Hmm... so far, I've settled on Wesker and Trish as 2/3rds of my team. Not sure who to roll with for my thrid. Deadpool is pretty good, but I still love Hsein-ko as well. lol

Is it really that hard to understand why people would ragequit over Arthur spamming daggers and lances with that Sent assist? It's the ultimate scrub killer team and even some of the really good players have a hard time dealing with it. Out of all the teams and tactics we've seen so far it has to be hands down the most lame.
I think it's about time someone made an Arthur version of "Deal with it.gif".

You JUST got the game, your assumptions are a little silly. Easier execution and accessibility don't take away depth from the mechanics ever. Is MVC3 missing anything from MVC2?
Tech rolling

Okizeme game is that of tvc though.

Im still not sure. MvC4 needs to be 5v5, can't freaking choose my team. Too many awesome characters.

Im interested in Zero, Wesker, Wolverine, Phoenix and Amaterasu.

I'm just saying.. stuff like time attack, survival mode.. It's not that big a deal, is it?

I mean, I didn't play those modes on SFIV after having a go on them a few times. The meat was in the online play.

I can totally understand from a 'casual' point of view, say, if you wanted to fiddle with the game for a few weeks then get rid of it; however, if we're talking about it from the other end of the spectrum, it's a moot point. You won't be playing survival mode religiously in 10 years - you'll be fighting against other players online, at events or whatever..
The other end of the spectrum does not matter because they'll buy it no matter what.

Alright guys, the local video game store is having an MvC3 tournament tomorrow. I have some SF4 experience (but primarily Dhalsim; there doesn't seem to be a good analog in MvC3, except maybe MODOK?), and I've played a demo of MvC3 at a convention, but I don't know much and won't have time to really practice.

Winning is clearly out of the question, but does anyone have advice on a newb-friendly, easy-to-execute tactic that might help me get past the first round, at least? I saw a video of L3 X-Factor Dark Phoenix unleashing some massive hurt; is that something that could be done without practicing with her?

EDIT: Sounds like Arthur/Sentinel projectile spam might work?

I see tech rolling in MVC3.
as I understand it their is a sort of forced tech roll in mvc3, but its only after certain moves, you can roll left or right, but you're still vulnerable to otg attacks.

Glad to see online isn't broken. But that still leaves me with either updating to OFW to play online or just playing offline (which seems a bit silly). Or I could just buy another ps3 for online play. Dammit! Tough choice.

And you don't :P

Its not an assumption. Its starting to look like a general consensus...

Accessibility has nothing to do with anything either. Execution is only part of it.

But what is it missing? 15 clone characters, infinites, Tyrant, online components...

Projectile spam, turtle, stay in corner, never engage. Learn Bread 'n Butter for these characters when the opportunity arrives.

Arthur/sent where it's at for that. Maybe Doom.

lol @ the captions of those screens.

"Above: Ryu vs Wolverine, then and now. We've come so far in 10 years "

"Above: Hulk looks a much healthier shade of green... if green can ever be described as such"

"Above: If anything, the animated 3D Spidey has more movement and drama than the hand-drawn sprite "

More drama?

I'm just going to walk away here and go back to MvC's training mode.

Arthur/sent spam is a lot harder than it looks... especially when you first pick up the game. The speed of other characters will throw you off big time.

Suck it, I'll have it tonight baby!

What is the general consensus saying?
General consensus: Funnest game. Really Capcom? Fuck it, take my money. (In that order)

WRONG >:(
3D > 2D Sprites of varying quality.

The charisma of 2D sprites is overstated by long time fans of the genre unwilling to accept change and variability/

Real talk, that SRK guide is the business.

Iron Man's Level 3 Hyper:
Iron Avenger (Level 3 Super) is insanely fast and completely invincible. Having 3 levels stocked can really limit your opponent's options, as you can stop or punish usually nonpunishable techniques.

Fact. But I never made a point that argued this, so I don't know what your getting at.

I could accept that if MVC3 wasn't ugly as fuuuuuuuuck.
Wrong.

Oh shit double post, mah bad.

So would a bunch of people on Capcom Unity before the user poll mysteriously vanished.

Wow, just found the results. Gambit and Venom came in at #1 and #2 most requested. Seems like there's a good chance they'll be coming.

Edit: Maybe Nightcrawler?

C. Viper is a good addition to that team if you're interested in her. A friend of mine is using a Trish/Viper/Wesker team and it's pretty damn impressive.

Still loving my Wolvie/Sent/Phoenix team. Now that I'm getting my Phoenix combos down it's easy to fuck with people who think they are screwing me by not letting me get Dark Phoenix.

I don't. I rather see new faces rather than old.

I think DLC should consist of old faces. Please fans of the series or people who were let down by the roster. It's also not really fair to newer characters to be introduced as DLC, they really won't get their chance to shine. Save NEW characters for Super MVC3.

1 new/1 old per pack would please me personally.

Here's hoping they use the new Venom:

See, I thought about C. Viper as well. (Team Deal With It since they all wear sunglasses of some sort) I've never been very good with her though. =/
