Holy shit, the last part with Zero X-Factoring Sent and Storm to hell. Fuck that was awesome.
That's a LVL 3 hyper that killed both characters. Neither Storm nor Sentinel have it. Does unscaled damage. Magneto has it too and Marn used it in at least 2 of the earlier matches to kill off a character.

And it has a part 2 and part 3 for that video too. Part 3 has the Phoenix stuff.

I've said I'm gonna do it every day for over a year now :lol ... I don't know why I haven't done it yet!

I think it's a bunch of FUD. I'm getting ps3 version because I'm not gonna pay for xbl. Too bad I only have a 360 stick :( Gonna rock pad on this one.

Deadpool should have been given at least 3 randomly generated phrases per Special Move. I think the character's great, but listening to him spam does get stupid repetitive and obnoxious.

Blocking is a lost art...too many people just keep pressing buttons nowadays.

To be fair, the chip damage in this game is so nuts that one could argue it encourages risk-taking, especially this early on when people are still trying to figure out what's safe and what's not.

Also, whoever it was pages back that posted the properties of Charging Star / Final Justice setups, thank you. Looks like there's lots of potential for abuse there.

Chip is not that bad once you get AG down.

I felt the same way about it, but then I read a Deadpool comic and realized that they did that on purpose.

Re: PS3 version. I have been playing the PS3 version since Thursday and I have not noticed any slowdown or lag (offline arcade and versus play) and my friend and I have had some crazy ass matches.

I wouldn't flip out over 1 random claim from someone playing a "non disc version" which I assume meand pirated. I didn't notice anything but I'm not a random SRK player with a single negative impression so pay no attention to me ;)

Good to know then. I was already looking at my options for a stick on the 360. lol

Custom soundtracks?

So, I preordered the SE through Best Buy. What should I expect? It sounds like they'll send me an email at some point and tell me what I "need to bring." Anyone do this before, and how has your experience with them gone?

I GOT IT URLEYYY

Played for about an hour, letting the kids enjoy it for a while until I hop back on.

I pre-ordered the SE from Best Buy on the 30th, and this is how it has gone so far:

1) Ordered, card charged.
2) Get e-mail saying they wouldn't charge until "availability was confirmed," so I figure I'm in the clear since they already charged it
3) Few days ago, charge mysteriously disappears from pending transaction history; no e-mail explaining it whatsoever
4) Still no e-mail after close to a week

Soooooooo, either they're going to re-charge it on Monday or Tuesday... or e-mail me about the cancellation. Either way, I've had no communication from them even before this weekend, so I won't be pre-ordering anything from them online again. I also still have the receipt, so maybe I'll still be able to pick it up and have it charged then. Very weird, at any rate.

I apologize but I don't even know how I would begin to try this. lol I don't have any music loaded onto my PS3. I've never tried that with any game. =x

Just ordered the game + a Mad Catz FightStick SE.

First arcade stick ever!

I've rocked a SE for the past year or so. It's a really nice budget stick, especially if you replace the buttons and stuff.

Learning a new game plus learning how to play with a stick at the same time seems like it would be frustrating though.

A few of my friends are buying this, and I kinda sorta want in on it. The thing is, I've never really gotten into a fighting game before.

So I've got a few questions:

Is this a good fighting game to start with?

Is this worth 60-70 for someone who rarely plays fighting games?

4 button configuration and PS3 make this statement true. I love my sticks but Marvel is just fine on a regular pad unlike 6 button games.

:D nice

Yes and Yes. The game by all accounts appears to be easy to get into. Losts of variety too so it's worth the asking price. You should have lots of fun with it as long as you play dudes on your level (and it's a new game, so there will be plenty of new blood). Having local friends to play with is always a plus too.

Yeah it's a good game to start with. The Marvel VS series has always intended to be more noob-friendly than most fighting games.

Probably not worth the money though if you're not a fighting game fan or Marvel fan. Wait for it to go down in price. There's fun to be had, but not worth it if you're only gonna play it a couple times.

360 or PS3?

If you rarely play fighting games or get bored of the genre's games quickly and will never pick it up again, I'd have to say you have to make that critical call on whether this is a good investment for you. This above anything else.

That said, the $60-70 game that is MvC3 is probably the best value for money today for new fighting games, and has a huge following. There is a simple mode to help get you accustomed to mechanics and strategies without the worry of control execution, but you'd eventually want to learn (or IMHO, jump straight into) the normal control scheme everyone will be using as it also allows you to use character's complete movesets. I won't say it's the most noob friendly fighting game, but certainly is more than Street Fighter and the like if you need a reference point. I'm going to regurgitate that it's the best "instant gratification fighter," with the least work you can still pull off the most awesome combos and feel like a boss.

Also, this game is made of raw hype.

Yeah I'm watching a bunch of 10-14 year olds play on my ps3 right now (with their dirty, unwashed hands all over my white pad ffuuuu) and the game doesn't look amazingly scrubtastic despite the fact they have no clue what they're doing. Its not like BBCS where the game doesn't even look right unless its some high level play going... its a breeze by fighting game standards.

HOWEVER the moment you start asking questions is the moment that the game hits you with a troll face.

Something good did come out of this.

I found an open PS3 Special Edition preorder at a gamestop so at least I will have that SE up until the scamcom store ships me 360 SE

I don't play fighting game typically, but MvC and Smash Bros. are the only two I can get into. I think it's a more n00b friendly series that most. MvC3 is suppose to be even more so.

That's a judgment call. I played SSBB for 90 hours and am hoping to get at least half that many hours of of MvC3. You have friends to play with, so I'm sure you'll get your money's worth.

PS3
To be fair, there isn't much high-level play to compare it to yet!
