I swear to God, watching Floe's Haggar fight Clakey's team of women is nothing but jokes for me. They run in fear from Haggar's monstrous pipe game. :lol :lol :lol

I'm no where near as proficient with a stick as I was on a controller. =(

Is there something I'm missing? Or is it really just a matter of practicing loads to get better? I just can't see myself grasping the use of a stick.

What's the optimum button layout for a MadCatz TE Stick anyway?

What's the consensus on the hardest mission so far?

Had some real trouble with Iron Man's, but that's probably because that was the first one I completed. I've already done Wolvie, Zero, Sentinel and Doom's and none of them felt as hard as Iron Man's to me...

I've only done Dorm/Mags/Skrull so far. I'm not spending too much time on them though. My patience is low for ones where you gotta call in an assist. I don't nail the timing for 'em unless I kinda mash it out... :\

It requires a bit of practice, but it's so worth it.

It takes practice, you're unlearning muscle memory from using a pad an teaching your hands all new motions they aren't used to.

Give it time and you'll get it down.

im loving the game but extremely disappointed with the lack of options for player matches.

what are the odds that capcom will fix this and put in a time limit option (tired of time outs!) and spectator mode or round robin mode?

they need to allow you to create a lobby, invite friends to that lobby, and then you can challenge people in your lobby as you see fit!

I guess he's talking about the AE leaks, I wonder what Capcom will be doing differently.

I'm guessing he's actually talking about Super's console leak, as far as the fans' relationship part is concerned.

Control Type B. I turn off the LB/LT or L1/L2 buttons though.

God, I'm trying to push through them right now just to help me get as comfortable with the stick as possible, and damn, once I hit level 7 for almost everyone I'm stuck for like 2 hours. The assist combos, and the wallbounce combos that have to be perfect are a pain in the ass.

There's no shame in going back to controller if that's what you like and are used to.

There are plenty of even pro level players who use pad me being one of them. When you can do everything on pad anyway it makes no difference other than time wasted learning new controls when you could be learning new characters.

some good matches against spbutters. He likes to zone and wait for the time over a little much :P but thats ok

Yes, she was. Although her role in DMC4 was very minuscule, her character model was at least hotter than the ever-so-bland Trish.

I thought they were both great in DMC4. Such a shame that you couldn't play as them tho, it's a waste to only have such awesome models for cutscenes.

Are you one of those guys who calls themselves a scrub then proceeds to drop 20 hit combos on me? :) I'm finding that everyone not Justin calls themselves a scrub when true scrubs like me deserve the title, dammit.
Sorry for the late reply, I had to return to work.

Currently, my skills basically top out at basic ground chain -> air chain. I can occasionally get a super to finish and I can pretty decently get an aerial exchange combo, but that's about it.

I'm a scrub, but not a complete newbie.

Feeling pretty good right now with Chun Li and Ameratsu, right now I have Trish in the 3rd slot but not sure that I want to keep her there, but she's doing me alright for now. Seem to be going about 50/50 online, I am either dominating or getting dominated, hasn't been a whole lot of in-between. Between using the guide and some of the stuff on the SRK wiki, I feel like I'm actually starting to get some of the more advanced concepts like doing the multiple jumps on enemies when I've launched them with Chun-Li, etc.

I am so not feeling this game right now. Maybe I need more time with it. I just don't like the more simplified controls, lack of charge characters, etc.

Charge characters suck in these games. Might as well doom them to the low tier.

Cept Shuma hopefully

Is Mad Catz planning on releasing Marvel vs Capcom 3 fightpads or fightsticks?

So after playing for roughly 4 hours today.... I need help. Does anyone have a general "What your strategy is supposed to be" guide anywhere? I'm not talking zoning or rushdown or anything nearly that in-depth or complicated. I'm talking more like: Should i be trying to get L-M-H links all the time?

I'm having trouble even beating the computer on Medium difficulty here, and that kind of scares me. Anyone have a list of the most basic things you should be practicing first?

who are you playing? First thing I would recommend is to look up your characters' bnb's and practice them so that you can execute them and land them in a match.

I'm really new to Marvel too and initially had some trouble with the CPU on normal too. What helped me more than anything was looking up a simple combo with one character and practicing that combo over and over in training mode until you're good with it.

Then really just keep trying to nail that combo on the CPU. Since it's on normal they don't block much, haha. I think that'll get you started. Once you get comfortable with one character, move on and study up the others' combos and you'll at least be comfortable with normal CPU.

I don't think "set ups" and what not really do much for beating the CPU on any difficulty. I think the CPU is either psychic or completely dumb. So yeah, just get to know a combo or so with each of your characters and that'll put you in a comfortable positions as far as normal CPU goes.

Beyond that... uh, I don't know since I still suck, haha. But that should get you started!

Try to learn at least one good, damaging combo with each of your characters. Just experiment until you find ones you're comfortable with. It's very important to be able to do some damage when you hit your opponent, otherwise everything will become a wasted opportunity.

edit: lol

Oh wow that fight stick is a tad out of my budget for any accessory. I might just try to find a Super SFIV fightpad.
the SFIV pad is way better than the original 360 pad that is for sure. the buttons on the regular 360 control are spaced too far apart for my liking and the D pad is in a bad position for me as well. i'm definitely liking the SFIV pad right now

Official statement from Capcom on the delays with shipments.

Only 17% of customers
would be cool if they gave them first dibs on the first DLC characters that are made later on and for free.

I've MvC3 for the PS3. =] Thanks for the input though.

So worth it though. Fightpads or regular controllers will make your thumb hurt like hell after a while.

Was going to buy this today but needed a question first. I was planning on getting it for the 360, as i have a Dead Or Alive 4 arcade stick. Does the button layout work good, as it only has 6 buttons or is it rubbish with this game?

By the way, how's the PSN online quality in Europe for this game? I read that there's a Europe region now, which is awesome. SSFIV sorted by country, but you don't find many matches when you live in a country with less population than most big cities, so that was kind of useless.

Laggy as fuck, it's PSN + additional bad netcode.

6 buttons are all that is needed unless you want a binded 3p and team hyper buttons.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong regarding Advancing Guard....you just press two attack buttons right when they are about to hit you right?

Okay, no more playing this until my stick arrives. My hands hurt and the 360 controller has a hard time discerning quick fire movements like DP vs FB.

Well you need to be blocking. So it should be:

Hold back+two Attacks.

If I'm wavedashing and getting super-jumps due to the joystick flicking upwards does it mean I need to be more careful with my down inputs or that I need a new stick/spring?

I'm decided to go Sent as my 3rd character, I feel dirty inside but the path his charge force follows is ideal for Haggar and She-Hulk.

My bad, forgot the blocking. I knew that. I just cant seem to get the timing down or something.

How about in a special? Say if Ryu is doing the hadouken special, I only need to press the hold+2attacks once right?

once you're blocking just rapidly press 2 attack buttons, but be careful for hypers that have breaks in them like arthurs fireballs(since he can control them) and akumas air hyper...then you'll just have to stop pressing during the breaks then resume.

Just got back with my OWN COPY OF MAHVEL

cost me 25$ after trading in half my xbox360 games.

Sad thing is, my xbox is at my friend's house and he's out at dinner for an hour.

You have to press them each time you want to do the advancing guard. Even in specials. Just tap the buttons
