I'm trying to play with the MvC2 layout on my madcatz TE stick like this

L M A1
H S A2

And I can't for the life of me be able to activate X factor properly, like I make sure the stick is neutral but. I need to press down with all 4 finger tips to get it to work.

Am I doing something wrong?

I was going to try the regular layout

L M H
S A1 A2

I played a lot of TvC but this control scheme is screwing with me, can't get the MvC tendencies out the way lol.

Also this game LOOKS FUCKING GORGEOUS!

Holy shit that tutorial video by dpsstreetfighter is great, Now I've got some real combos going.

And my team of Cap,wolvie, spidey seems to be pretty damned awesome and solid.

Did you guys know cap has a punisher alt outfit?

I was using Wesker/Akuma/Sentinel....

After seeing Doom's assists, I'm now using Wesker/Doom/Sentinel. The beam and missiles are both so good.

Took me forever to finish Iron Man's missions, but i'm starting to the hang of the 3 buttons now.

Currently seeing Kiryogi vs TheTrinidad cards battling each other. So hype.

So I just came back from Wal Mart with the game. I was told by the person working in electronics that if I had came and got the game during there midnight launch, I would have gotten it for free. Basically, they were throwing a tournament during there midnight launch, and the winner would have gotten a free copy. Even if one person had shown up, they were obligated to award that person the free game because he would be the winner by default.

So basically, it sucks that neither I or anybody else I know knew about this and weren't able to take advantage of it. Did anybody else know and if you did, how did you fare if there was anybody else there to even face.

Only if people game for the air exchange, but for regular air combos no. To break an air exchange combo you have to match the directional input your opponent used.

I'll try Spider-Man's mission 4 in a bit, but what problem did you have with Deadpool's mission 5? I messed up on the part at the end with the double jump, but I just jumped a little quicker the second time and it was fine. If you're messing up earlier on a part with chains, just put the inputs in one after another; you don't have to wait for a move to finish before putting in the next.

Ok, for Spider-Man's mission 4, I assume you're messing up on the hyper cancel at the end there. You've just gotta do it right after the second hit on the shoryuken I think, rather than letting Spider-Man fall a bit.

Yea, with Deadpool, it's the Double jump...I'm not even sure I'm doing the double jump, the menu that shows if you did a move goes away so fast that I can't tell if I pulled it off or not.

As far as the Spider-Man one, I have a hard time going from crouching H to Spider Sting H. Even when I pull it off though, I can't get the timing of the Air Maxium Spider. I'll try your suggestions next time I play...thanks!

Well, the mission objectives tracker wouldn't work too well for keeping track of the double jump since if you're looking for it you'd probably forget to hit the next attacks, and the combo would drop. Which is actually a pretty decent reminder that you have to hit the next attack right after starting the double jump.

For the Spider-Man mission, try doing the chain parts as quickly as you can. That gives you extra time to input the shoryuken motion. As for the hyper finisher, you just need to input that as soon as you get that additional hit after the shoryuken. I'm not sure if you need to cancel from the second hit or not, but the hyper doesn't otg so you need it to connect on the initial bounce.

Man I don't know if I'm cut off for this crap, I'm so bad at linking stuff together. I blame the PS3 controller though. :D
an arcade stick is super useful with a game like this

360 or PS3?
360. Also, WTF is up with being able to "cancel" your reserve spot!?!?!? I get the point, but you by mistake hit Y and you're OUT?!?!?! Seriously! AT LEAST have a confirmation for that shit!!!!!!! FFFFFFFFF. Capcom, get some goddamn consistency with your online play, and MAKE IT BETTER.

You don't NEED a stick. Hell, I mained Juri with a 360 pad.

Sticks can work out better for some people than others, but a lot of people need to know that you're going to have to put in a lot of time regardless. There's no point in dropping 150 bucks on a stick if you're just going to let it collect dust in a few weeks.

Holy shit at how fast this game looks...MvC2 for real. Damn.

I'm not gonna lie, Dante looks beast as fuck. And Amaterasu looks shifty too. I'm falling love despite not having the game.

Also, for anyone interested I have the S(?)SF4 TE stick and its baller. Great, great stick.

Man, I'm loving the gameplay so far. The game is pretty fluid and there are tons of little details everywhere(I LOVE Morrigan's demonic aura as she floats!). I'm having a blast with Hsien-Ko, Amy and Morrigan. I just wish mission mode had replays so that I can really go to town on this game...

No spectating is just as bad as I expected. Just playing today with 2 friends, the lobbies are already dying out within an hour or so of playing, just gets too boring for someone and I'm not usually able to just 1v1 someone for a very long time. A lot of my other friends online seem to have not even known about it, which makes it worse.
Yeah, it definitely killed the momentum in my rooms as well. I thought that it'd be okay anyway since I can just go over to mission mode to practice combos, but then I see that I can't replay any of the combos so I leave that too. Then I say fuck and go to ranked match to see what kind of competition is brewing over there, but I fail to connect over five times...

The game runs well and it's absolutely beautiful, but some of these omissions are really going to cut it right down right at the knees for a lot of people.

Edit:
I just tried out christ and holy shit is he a beast. This guy is going to put the work on the little weenies online!

Am I crazy that I find it way easier to do most of my motions on the stick instead of the d-pad? But I can't dash well with the stick for some reason. I guess it's just going to take a lot of practice, I haven't really found anyone I like besides X-23, and that's not even for sure. :O
