MODOK added to God-tier (even though no one has actually played with him all that well, he has potential when he starts stacking those cubes).

I'm practicing a lot with MODOK trying to get used to his atypical game logic. I feel the potential in him, a lot of it seems based off trying to get some BnB combos that bounce them off cubes down, for safe ways to learn up.

That and when trying him online, I get the distinct impression people hate him precisely because he's so weird looking; he looks like a joke character to bro's, but the joke ends up being on them.

His shield is unbreakable because it's made out of stuff that made Adamantium. That's why it can go through everything.

I don't think Ryu is bad, it's just a running joke that's been going since the revealing of MVC3. Would've liked to see an air dash on him though. I personally use him a lot and use him to teach MVC3 to others. His pace is "just right" when you need to get a hang of things in MVC3.

Actually, it is vibranium, the ore which was only located in Wakanda and maybe in the Savage Land.

She's pretty much why the game has the Partial Nudity disclaimer.

I can't stand Felicia. She's such an annoying character...

Got the game on friday, still discovering all characters and deciding who I should train with. Love it, though :)

Oh yeah it's Vibranium. I think it got reverse converted into Adamantium or some shit later on. Still it's unbreakable.

One thing though, his Battering Ram doesn't consume cubes so you can just keep doing combos and zoning all day long getting those cubes up while using Battering Ram if you need to.

I use up the cubes on the Hyper Psionic Blaster when they are at max and I catch their assist. That's usually 2 characters dead or close to it, gets them every time.

Check out some of Tragic's combos with MODOK, some really sick stuff. Even MODOK can style on your ass! Honestly though I used MODOK for trolling purposes and because my friends think he is a joke character so the joke is on them when I totally own them with him.

He has normal human bones... but they bonded/plated/infused them with adamantium.

I thought it was ripped out of him by Mags. This is older Wolvie though, since he still has Adamantium claws.

I'm going to abuse the hell out of that free Marvel subscrip once I have a chance. :)

he got it back after that, partially cuz Sabretooth had it

Anyone wanna explain the joke in Zero's ending? :lol
There are so many Megaman games and universes that it's easy to get them mixed up. Silver Surfer ended up in the wrong Megaman universe, he was supposed to go to Megaman X universe I believe.

Yeah I have played a lot of MM games but never followed the stories that much.

Doing pretty well with my Captain America/Spencer/Magneto team. Had a decent morning on Ranked today. Won far more than I lost. But HOLY FUCK people, Dante, Ryu, Wolverine, Akuma, and Sentinel aren't the only characters in the game. FFFFFFFFFF. I want to throw my TV out the window every time I hear SHINKU HADOOOOOOKEN.

People only started to pick Wolverine/Akuma because J Wong put those 2 on the map. Before his match no one was touching Wolverine online, now everyone is playing him.

Wesker and Zero are popular too if they know how to play with them.

Marvel canon is the only thing that can rival Street Fighter canon.

I will now punch and kill an elephant owned by an Indian holy man because I wear boxing gloves and have ever lasting beef with him.

Nothing compared to ...

NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE! NEUTRALIZE!

They sure are. My friend has both of them in his main team and I've encountered them frequently online. Both of them are so fucking fast, especially Wesker.

I've never heard of a Mega Man Zero. Like, weren't the MMZ games follow on's from MMX? Fuck's sake Capcom! :lol

Oh no, you're completely correct. When someone starts beam spamming with Sentinel I just shake my head and try my best to get by it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

Quite fun using XF3 Spencer's BIONIC AAAAAARRRRRRRRMMMMMM to stuff beam spammers, though.

I'm guessing they pulled a title character joke. Like how some peeps refer to Master Chief as Halo (lol at that meme), etc or just a parody of Marvel's many alternate worlds. That's just my guess though.

i think i finally found my team, Taskmaster/Chun-li/Haggar. Taskmaster ropes combo + Chun-li legs assist = unstoppable. Plus The Pipe.

Now i'll patiently wait for the Udon Taskmaster DLC

I'm still trying to learn how to deal with spammers. I just try to time a hyper off in between shots. If it lands, they typically stop.

No, Dahbomb already got it right:

I though the joke was great.

With Spencer you can just use his arm to zip to the other side of the screen. Or you could use a flying character (Magneto, Morrigan, Storm, etc.) and just fly over them.

Hypers work too, though.

Teleports or reflectors are always the best way to go. Once you punish them a few times, they'll usually not know what to do since that's all they really know what to do.

Jesus, i just saw a guy on stream with 109 wins and 9 losses. He plays Sentinel, Storm and Magneto. Yes he plays Sent but he doesnt spam his annoying "NEUTRALIZE! beam" all the time.

Most characters in the game have ways to deal with this. They can have flight, air dashes, teleports, moves that go through characters (like a phase dash through them to get to the other side), swing above or just reflect the projectiles back/counter them (Hsien-Ko).

If your character can't deal with that sort of stuff then most likely either A) He is a heavy type character and if he does get in it would be disastrous for the opponent because of an impending command throw into combo B) A keep away/zoning character himself.

Full screen hypers work too if they are fast and safe enough.

My main team right now is Dante/Phoenix/Dormammu. I could try flying with Phoenix, but I'm cautious because if I mess up, she'll go down quick.

Dante has a teleport that can easily deal with spammers, Dormammu has one too but he is a zoning character (meaning he likes to keep away and control the space with his projectiles and spells) and his super (the Chaotic Flame one) can easily punish after hit confirming with the long-ranged Dark Hole. Phoenix can teleport too but it's just better to bring her out when you have the 5 meters.

Even with your team you can spam the hell out of the opposition. Dormammu on point covered by Dante's Anti-Air assist will keep a lot of people out allowing you to use spells all day long.

"Partial"? That's fur, not clothes. There's nothing "partial" nudity about Felicia. Morrigan either, for that matter.

Also, what do think she does with that butterfly when the camera is off? If I know cats, she'll eat it.

Well, managed to get my second online win, this time in ranked. I really suck at online MvC3. Even if I managed to take out two characters with level 3 X-Factor Felicia in one fight. That's an awesome thing to do, but not when it's because you end up in a 3v1 situation. She is stupidly fast in level 3 X-Factor, though. If I had the finger speed, I'd go for that L DP infinite she has in X-Factor.

I keep missing my Advancing Guards, or rather, I completely forget I can do that. Same with the fun little setups I've practiced in Training, none of them come out, not to mention my general execution rate plummets. Ah, I can still count on people throwing Hadokens at Cap, though. You'd think they'd try something else when Cap comes blasting through it. I really want to catch a midscreen Shinku Hadoken with a Hyper Charging Star.

I've also noticed something. When I tag Felicia in, it's almost as if the opponent really wants to kill her. She makes my opponents reckless. Unfortunately, I'm not good enough to deal with recklessness yet. Again, I keep forgetting about Advancing Guard, for one.

or Teleport > downH and [insert c0mbo her]

Even with advancing guard the speed at which NEUTRALIZE comes out seems you have to instant super air jump just to get out of the lockdown. And by then you've a good deal of chip damage. Maybe someone with a fast projectile assist like Mag being counter tagged in could stop early spamming.

Not a Capcom fighting game fan, but my son saw this at Bestbuy running and just HAD to have it. We are total noobs, and the terminology "advance cancel crush heavy regen air attack assist" means nothing to us...................

Is there a guide or site that goes from ground zero to advance tactics? Mainly for my son, dont think my reflexes will ever manage this game. :)

Try this, and lots of time in the training room.

God damn I always seem to miss a character. :(

Felicia is really beastly she is God-tier automatically.

Man I am so tempted to add Ryu to God-tier as well:

*Can combo off of his LVL3 hyper.

*Can combo off of his wall bounce into launcher.

*L Tatsumaki kick can cross up easily.

*One of the best hypers in the game and it is also aimable.

*Good overall stats, hits like a fucking truck on normals.

*Supposedly Shoryuken has starting invincibility (not confirmed).

But then Captain America (w/o shield) will be alone in Mortal tier. :(

MODOK added to God-tier (even though no one has actually played with him all that well, he has potential when he starts stacking those cubes).
You forgot something else - Ryu can also combo a super hadou from a throw though timing is tight on the ground throws.

He has a simple but damaging corner reset where :
* if you do a 2nd donkey kick L and do ground super hadou aim upwards
* then when the opponent recovers, air grab them and do super hadou aim downwards
Air grab to super adds an additional 330k damage which you might be able to DHC with some characters.

I'm still trying to master Dante's teleport. Still can't pull it off right half the time. I'm not a very good player either, so I'm finding pulling off more complex moves on a controller to be difficult.

SRK MVC3 Wiki

Edit: wayyy beaten :lol

I'd checkout the official guide as well if you'd like something that you could read away from a computer. It's currently around $11 on Amazon and has been praised universally by the community. Hefty too at 400 pages of info.

It's pretty frustrating. I know I can do better in ranked play. When I play online I drop combos that I can do in arcade. Nerves or something play into it I think. I'm still trying to get that 5 game win streak trophy. After that's done I don't care how many games I lose :(

High five to the guy who's running (almost) the same team as me!

Taskmaster/Chun-Li/Big person
I'm using Sentinel as my safety net for all the projectile chip/x-factor/spam that happens online. I'm really not good enough at zoning with him, but I just go for random c.M into S and his standard air combo + otg setup, or spamming lasers to hit confirm into HSF.

Tried haggar who's definitely got potential as an anchor with his lariat assist, but when it comes down to x-factor I feel a lot more confident having projectiles. I'm still looking for that good 3rd character, might be wesker, but i'm feelin the Sentinel drones assist.

To the guy playing with his son: The MvC3 strategy guide is pretty much all you need if you dont mind spending 20 bucks. But for newer players the SRK wiki does a great job at getting you up to speed.
