A bit slow startup, but good. Really good range and his AA version has huge range and you can kara cancel for more. At least 50% (high health characters aside) comboing off it. Also, after you finish that combo (grab, dash jump d.c, dash, st.L, cr.M, cr.S, sj.MMH xx Inferno), mid screen it seems like you can actually AA grab reset on people who tech backwards. I've gotten it a few times in training mode, but the range and timing seems really specific. In the corner after air inferno you can try to jump up and air throw after they tech and get another combo, but again, only if they tech backwards.
Skrull seems so fun.
Im a grappler kind of guy so i always look for a good command grab. :3

Just two weeks.

Addendum: The air throw reset after a grounded inferno in the corner works whether they tech forward or backwards.
Corner only right?

Is it cheap to Gold Hsien-Ko then just use her as an assist? >_>

It seems like such a good tactic and it almost always cancels most hypers too.

Hell no! That's what we call a "Strategy". Use it!

Ok...sugar coating is over. Everything outside of the select screen and actually playing this game is 100% crap. The online mode is terrible throughout, the mission mode is very poorly done and the menus are clunky.

That said the actual fighting is glorious. Damn you capcom for giving us a shit wrapped gem.

Yeah, the overall presentation and feature set is pretty fucking awful. The menus are so badly designed too.

But still, the game itself is amazing. lol

man I am disagreeing with everyone today but I think the mission mode is fine the way it is, The main issue I have with the online mode is the errors when trying to connect for a game and there are some features missing that hopefully will be coming but the menu's are not that bad.

What's wrong with the mission mode besides it not teaching you DHCs and stuff?

Online has always been shit though, even SFIV and SSFIV couldn't get it right. If you drop connection to a match, the game should automatically fucking put you back into search. Jesus Capcom this is 2005, debut of 360 kind of standards for matchmaking :/

Yeah it's pretty bad lol

"Some fun stuff with Super Skrull. His j.S hits real deep as a cross up and because it's chargeable, you can do a little fake out and go straight into st.L. I dig it."

I really like Skrull. Fun stuff, nice easy grabs, and the tenderizer attacks are awesome and have a otg at the end of the L version which sets up a hyper. He also has a teleport for left, center, and the right of the screen (L,M,H respectively) that smashes down from above.. aaand you can hyper after.

She hulk is like El Furte, she has a running command grab and a Abel like air grab. I'm sure you know about it's dizzy and such. I remember you liked El Furte so grabs + El Furte wall bouncing, run command crazyness seem to be something you might like.

While it is not terrible I can't understand why Capcom can't put two simple features into it. 1) Let me switch the move names to the actual commands...going into a menu is painful. 2) let me press a button to have the CPU demonstrate the moves.

If you drop connection to a match, the game should automatically fucking put you back into search.

YES!

My assist keeps coming too late even though I'm literally spamming the crap out of the button after an OTG... when exactly should I press it?

This is my major complaint with the mission mode as well. Having the actual commands show on screen instead of the names... damn it's such a pain. They got it right in SF4, too bad they regressed with this game (I guess it's because it was developed by a different team).

Yea, both those things make 0 sense.

Just got my copy last night and had a hard time with the new controls. When you have been playing these characters for the last 15 years or so it's quite hard to use then and not getting confused about not having dedicated punch and kick buttons.

Aside from that little grip, the game is really fun,and Galactus is a real pain to fight.

Yeah but MvC3 is already a shit sandwich in comparison because SSFIV had spectating. I had no idea how painful it would be to go back to watching life bars slowly go down. Also, not being able to save replays in a crazy frantic game like Marvel is a sin.

Anybody know of a place where I can get a good deal at TE sticks?
Is there a difference between the different versions I wonder?
Wait for a big tournament to happen and Markman will usually post about a deal for TEs at ~$100 USD or less.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=207393

All versions have the same parts (Sanwa JLF and OBSF), but are different in terms of internals (different PCBs and behavior of the lock switch), artwork, and case.

YES!

Seriously, such simple features, why the HELL weren't they implemented? What tester said yes, I like having to go into the menu every time to see what I am supposed to be doing? It's DUMB!

something to play my marvel versus capcom 3 on :)

So so painful.

The only thing I've found Super Skrull useful for is his assist

He's a good assist. I tend to role with Akuma as my main with Super Skrull as backup and I try to mix it up for my third. Generally I'll go with a claw character or sometimes I'll use Captain America or Wesker.

This is the fastest my importer has got a game :O

I got it !!!

I'm really disliking how every time I finish I complete a ranked match I have to wait for *updating player data*, *unlocked XXX points*, and *saving*.

It's getting on my nerves.

They needed some excuses to sell you an updated version of the game down the road (eg. Super Street Fighter IV).

Got 2nd, blown up by Haggar and Spencer. LOL.

Really want to see these Jwong matches.

Can anyone recap?

wolvie can basically rufus people with his dive kick and try to get them to tech it (push block or whatever its called in this game ) which you can immediately link into his lvl 3. its ridiculous. oh, and lots of air throws.

Yeah, and that is why this is so painful...we all know it is coming. 'Oh here guys we could not make spectating possible in MvC3...but we tweaked our code and in SMvC3 we can!' What a bunch of BS.

What assist are you guys using for skrull? I use the spinny flame one (orbital something).

My current team

Skrull - Use him on point. Easy to combo with, can dive bomb zoners who throw out unsafe stuff.

Zero - I like his DP assist. Also has pretty damaging combos that are fairly easy for me to pull off right now.

Taskmaster - Have him as anchor. Ranged attacks are good. Good ranged assist. Great combos.

Anyone else notice that when you go to quick ranked match and the system doesn't find a game for you, it sometimes kicks you back to the XBox Live menu, but it sometimes kicks you back to the main menu? What the hell?

I go offline from GAF to play MVC3 for an entire day and when I come back the entire tier list has been fucked.

Wolverine and Akuma GOD TIER now? Sentinel mid tier now? J Wong bringing down the pain.

OK so I actually need to land my character to be able to assist... didn't notice until now.

Fuck, really starting to hate Storm... I want to add Wesker to my group so that I have two OTG characters...

Magneto, Sentinel, Wesker

Damn it.

Just finished my first Arcade run after messing about in training and mission modes. Made it to Galactus with Dante, Joe and Zero but ended with Ammy, Zero and Dante and got Zero's ending. Took me a while to beat Galactus on Medium. It was that fucking hand clap grab. I couldn't Super Jump it but I did manage to knock him out of it once I think but don't know how I did that.

Anyone got a link to that tournament of J Wong? I need to see this shit in action. I was aware of Wolverine's untapped potential for quite some time but pairing him with Akuma is almost genius level stuff here.

Haggar assist and pipe god tier? I needed this stream in my body YESTERDAY!
