Speaking of people being idiots....

Today I had, I shit you not, 7, count them, 7 <----- different people in a ROW who all sent me rage messages. I was flabbergasted. During my playtime I also had 4 rage quitters.

I even had one of those 7 messages accuse me of using simple mode. Since when does styling on you for over a 100+ hit combo = simple mode? People are mad salty from this game non stop.
I just reply "Sorry you lost, better luck next time." For some reason, this just makes people angrier. :(

How do you do missions in this game that require you to call in assist characters? I can only the ones that have an air combo right before the assist.

You mean something like L, M, assist, H right?

In that situation I hit M and assist at the same time

L, M+assist, H

Yeah I used to try this approach, but that seems to open flood gates of 3 more messages from the person.

Now I either A) Ignore it or B) Reply: "U maaaaad?"

If I get a reply back after option B, then I just type, "Yeah you mad. Stay free crybaby scrub."

They stfu after that 9/10 times. Seems to hit a soft spot. :P

I've only got one message. Some guy said "nice way to play bitch" I replied "thank you." I think I owned him with the pipe over and over.

I sent one guy a message after he beat me whole team with amaterasu. I said "nice ammy". I killed his first 2 characters and he somehow comboed each of my team one after the other in the corner with her. I was amazed.

As for my team (skull, haggar, sent) I think I'll stick with them for a while. I tried picking up modok and dante, but neither fit very well. Each of my guys seems very useful at times, so I'm happy.

What's with the win/loss record of opponents being way different before and after a match? Like it leaves off the hundreds place sometimes. This guy was 120-45 before the match (with a really high win%) and then after I beat him his record changed to 120-145 with the appropriate percent.

Yeah, I'd like to know what is up with this one as well. It's freaking me out because I keep getting matched up with people who appear to have just fifty or so wins until after the match where I find out that they've played over 600 matches.

On disc DLC is kind of maddening but people are neglecting to mention the fact that the On disc content in this case is incomplete based on hacking reports. They're polishing it off so to speak and if you bought the CE it's free. Either way you spend $10 more why the fuss?

I'm almost ready to give up since a new one of these pops up every day but think of it this way. What makes capcom more money $60 disc + $40 worth of characters (Jill and Shuma are $5 and I'm assuming 6 more characters ) + $30 minimum in alternate outfits or a $40 disc? At best Super will be more of a greatest hits edition like Oblivion or Fall Out. The only reason SFIV didn't follow this model is that it was a gamble and hooks were not in place for DLC.

I said this in another thread basically. I don't mind people getting mad at day 1 DLC even though DLC can be completely handled by a different team and under different budgets, but when people complain about how it's on disc, it's stupid because they'd still be angry if it wasn't on the disc but available Day 1. People can get angry that they might have to pay for features that could have been given for free, but they shouldn't be pissed at the delivery method of said features. (especially because on disc DLC might not even be done, might still require several patches to actually complete it)

Shit is ridiculous. I'm at 79% complete on the missions and I haven't been able to do a single one of those.

It's pretty easy if you know how to hit two buttons at once lol.

Some partner assists are done as you are coming down from the sky from a launcher----these you can generally just mash the assist button all the way down. Others want the assist during a combo and just either want you to go fast or hit the buttons at about the same time. L, M, Assist, H, launch usually is L, hit M and assist at same time OR just go fast as hell. It helps to sometimes just break down what the game wants you to do without the assist in there. So if you can do what the parts are without the assist, then all you really need to do is just hit one extra button fast within what you can already do.

None of the challenges in this game come even remotely close to some of the stupid shit SSF4 wanted done, and to make it worse SSF4's shortcut inputs can make some nightmare results occur.

I'll give it another shot in a few minutes.

Trying to land some of those links is like torture I swear. Street Fighter IV's mission mode is more frustration than fun.

man good thing i keep playing the same guy over with his super sweet turtling phoenix team.

Change how you are getting into matches to avoid this. If you are just going to ranked, try going into arcade or training mode, and turning the fight request feature on. That should give you a new opponent.

yeah it changes from the 3 guys im playing to fail to join game sessions or no requests.

This is hands down one of the most poorly made online components of any game.

Your experience mimics mine. I played the same person over and over again tonight, and it was laggy as shit. I'll wait until a patch if it ever comes out to improve online, until then it's offline only.

What the fuck is with Tron Bonne mission 09?
I have no problem combo-ing to the second flamethrower.
When I jump cancel it into m-m-h, shulk always techs out before the h hits so i can't finish with h > lunch rush.

Haha nice. :)

I actually got a hate message after that post. It was awesome and awe inspiring. haha.

The VesperArcade mission videos are the best. I would think certain missions were very difficult, then I started mimicking the rhythm of his button presses (and mashing less) and everything always became easier.

Including Amaterasu's weapon change combos. They really aren't that hard once you realize that you can use the 'down' input from something like a crouching H, and count it towards the weapon change. So crouching H, down M = crouching H to weapon change.

is there a reason capcom put the characters in front of the lifebars? A lot of the time (especially with big chars like sentinel) the bar gets obscured. The super bar is always on top so i assume it's not just lazy programming.

I think that's exactly what makes it so hard, especially since you have to immediately follow up with another combo.

So I think I finally decided on my team: Wolverine, dat Task, and Akuma.

My Akuma is total ass for now, mainly just use him for the assist.

Eh, I thought that made it a lot easier once I knew I didn't have to frantically mash down twice to weapon change and only had to tap it once.

and horray new members who are also on SRK like myself.

Sentinel would probably get halfway covered up in an aeriel combo if he was behind the lifebar which is probably why it was done. Then again his combos are piss easy and you don't even need to be able to see him for that, but yeah.

On both the first and second M-M-H you have to hit as soon as you're jump cancelling and hitting M-M-H one after the other right away.

Just took my worse raping in the game yet vs a zero/sentinal. Reacting to teleports and crossup shenanigans in a game this fast with lag is so frustrating.

Coincidentally I just gave the biggest rapings in the game yet. Rage quits galore.

Team PMS for life.

That was me raping you bro. I asked if you're from NeoGaf like a thousand times... Why didn't you respond :/

anyone else want to play with me: PSN: niu-niu

No mic setup. Man, i'm not sure how the hell I was suppose to defend against that. Bad enough I haven't been able to hit a basic combo all night :(

I just got my ass handed to me so many times that I dropped down to an 8th ranger level...

It was horrible night. Sentinel spam, akuma shenanigans and all manner of shit tonight. The only thing that could heal the wounds is That 70's show...

The first guy rage quit on me as the final blow from She-Hulk's hyper was about to hit. The last guy was mad because my Arthur threw projectiles and my Ryu hit confirmed fireballs into hyper. I don't remember the middle guy but I know I was doing some pretty decent combos for a garbage player. Oh well!

Capcom has some weird priorities when it comes to their fighting games, I fucking swear.
This is funny coming from the guy who's made post after post bitching about achievement grinding. You gotta stop obsessing over those things, man.

(This is not a Capcom defense force post - they deserve to be blasted for rushing this release.)

Yeah, I'm finding it really difficult to deal with that shit online. It's very difficult to block or dodge many things on reaction. Or even when you know it's coming. Getting a bit sick of it. I like my friends and all but I wouldn't mind swapping a few for people who like to play the occasional fighting game!

I still don't know how people pull off fancy combos when there's tons of lag. It always impresses me. It also annoys me. I get all jealous!

I played a Zero earlier and it was kinda hilarious. He was doing all these very long, complicated combos that ended up taking off a third of my health bar at most. Then I'd do She-Hulk's relatively simple bnb and take off 80% of his health. I love her so much.

Honestly I think a lot of these sarty bros who send messages like that are from Gamefaqs  Taking a peek at Gamefaqs fighting game boards reveals: everyone thinks everyone else's character is OP and just for noobs. Everyone talks in text messaging shortcuts and says "ur" five times in every message. And interestingly, they tend to argue over whether guys should use female characters.

That one really caught my eye one time and I started noticing it; lots of widdle bros around thar seem genuinely distressed and even angry at mans who use womans in fighting games.

I feel inspired, I think I'm going to make an Arthur/Sentinel/Doom team with the appropriate assists and see what happens.

Heh. I beat a dude using almost nothing but em disruptor a few days ago and he sent me a flood of hatemail over it. It's like, shit, if you're gonna keep running into it, I'm gonna keep doing it.

Been practicing these past few days with my X / Tron / Chun team. Feel pretty comfortable with them right now.

Too bad the game is so laggy for me tonight, can't do much against warping characters. :/
