lol im jk about the mvc3 soundtrack. it's actually pretty good. i honestly did NOT like mvc2. a little too jazzy for my tastes. i don't need to have butt rock like guilty gear but some variation is good

Smooth Jazz was horrible to my ears... yeah hated the soundtrack too! Mcv3 is perfect :)!

Btw X23 is a beast, she's on my permanent roster! ;)
 
My main team, Team Fuck Shit Up (Spidey, Zero, Dante) has been doing pretty well online. I'm about 50/50 on all my games, which is good for me considering I fucking suck at fighting games.

I have not tried Dante yet, actually. I'm not sure why. Him and Deadpool. Maybe it's because I'm straying away from what I believe will be the fan favorites. Dante looks really good though, and he does warrant a pick.

Wesker, I've tried him. He's pretty fun, actually. I like his teleport and "Maximum Wesker", which yes, I hit randomly.

I'm talking stuff like Iron Man's Proton Cannon at random hoping it would hit. I do basic combos though. Down-Forward airdash ftw.

Dear Capcom: I will give you my firstborn child if you remove "easy" inputs or at the very least turn them into a toggle. DF HCF is not a dragon punch.
 
Man, Spider-Man is disappointing for me so far. He was so fucking fast in 2 and he feels a lot slower and more deliberate in this one. Maybe I just haven't gotten the hang of him yet but it's pretty depressing so far, he was my boy in MvC2.

OH HEY I will crosspost this from the costume thread:

Just because the data is on the disc doesn't mean the characters are complete. BlazBlue CS also had DLC character assets on disc yet they weren't finished. This could be a similar situation. I think there's a decent chance folks will be downloading more than just an unlock key a month from now.

(I am pretty sure I said the same exact thing in this thread days ago too.)

I'm surprised they're not bundling the characters and I'm also surprised they're only $5 each. I expected worse from Capcom.

I've waited far longer for matches today than I have pre-release. Maybe it's because I finally tried out ranked. Lots and lots of Dante and Wolverine and Ryu.

Weird thing: I've run into more droppers during player matches than ranked. Why would anyone drop from a player match??
 
btw guys there are two sets of sound effects, so if you want the sfx from the pre-retail builds (i know there were complaints about the new super sound) you can change it to "classic" and get the old sounds!

Found my team. Wesker is amazing. He lets me be annoying as fuck, just like I was when I played Bison in SSF4. lol I have to learn his combos and shit though.

Yeah, that sucks, but what I was really commenting on was that $5 for future DLC characters in general is a pretty fair price.

The Jill and Shuma situation sure is a complicated one. Is all the character data on the disk? Can they played right now and Capcom's just dicking with our wallets? Or did they know they wouldn't be able to get the characters ready in time so they slated it as DLC?

I'm inclined to believe that it's probably Capcom dicking with our wallets, but I don't feel right getting outraged before I know more info about the situation. Still kind of shitty situation though.

I don't know if anyone's said anything about this, but I'm wondering how much this game is going to encourage counterpicking. Everyone is talking about how great Sentinel is, but there are certain characters (Joe) that really give him problems. I wonder if we'll see people go in with a team, then counterpick, win, then have their opponent counterpick that team. That's the one problem with having a bunch of viable characters. Certain ones are weak to others. In MvC2 it wasn't an issue because of how dominant MSP was. I guess we'll see. Not going to make the game less fun for me.

MVC2's soundtrack was trash, even producers of the game had to apologize for that bullshit lol. Thank God for custom soundtrack on all the most recent streams/tournies.

I tried some ranked multiplayer last night and I was unable to see who my opponent picked until the loading screen before the match. So I don't think counterpicking is really going to be an issue online.
 
I'm having fun using armored Lei-Lei assist on these online d00ds. And I haven't had problems with botched inputs. But for whatever reason, I can't do a srk motion on right side to save my life. D: Anyone wanna get some XBL matches in? I kinda want to lose, now.

Yeah, I'm sure. They'd always drop near the end of the match and when I'd check their status they'd be in the Xbox dashboard. I mean, I can understand wanting to drop, because my play style's really fucking obnoxious*...but actually doing it in a player match cracks me up.

*In ranked today I ran into so many brainless projectile spammers/random hyper dudes that I started getting ticked off, thinking "JUST COME ON AND FIGHT ME YOU WUSSSSSS." Which is funny because most of the matches I've fought over the last 4 days have been non-stop projectile spam. I'm a hypocrite!

I have had legit connection drops numerous times though. I pray they add some damn ping indicators soon. I'm not sure how this game will hold up without them.
 
Played a bit, beat the game once, played a little online. I suck, but I figured enough about Haggar that I can do some nice air combos and get some combos going. I'm gonna have to do some work to actually be good though.
