fill the other 2 roles et.

It's not that level 3 x-factor sent kills in a combo, it's that he kills in like 3 standard hits.

Sorry brah, when it comes to Doom I'm all business.

Yeah... against Phoenix. :/

Pretty sure Hulk and Thor can do the same. Hell I beat one throw from LVL3 Thor can kill Phoenix.

Just one Dante but the main character of DMC4 is named Nero and he does look like Dante.

Played this last night with Dandy J and some other Columbus folks. It was my first time playing so he taught me and some other people shit in training mode. He also tried some stuff in the lab that amazed me. Here's some random thoughts from a scrub:

  • Lei-Lei is kinda ass. Don't get me wrong, she can do really good damage, but she has limited options to get in to do that damage. Slow air/ground dash is what's hurting her. A lot of the people I talked to are the same way. Even with Sent's assist (one of the best in the game), there's not enough time for her to get in. Hopefully, someone makes her work later on...
  • As everyone knows, Sent's retarded easy to play and does big damage. X-Factor w/ Hyper Sentinel Force chipouts and shit.... lol
  • Spencer's Bionic Arm HC is invincible on startup and will pretty much stuff anything from half-screen. So you can't counter HC unless you use hailstorm or something. Spencer can X-Factor when blocking a beam hyper (Shinkuu or Proton Cannon) and do the HC from about half-screen and go through it, but the timing is really difficult.
  • Akuma (who's pretty good, btw) can do the same thing with Raging Demon. Again the timing is difficult as fuck, but it looks cool to go through a beam like that. Good for trolling!
Dandy's going to be making some new homo-genius videos too! :D

I don't know who told you your information but every Dante featured in a DMC game has been the real Dante (except for maybe DMC2 which us DMC fans don't really claim to exist). Your source confused him with Nero in DMC4. In DMC4 you play both Nero and Dante and in DMC3 you play both Dante and Vergil.

The one featured in MVC3 is DMC3 Dante. He looks slightly different because it's the first time DMC3 Dante is featured in a next-gen game. He looks a bit older but it's definitely DMC3 Dante. And having Trish in the game makes it confusing to say the least because she couldn't have met DMC3 Dante prior especially with the Sparda sword.

TLDR: MVC3 Dante = DMC3 Dante

Yeah, which is why I thought what Wong was saying was silly.

So it's easier to pull strings that were harder in MvC2, does that mean that high level players won't get even better, and come up with new strategies after putting more time and effort into the game, thus out-performing the cheap players?

The obvious answer is of course they will, but we'll see. Only time will tell.

And then you have Ninja Theory Dante aka Dantard aka Meth Dante.

Chun Li is a fucking beast, she can cross you up so fast you wouldn't even know what hit you. Heel drop, dash into lightning kicks from the other side. Her assist is monstrous and it was JWong who really abused this at first (now it's just "solid" play).

Hypothetilol question time: Which one of these things would make the game a lot better in your opinions:

- Dropping Sentinel from the game.
- Dropping XF from the game.

It seems these two are the most abused and complained about issues so far.

IMO, dropping XF. Sentinel is easy enough to deal with.
