Yeah i think we are up the creek without a paddle on this one. Maybe they will surprise us, but if they make any changes it will probably be fairly minimal when it comes to UI. I'd take a kick option, lag bars and spec mode over UI any day.

Wednesday Night Fights starting that MVC3

Update:

1. Weds Night Fights ranking card system will seed players by skill into Tournament Legacy's Revelations! The average scores of all seasons will determine your respective seed for MvC3 and SSF4 brackets!

2. WNF MvC3 tournament will have a $5 Buy-In! Better practice up kids because everybody wants the title!

3. Tekken 6 added to the Weds Night Fights ranking card system!
TK6 Tournament Directors: Rip/Rickstah!

wait, no lag bars, as in there's no way to know how good your connection to your opponent is? online's basically unplayable til they patch that, wtf
 
If they can just get in spectator and able to see online bars for connections, I'm okay with everything else really. But really. Cmon. Fucking Tekken got it right at least.

This game is really cut and dry bare bones in the online department from what I keep reading. This is the area I really feel fighting games the most need to keep advancing in to garner sales not just with hardcore, but more so the casual/semi hcore crowd.

It's fine if the Marvel team was doing their own thing to stay distinct from Street Fighter, but to ignore the whole GENRE in what is going on that is being applauded, becoming the staples, and what fans expect is past smh worthy.

At first I woulda been fine paying for replay channels and spectators in lobbies as DLC, but if it isn't free I'm going to pissed off, as I will take it this was their plan all along. Which really better not be the case.

Right now I'm really excited to get to play it in a day, but I do have to say a TON of the hype has been shit on for me learning about so many bad design choices.

Well I had to call off today due to a unforseen emergency, then later I called around for fun (and desperate hope) and well..rest is history.

I work tommorow and got tuesday off, s'all good bro, it's worth the wait.

I don't think you can even back out of a ranked match either, it just forces you into a game.
 
Don't know about Cap, but his shield is S-tier.

Some... I haven't messed around with Viper too much but its gone through enough in my brief time with the game to be slightly annoyed by it. She's pretty fun to play as though. Dude had Chun and Viper and was fucking shit up. They compliment each other extremely well.

yeah seemed like nerdjosh was forced to play whoever he was matched with. guess without a lag bar being able to backout is not very useful.

I'll take that into heavy consideration. Chun is a fucking beast alright. Just need to figure out a keep away game cause those two seem very heavy rush down. I have too many team ideas to test out and don't have the game. Blaaaaaah.
 
Also first time playing arcade, Galactus was very DIFFICULT! It was only after I learned the X-Factor I was able to beat him, that and now that I'm better with a few characters.

Hahaha, seriously Capcom, where the hell were these guys when SSFIV, hell VANILLA SFIV, were being developed. Talk about a major step backwards in terms of online implementation.

After all this bullshit with different japanese developers, I am PRETTY SURE they are forbidden to play OTHER games when developing one. Or else SOMEBODY had to realize in their office how much superior SSFIV or even SFIV will be to this online system.

I just cant believe that in 2011, there is a development studio (or more!) out there where creators of the genre does not realize what rivals do, or do not even play them.. horrible.

Hell, there are connection bars in MVC2(!) on XBLA/PSN...
 
Capcom is clearly trolling with the online implementation. They want that SMvC3 money.

All that online stuff is kind of bizarre, but in terms of practical purposes I don't see it being a large problem. Ranked matches in SF4 and SSF4 I've always put it at local region only and I've only ran into maybe a dozen laggy matches in the whole time I've played them.
 
also big note, played Sent as soon as I unlocked him. Jesus...man, Lotta people gonna be salty bout him. Let's just say arcade mode became a joke as soon as I had him on my team.

I also love trish, gonna use her in future teams, as well as Shulk and Tron.

lol, also about unlocking things.

literally anything you do like training mode will unlock everything including characters

I unlocked all characters inside an hour

They're both rushdown sure, but their assists are what compliment each other (probably should've been more specific). You get someone into a corner or even pin them to the edge of the stage with either and its pretty much a rap.

I thought advance guard would be a big deal but its really not. I got a giant losing streak to Chun/Viper/Haggar tonight as proof.

P.S. Haggar's lead pipe means business.

If I restrict matches to my region, and if I'm really lucky, I run into 1 player during peak times, so I'm forced to rely on playing against European people and without bars I'm pretty much fucked.

Please answer with out spoiling anything specific.

If the game has unique endings for each character, and a team is made up of three fighters, what determines whose ending is shown when the game is finished?

No double jump, and Final Justice lost it's impact from the CPS2 games. There's no satisfying cry of "AHHHHH!" and there's no explosion. Final Justice wasn't done justice that's for sure. And his MvC3 theme sucks compared to the CPS2 games.

Edit: So there is an explosion, but it doesn't have that Booming sound!
