The more I think on it, the more I'd really love to see Darkhawk show up. His mythology's cropping back up in the GotG comics right away, and the head of Marvel's games division is a fan of his, so who knows?
Not just the head of Marvel Games, several people involved in Marvel television have expressed interest in using the character.

Since we're reusing things, wouldn't we get DMC3 Dante/Vergil again?

I think we're going to see a mix. There's going to be reusing but changes as well to accommodate style change and the new flow of the game. I'd be surprised to see DMC3 dante and vergil again and not their DMC4 looks and such. I don't see anyone being stuck with an older look unless they haven't had a new game. of any sort since the last MVC

Well, I suppose Vergil could come back intact since DMC4 SE Vergil had mostly everything 3 Vergil did but Dante had a completely new moveset in 4.I think they would reuse all those moves from the last game so I'm just wondering if they'd just keep DMC3 as the base character to keep the moveset and version consistent.

I do as others here. But let's face facts. No one wants to mention Dark Phoenix.
Dante is an interesting case here. On one hand they could easily reuse assets for him but on the flipside they normally use the most recent/newest version of him and that will be DMC4 Dante. Who as you noted has a completely different moveset. Also if all the hints are correct, a new Devil May Cry is in development and that is a whole different situation because they may go with that one.

The only reason I could see RE5 Jill coming back is because Wesker comes back as well. I do see her sitting out unless they bring back her old move set.
I do think a lot of the RE characters are sitting at being too similar to one another. Kind of like how punisher and chris were considered too similar. Even though you could easily diversify them. Same with Dante and blade.
oh that's right we don't get assists now and x factor is now called gems. at this point i would rather they just release an update to umvc3 and just added the new characters.

I hope so. I'm not fan of the franchise but I really like their moveset and design.

I hear that Chris doesn't use as many guns this time around, and I'm hoping Capcom did that to further differentiate him from someone like Punisher. I could see Marvel really pushing for Punisher now that he has his own Netflix series.

I feel like Dante is a safe bet for this game, that being said, what version of Dante will say alot about where they're at with Devil May Cry as a franchise. If they just go with Devil May Cry 3 or 4 Dante, it means they might not have anything in the pipleline for the series. If they use DMC Dante, they might be working on DMC2 x_x if they use a never before seen Dante model, Gaf will explode and DMC5 hype will begin.

If Chris is being reworked, I wonder if the other returning characters we're about to see have new movesets too? Isn't Rocket supposed to paired with Groot now?

I expect her being added, at least as DLC, but hopefully we get her MVC2 moveset and her LiN costume.
Didn't they basically do that with DmC Dante in PSASBR?
I wouldn't necessarily call Chris reworked, just... reduced, based on what little I've heard about him.

P5 Phoenix never existed. That costume was made because Playdom couldn't get Namor for their P5 storyline
I'd like for Jill to be more of a combination of her movesets from 2 and 5. Maybe instead of summoning zombies she could summon....traps from the RE1 mansion? I don't know
