I believe his powers are the ability to do anything...but maybe since his powers have a time-limit in the comics he could be a mokujin-style character...but one who's moves change throughout the battle.

Who is this Freakazoid character? Seriously, anyone else see it?
I don't know what Marvel's doing with him these days but I think Slapstick would be a neat "WTF" addition from the Marvel side. He's a superhero who's special ability is doing wacky cartoon shit, which fits MVC like a glove.

I've just realized that with the game being 2v2 we probably won't see characters with weird mechanics like Phoenix, Phoenix Wright, and Frank West, where they were dependent on their teammates to power up and properly function.
I think, if anything, we'll see something like Tatsunoko, where Megaman Volnutt had his weapon swapping and Polimar had his little emblem thingy powerups going on.

You got me on the Phoenix one though.
Probably. If any of them would stay as is it'd definitely be Frank as he's not as dependent on assists to level up the way Phoenix/Wright are.

I'd argue both of them need to be redesigned a bit anyway. Changing the mechanics may have been for the best, since they'd have to be if they made it in

The Answer was a pretty cool character. I loved the issues where he fought Spidey. When the counter to Spidey was greater stamina to take his hits, he adapted it. When he needed the strength to tear his webs off, he adapted it. That power is awesome.

He seems like a really underused character, probably because he's so powerful, yet at the same time, limited. Maybe he could be a NPC boss fight in something....
Today I just wanted Moonstone but I realized that Captain Marvel's already there, so instead I just want Shadowcat.
Marvel's premierX-Man Guardian of the Galaxy, Kitty Pryde's phasing capabilities could bring some unique mechanics to the game.

Perhaps she could have some sort of command dodge or be able to burn metre to fall out of an enemy combo?
And of course she could have some attacks involving Lockheed, Kitty's fire-breathing, dragon-like, alien companion. The X-Men used to be weird. I miss the X-Men being weird.

Eh, Karla would play more like Shadowcat than Captain Marvel. (all that phasing) Plus with two Moonstones she can chuck around black holes and fool around with gravity
You could also throw in tons of taunt/counters because she loves being an annoying pain to everyone and it kinda fits with her natural psychological manipulation.

I want War Machine. Take the Dark Reign run as inspiration and he would be a completely different beast than Iron Man or Ultron.

The only WTF character for me would be dark reign war machine or him with his alien armor as default. Found both of those to be two very odd takes for my favorite character.
She'll likely stay green, with Grey She-Hulk being an alt.
In the case of Nova, Sam Alexander was supposed to be a company-wide shift for Nova that ended up falling flat on its face. Even in 2015, Marvel Heroes was given the green-light by Marvel to make Richard Rider the default Nova.
Yeah, Sam just isn't as cool as Richard.
Jump Festa starts tomorrow, but I'm not sure we can expect anything.

Then again, Marvel still succeeded with Miles & definitely Kamala, so it's not all bad. If Riri will catch on like Miles & Kamala or go the way of Sam remains to be seen, but I'm interested to see how it pans out.

MvC3 had characters announced at CES in 2011, and that's the earliest event. CES is kind of weird though, gaming's presence there is kind of diminished, and I dunno if they'll bring the game there because it's just been announced.
PAX South/Taipei Game Show/RE7 launch are the next logical opportunities, but I wouldn't start counting down the days for any of those. We'll have something around GDC almost certainly, but I figure we'll see something beforehand as well.
Actually, forgot about this as well. I wonder if we'll get something at Winter Brawl?

I hope Riri catches on. I love her design. However, I haven't read any of the books yet. It's hard for me to get into the Iron Man books. I'm more interested in the team, solo meta, street level or magic books.
Riri may be joining the Champions, so you could get your chance to read more about her there.
Maybe just an official Japanese announcement that reiterates on the most recent reveal (and maybe just confirms X's Japanese VA being on board) would be the most I'd expect.
Getting Spider-man's unveiling out of the way sooner, so that we wouldn't have to deal with shenanigans like last time, would just be extra nice.

I want Ms America in either way. She's a well designed character with a powerset that would translate really well (imo) to a fighter and she's one of the more popular new up-and-comers in the Marvel U that Marvel seems at least decently interested in pushing.
I actually liked the whole "Spiderman won't be in MvC3" stuff. It's hilarious in retrospect because it was so obvious he'd be in, but at the same time there were perfectly solid reasons he wouldn't be.

He should have his old moveset back, along with new moves.
I meant old moveset from Marvel Super Heroes.
The whole game seems like it's an Infinity Gauntlet tie in. I'd be surprised if he's not in one way or another.
He needs a boss version with the gauntlet at least
