What ?? I played this and the online is great, better than SSF4 which was already great.

Are you on PSn or Xbox live?

Xbox live. The last 4 matches i played were laggy as hell.

Hey guys I'm lttp on this game. Where is a good outlet to get started?

Also is the guide book worth getting? Does it have frame data?

Yes, the official BradyGames guide is worth getting, to say the least. Yes, it includes frame data.

Online is noticeably worse than SSF4 but I'm not sure how much of that is due to netcode or due to the speed of the game. Still playable, but yeah.

Really? Are you on PS3 or 360? My experience so far with Xbox Live has been fantastic.

It's weird because before the official release, all the matches I played were almost perfect. It is angering me. You know its bad when you are on a win streak and you still don't want to play.

Ugh Q tore me a new one again, stupid Sent. Taskmaster would just tear leilei up.

Yeah sent can be a handful... but I resigned myself never to play him or dante. My new team is zero, wesker and akuka.... hope sent likes infinites ;p

Wasn't even sent himself, it was his damn assist. Paired up with spencer it created some evil crossups, then when task was up it was just barrages from hell.

One thing that kills me is corners not crossing up... always block the other way when someone is jumping and I m in the corner... damn that sf4 muscle memory...

My sent is fucking horrible, I should start playing with him on point to get practice lol

May not be 100% guaranteed but it's something to try out.

You sure any of it is 100%? Think she recovers instantly after going super saiyan. If so, then yeah, they're good setups but none of them are 100%. Maybe there are a few frames where she can't do anything and it just requires meticulous timing, but I haven't been able to set any of that stuff up so she couldn't escape it.

edit: well, I shouldn't say they're "good" setups since they cost a ton of meter + xfactor and they're easily avoided. But the one with She Hulk is a bit more difficult to avoid since Phoenix's only escape option is teleport. I think. Didn't try the Spiderman one.

Wolverine kills sentinel for free if you can get in lol, can't wait for my Bradyguide that comes later today.

online was good for me last night.

Finally got the tenth X-23 mission done. Timing on that combo is so bizarre. Well whatevs, I got all of my girl's titles now.

"Clone?" ... ¬_¬

Didn't you say, multiple times, that you were done with this game?

Yeah I was hoping for wittier or ridiculous titles for finishing missions. I beat very hard with MODOK to hopefully get a troll title and it turned out to be some lame title if I recall.

I hope MODOK's title for finishing his missions is gdlk.

TK EVERYTHING
Homing fireballs coming, traps set, teleport coming..

Its an overhead - I got this son!

Teleport again a split second later behind me, doesn't hit high, hangs (anticipating the fear in my heart) and hits low. Fireworks.

REMATCH?

Don't need to be scared of his Sent =p, snap it in! It's that god damn taskmaster. He has good keepaway and rush down. And I can't tell but that stupid spidey swing is like safe on block or some shit.

Got a brutal block string setup with Zero/She Hulk. Zero's strings are crazy alone, but keep up the A-B-C forward C string, call in the low She Hulk assist, cancel the C into the air teleport and come down with the overhead with Zero. Zero can continue the combo no matter if he hits or She Hulk hits and it is very hard to block if you time it right. Keep in mind that this can cross up as well. You have to push block Zero or he will destroy you.

So guys, I'm working on collecting everything in the gallery, but I'm confused with some of the Galactus material. I've loss to Galactus and I've unlocked his ending and sound, but I haven't unlocked his model, profile image, and character bios. Does anyone know what I need to do to unlock the rest of his stuff?

As I mentioned, the spidey one is definitely not 100%. X-23, Haggar and She-Hulk are with the right timing. Even if she tries to teleport right away, she'll still get grabbed out of it before the animation can finish. The key is the timing of your super or x-factor to give you enough invincibility to avoid the "Phoenix Force" that pushes you away. Considering that you risk getting your entire team zoned and wiped out. I say it could be worth the meter investment, especially since those characters aren't going to be getting anywhere near a zoning Dark Phoenix.

This game is currently unplayable for me. I have played ranked 3 times and lost every fight. The game changed my controls for the last fight, so inputting QCB X+Y didn't give me my hyper combos. I make a mistake and I get raped by a 25-hit aerial exchange, which I can't perform because I cannot get past the the magic series because of the connection - super jump comes out too late, basically. direction and S in the air right? Doesn't work. I can't beat spammers because I want to play properly. But that is playing properly because it's zoning or something. I'm thinking of getting rid whilst I can sell it at a good price. I don't think fighting games are for me...

No one to play against locally? The online was terrible for me tonight.

If Shadow Mode comes before Spectator, I don't know what to say.

Delriach said:
I don't know why that would be surprising. Capcom announced Shadow Mode. They haven't confirmed a spectator mode for any sort of immediate release.

Shadow Mode on deck for sure. Looks like new titles are up for grabs by beating CPU opponents in Shadow Battle...

They're listed in the Bradygames guide. Not sure if they've been posted anywhere else.

Got the update on Live today. It adds a DLC check on game start and changes the description for some of the unlockable titles (from "defeat someone who has this title" to "defeat a Shadow Mode opponent who has this title" or thereabouts).

Ah, that makes more sense... Eh... :\

Actually, is there a list anywhere of all the titles available? Kinda curious now.

So I've only played a bit of mission mode and this by far seems like the fastest fighting game I have ever played. I'm going to get murdered with my old man reactions. Also I must be hitting the buttons too slow because I can't magic series. I had the same problem with guy and Ibuki and dudley's TCs in SSFIV.

Yeah got Justin Wong SYNDROME lol... started to see how it can go complex beyond memorizing combos and its starting to get fun learning the setups.

Still think damage is a pain but hey nothing is perfect!

Besides the speed of the game is adding skills to my sf execution and i finally got to learn the proper dragon punch motion on a stick... damn sf shortcuts!

The light attacks have barely any hitstun. They're definitely harder to combo from than almost any other magic series game I've ever played.

<lacerta> so i was bored and tried that haggar shit on phoenix
<lacerta> hold jump = whiff
<lacerta> if you do it too early she won't even need to jump to avoid it

LOL
Dark Phoenix Rising has no recovery frames whatsoever, but jumps have 3 frames of startup. I don't think holding up is a get out of jail free card.

Buffering a dry tag during the transformation might be, though.
