My goal his to tame him, he is my favourite video game character followed shortly by Bayonetta.

Oh how I wish Bayonetta was in this game, I would love to have a face off with Bayonetta and Dante. (Yeah I know not Capcom but she would be perfect.)

Welcome to 1994.

Yeah they were missles back then but still.
I figured he had them in MvC2 at least, but I haven't played the game in forever, so I had no clue.

Funny, I do have Children of the Atom, but only played for maybe an hour or so. I really should bring out the old Saturn.

Should be getting my copy today from Capcom. I hope. I better.

This has been the longest weekend ever. :(

"DAT" is like the best internet meme ever! Whoever came up with dat shit is a fucking genius.

Capcom just shipped my SE, although I opted for standard shipping.

Ditto. They must have just pushed through another round of orders or something.

Talk about awesome timing, I'm going to be getting my PS3 back from Sony and MvC3 on the same day! (crosses fingers)

The SRK MVC3 wiki is pretty well done.

It's kind of cool waking up to see the SRK MVC3 wiki today. When I visited SRK for the first time in the year 2000, the site was originally mostly a strategy guide to MVC2 and had the first video tutorials I had ever seen for the game.

I think the site's founders realized that they dropped the ball by not capitalizing on the SF4 hype and they lost a lot of traffic to EventHubs as a result. Glad to see SRK is trying to be the go-to site!

Thank you for ordering from Capcom Entertainment, Inc. on February 8, 2011.

We are contacting you to inform you that the following product(s) have shipped. If you paid by credit card, your credit card has now been charged.

Product SKU Product Name Qty Ordered Qty Shipped Total Qty Shipped Amount
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
33036 Marvel vs Cap 1 1 1 $62.99
N/A Marvel vs Cap 1 1 1 $0.00

So basically, MVC3 and HDR have the same online features. Since one of the big reasons fighting games have come back as strong as they have is because of the proliferation of online play, there's really no excuse for shit being so bare bones.

Wait wtf

2/11/2011 07:37 PM Electronic Shipping Info Received Lino Lakes, MN 55014

Could that mean it will arrive today or tomorrow or are they just effing with me. Got shipping confirmation today but it shipped on the 11th? I'm not buying it.

Hahahaha congrats to MThanded and all the other bros that got their orders shipped.
Mine still hasn't shipped yet ;_;

They set up the shipping electronically on the 11th. They just planned/prepared to ship it on the 11th, it doesn't mean it shipped then.

has this been posted?

8/10

i'm personally happy that it's more accessible than SF4, though i wish it was fleshed out more. can't wait for tomorrow!!

It seems like a lot of reviewers are complaining about unlocking content(as in they want to unlock a ton of shit) or the online modes. Capcom could have locked half the roster, gotten marginally higher scores, but chose to please fans instead at the cost of casual review scores.

This game was originally scheduled for spring(April-ish), it got bumped up. I feel that it was rushed out, but to the point where anything could be fixed via patch/dlc.

Late to this by a lot but what's everyone's favorite character themes so far? Right now, I heard a full quality version of Dante's and oh God, so many good memories of that ballin' ass DMC3 trailer are coming back to me. That + all the Mahvel hype and the new mix of Devils Never Cry puts me in auto hype mode.

I'mma be so pissed when someone cancels that theme by tagging in their extra. :lol

I didn't get this from that review at all...

Am I the only person who thinks fighting game reviews are completely worthless? What exactly are you looking for in the review that will sway your purchasing decision?

It's not like El Fuerte's?

Looks like I'm the only one who is going to get it late :'(

nope :), I couldn't give a rats ass if they gave ssf4 or marvel 6s,7s or 9s or 10s.

tells me how many unlockables I should be looking for. if the game has less things to collect than donkey kong 64, it has failed.

Nope. I'm 100% with you bro. If this got a 1/10 I'd still buy it and play the shit out of it. Gaming journalism isn't exactly very respectable across the board either, so reviews period don't mean shit to me.

Yeah, by the time a fighting game is out, so many people in the community have played it that you know whether it's good or not.

the score of course

can't enjoy fighting games with under 90% metacritic

pre-order canceled, thanks to eurogamer for helping me save $70 dollars on a game with only 4 secret characters. terrible standards in fighting games these days.
What did they give SSFIV what with its 0 unlocks?

I dunno why capcom went that weird route with it

down down to go in "run stances" and press forward or back and attack for wall dive or run...

its just weird, never delt with a run or charge move like that before

"For a game conceived in the bed of fan service, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 arguably does too little for fans of its various mythologies outside of the characters themselves. There are precious few unlockables here."

One of the few complaints.

Yes, they are completely useless since reviewers in general aren't really fighting game buffs. I wouldn't really look to them for validation.

To be fair the Eurogamer review is the best and most informed yet, they know their stuff and researched, just don't hold the game to the same critical standards of a few hyped forum members. Completely crucial elements for mid to high level play (audiences they already try to cater to with mission mode), such as DHC and snapbacks go COMPLETELY unexplained. One of the biggest weaknesses of the genre is them trying to be newbie friendly and yet only hitting half of the bullet points to completely inform the player. It's pretty damn counterintuitive.

One of the others said it wasn't a deep fighting game or some stupid shit like that.

I'm happier if the game had 0 unlockable characters, I wan't to be able to play everybody from the getgo

I don't get this complaint. You'd think a better story mode would be more important for fan service than UNLOCKABLES!

Slightly fixed.

My Tactics Ogre is shipping. My MvC3 is not yet shipping. FIX IT, AMAZON!

only has 4 attack buttons dude, of course it isn't deep. 4 ATTTTTTTTTTTTACK BUTTONSSSSS. we need some standing fierce punch/kick to win over the reviewers.

A wise man once said, that kicking.. punching.. it's really all in the mind.

I'm paraphrasing, of course.
