My record in ranked matches is doing some weird shit...displaying 100 less wins then i have prematch then the correct record afterwards...

I've seen this -- I wondered how the fuck someone with 8 wins was 8th Lord.

So where are all the PSN people? Seems like it's the same 5 folks now in the channel every night.

I'm on PSN nightly but haven't been frequenting the room as much as I should; aside from the chatting social aspect, there's almost no reason to be there without spectator mode. It's much more interesting if you have something to watch and comment on like in SSFIV. One of those things I didn't realize how much I missed it till it was gone.

Where's the shuma vids? ;_;
So much this. We still have not even seen the green mystic's animations!

Implimented a system no one wants that you'll have to pay money for to use.
Not that I think it will be free, but Capcom technically has not stated a price yet, and it could be free. I have seen some people very excited about this feature, but it boggled my mind as to why. AI is AI, even if it's programmed to "behave" different.

Yeah, pretty much this. I've also been playing on XBL a lot more lately, because of all the PSN hacking crap going on, although I've been too busy to play games much during the weekdays anyway.

Well I like people in there so i can go "Hey anyone wanna 1v1?!" and there's only like 4 people in the channel :(

I agree. It's great for popping in and asking for matches though. Preferably 1v1s, just to keep the action going w/o waiting in that boring-ass lobby watching battle cards bump uglies.

When the game came out, I was in the channel every time I was on, and nobody was saying a damn thing. :P

Well doesn't *hurt* to join the channel. Just so far random matches have been pretty piss poor in quality of play.. found gaffers for the most part are better.

I really am. :/ My bad about the lag. Usually my connection is better.

I can see your dorm being a problem later on...

I must be a super weak scrub then, because you dominated the entire time.

I train so hard, but I get my ass kicked so bad. :( I'm done playing for today...

I have another question, I want to get a joystick to start playing with.

could you guess recommend me some in the low-medium price range?

and isnt there a way you can make your own?

Eh, it gets annoying getting a buttload of invites when you're not interested in playing in a lobby. Although if there's only a few people, it wouldn't so bad. Maybe I'll go back to popping into the room and annoying the fuck out of people with too much zoning.

Would someone please add me for the PSN chat room. I've beat arcade mode with all the characters, played my friends a bunch and even did a good share of ranked.

I'm ready GAF.

Feel free to add me. I'll go onesies with you ;) As for Shadow Mode I don't recall reading that it's a paid download anywhere although it is coming out on the same day as the paid Alt Outfits DLC. Speaking of which, I might pick up Thor once his classic outfit launches...I just don't like the new design much but classic Thunder God has me excited as does the Steve Rogers Cap outfit.

Low/medium price sticks are usually the Mad Catz SE Fight sticks. Not sure how easy it is to find the Hori fighting stick 3 or the other one for the 360 (forget the model name).

Has anyone tried those marvel pads with the clicky mini joystick/analog hybrid?

EDIT: Yeah Shadow mode doesnt seem that interesting. I mean for a few fights just to see how they play? Sure. But i'm really hoping spectator mode hits soon...sucks to be restricted to 3-4 player rooms just so people dont get bored and quit while waiting.

Lobby music is extremely cool though, so it'll be nice to have a choice between the two.

Just picked up Mahvel. Feel a bit overwhelmed, having to learn the nuances all over again with not one but three characters.

I have the same feeling... 3 chars to learn at the same time is hard! I been in the training room for a long while. I finally have the team I m going to keep tho. Zero, Akuma, Wesker.

Wesker is going to take me the most time to master...

Forgive me for laughing at what is probably old news by this point, but I just got to read the latest Edge and see what the review of the game was and why it got the dreaded, soul-crushing "7":

OMG, the reviewer is trying so hard to sound like a fighting pro and frankly, sounds like a boob. He starts the review by talking about how the game is shallow and "skin deep", the goes on to say once you are hungry for any depth, there's only the mission mode... just like the mission mode from the old days in MVC2!

He dismisses the game as being not a work of genius like SFIV where says "Yoshinori Ono rewrote the rulebook" - direct quote. Next he tries to claim the game mechanics are shallow because it is visually too flashy, since the hyper combos are explosive.

He doesn't criticize any of the legitimate issues with the game, such as barebones online features and no spectator mode or replay system (doesn't even mention online that I can see). He then says it doesn't have enough unlockables, so again, is a "shallow" experience.

He concludes it doesn't have the longevity of "the greats, like SFIV" and concludes it's a one-shot distraction. Finally he says it would be better if it had a lot more characters.

The only valid criticism he makes of the entire game is that the story is flimsy and the story mode (such as it is) doesn't take advantage of the comic book crossover potential.

Honestly, his review is so negative, it sounds as if he wanted to give it a 6 or even a 5 *million smilies*

Is it cheap to play all zoning characters? I'm starting to think that's the only way I'll be able to stand up against anyone.

Nothing is cheap play what you enjoy

Maybe this will be useful is 4 months as I still get crushed by pc with my scrubby skills at this game lol

Why are they fighting swamp thing??? What did he do to anybody??

GGs last night if you didn't see my post earlier. Scooby Doo had me on lockdown. :(

Also, has anyone done the math for this game yet? As in 36 characters, 3 per team and 9 possible assists per team equals how many combinations?

If it in the game, go ahead, but it's not a full proof strategy.

Yeah. I'm unconvinced that it's completely unavoidable even if it's timed perfectly. Pretty cool if it works though. Pretty impractical too. I think you'd be more likely to kill her if you just saved the bar for random supers or something.

BTW, you got the frame data from the guide I guess? Haven't seen any frame data for this game anywhere.

Not with X factor and healing field.

Everyone here does realize that Capcom has already stated they are patching the netcode and adding features to online soon, right? Seriously... they know about this and are working on it.
They're even putting in spectator mode as we demanded over all this stuff.

For now just deal with it as best you can. It's irritating but it's not a game breaker. Every match I get is appropriately paired to my skill level and as I've improved so have the bookings it's made for me in matches. Lobbies are easy to set up enter and leave and everything else is just on the verge of becoming something great once we get the patch that will fix the connectivity issues.

Just have some patience is all I'm saying. Do you really want to be the guy next year who is hearing all the stuff people have learned in this game that now no longer mention problems online? I don't. I don't wanna be the guy wondering why he ever gave up on a great game because the online had difficulty in it's first weeks and I just wouldn't wait for a patch.

No its pretty shitty and things like fucking lag bars should have been in. Standard online features are missing. The net code is all over the place. But hey we got time to do DLC!

We've been through this already. :] Game critics are a farce, especially when it come to properly reviewing a fighting game.It just expose them for the mediocre gamers that they are (I'm sure nearly 100% of them aren't even skilled and semi-hardcore at best,so they just happen to be able to "write" and have a geeky passion for gaming).
