I kinda miss M.Bison, but it's already hard for me to figure out how to build a proper team from the current roster so yeah.

Currently using Trish/Deadpool/Zero, not sure about anything but whatever we've got plenty of time.

I have no clue. Never had an urge to play MODOK nor has anyone that I've played with so far. Your guess is as good as mine :/

Taskmaster's shield is clearly inferior to Cap's though.

I played a guy who was running away with Arthur, and constantly throwing up Modok shield assist.

I only could get to arthur in the air anyway, so it wasn't really doing much...

ANYONE WHO HAS USED AKUMA - I can't get the teleport to work with an S tap. Only if I hold it for a second. Is this how its supposed to be, or am I doing something totally wrong?

I know people love the game so much, and I was late to get into it, but SF3 isn't a game I think of when I think "good 2D in motion." *shrug* Really disliked some of the trails on supers.

Your opinion is invalid.

Today's classes have ended , Tuesday classes couldn't come come faster! I'm literally going to play for 10 hours straight as soon as I get home tomorrow, screw my assignments. I should just skip Wednesday too, LOL.

Well I found that old MvC3 fake that everyone went nuts for back in the day. Just for giggles.

As I recall people were posting it YEARS after the original AFJ.

Shame on you
for getting the game so early, three more days :(

Well I mean in terms of the general animation quality, let's ignore individual special effect quality for now.

That said, 3D can still look as good in motion as a well-done 2D, and it's loads cheaper, but there are things you can do in 2D that you can't in 3D.

Doom rules, he can dash cancel his normals, then jump cancel his dashes, then dash as soon as he jumps. So any normal he has is IADable.

As hard as that sounds, it makes for an amazingly fun thing to do.

I have a notorious history of not being able to do university, and today I had 8! consecutive hours of math classes - time flies this way! Tomorrow, there is only one class, but... but if I get MVC3 in the morning...welll!

Like what?

The animations were great, but the overall presentation is lackluster.

Look like it'd be easy enouugh to replicate now, minus Sagat of course

is he the only one who can do that?

So probably going to set up a stream with Magus1234 tomorrow, mostly all day, going over the game and palying people online. We have two internet connections too so it should work out real nice. :D

That's amazing, can't wait to play around with him :]

WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU WANT KEN

Like the SF4 stuff Giant Bomb seems to make it sound like theres no point in playing unless you practice all day to be the best player ever. After going on about that they'll say something along the lines of "I don't have time for that" and move on. What happened to just playing for fun with friends or letting matchmaking attempt to do its job online?

They're complaining about C.Viper being in over Guile and Ken. I love you guys, but this is where I close the stream.

No kidding. Ken seriously? Ken? His exclusion is one of the main reasons I'm so hyped for MvC3. I LOATHE that bastard in SSFIV mainly because of the style of player he attracts: douche bag noobs in large part. If you want team shoto play SSFIV.

C-Viper is perfect for this but I wouldn't complain if a caped M. Bison made it in as DLC.

When you want to accentuate things like shading and light and stuff, to make things look drawn, etc.

Things like the shading on the MVC2 Kikosho aren't really feasable in 3D (which is probably why it looks more like a black hole then an anime explosion in MVC3 - still looks awesome, but different)

Yea I dont understand that, this game is easy to get into.

My bet is the enormous amounts of moves, combos, team strategies, cancels and terminology is what they are referring too. Not the ease to do combos and the forgiving inputs and simplified controls.

For a beginner I can see how this game could be a mouthful...did you see that strategy wiki god damm ;). Street fighter had those 1 framers and difficult combos but I guess the speed this game runs at and the heavy combo engine is going to scare a lot of people!

Only FPS' allow you to do such things.

Seriously, Giant Bomb is only worth listening to for stupid conversations on their podcasts, FPS' and...more stupid shit. They strike me as lazy gamers. Jeff recently knocked Bionic Commando: ReArmed 2 for making him learn boss patterns. We can't have such things in our new era of games.

They make unfair comparisons, you'll get slaughtered in any FPS if you don't adapt your skills and techniques and put in time either. What they were trying to say was it pretty much didn't hook them, or suit their preferences. And like Jeff said, he's more of a Street Fighter guy.

I see what your getting at. Different filters and contrasting effects producing different visual effects. I just dislike the stigma that it's not like comparing apples to oranges, and more Hyundais to Ferraris.

I dont have my headphones, was it Brad bringing that up? He has a super competitive mindset, I've found, and if he can't get into a groove in a game that CAN be super-competitive, then it tends to fall away from him.

Any tips on still snagging a PS3 Special Edition?

Yes, I'm an idiot and forgot to pre-order.

I'm putting my faith on retail copies at Best Buy.

FUCK YOU I HATE YOU.

Ryu stole all his moves from Ken

That's why they all end in "ken" they're named after him.

Edit: Well, the ShoRyuKen was a joint effort.

MVC2 looks so much nicer. The art design in 3 makes me want to puke. Still buying it though.
It's closer to actual modern American comics than MvC2 was though, but comic book art is another debate altogether.
