Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster Discussion Thread

So what are the odds of Strider making a comeback?

I'm more invested in the Capcom roster this time, since Marvel's is almost certainly going to be fully based on the MCU.

I'm not too familiar with his games (yeah I should find a way to fix that), but considering she was an assist in MvC and we already have characters like Saki, Arthur, and Thor get bumped up to full VS appearances, maybe she's got a shot.

You know, thinking about it, I know his chances are utter shite considering he's a supporting character, and would have to sit behind all members of the main cast, but... I'd fucking love (MCU) Yondu.
That whistle-controlled arrow would make for some super badass mechanics and moves, and his crossup potential would be amazing.

Sadly, he has no chance. Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Groot and Gamora at the very least would take precedence before him, and likely Drax, Nebula and Mantis as well. Maybe even Ronan.

I actually don't think Venom would be that hard to do in 3D. Like Shuma, a lot of Venom's classic animations can be replicated with some clever model switching and liberal application of some sort of goop effect to hide the seams.

Yondu seems to be prominently featured in GotG2, so I would at least put his chances at greater than zero.
 
Yipes is expecting MvCI to be supported for 7 to 8 years.

That seems a bit much.

Edit: Yipes said MvCI not a part of Capcom Pro Tour, but something completely different. Curleh Moustache confirmed?

Persia had a good point in that it's 2v2 with no assists is going to bring more players from other fighting games. It'll be more accessible to, say, Street Fighter players. Both professional and amateur, I'm assuming.

I'm going to say at least 60. You can make a list of main MCU characters, along with those considered A-listers/fan faves for a MvC game, X-men, etc. and easily get 30-35. If Capcom can match that on their side and the game sells butt tons I think it could happen, maybe even more. Do it, Capcom, DO IT
 
Most people in here don't want to see Vergil, they want Nero instead.

Not a whole lot of insight that hasn't already been covered in these threads. Venom, Ant Man, Groot, Dormammu, Rocket Raccoon, etc.

Yipes also confirmed that there was actually a working Marvel 3 balance patch that never got deployed because the license ran out.

Man that stings.
 
I had heard about that rumor before a couple of times but never really brought it up but with this whole port thing and Marvel Infinite, I guess people are bringing up the old stuff.

Damn shame but oh well.

And yeah Yipes also said that Marvel won't be on the CPT but it will be on its own thing. Maybe Marvel Pro Tour.

Yeah that's some shit, kind of feel bad for capcom. Maybe this was the dealmake marvel vs Capcom but not let capcom run tournaments for it. Hopefully we get darks talkers or another fighter.

I wonder if they are going to do those Marvel vs Capcom fight club again? Before marvel 3 was released, they went to different cities to let players try out the game.
