I don't think he's on the shortlist, but he probably has a pretty good chance.
Considering Ultron's role in the story, he may have a really good chance actually.

I think basically any character who has been in an MCU film, let alone multiple, has a good shot at inclusion.
Not just because they're mainstream characters the public knows, but because basically every hero and villain in the MCU was also somewhat noteworthy in the comics (Guardians notwithstanding, and even then their movie represented the general resurgence of Cosmic Marvel).
I know a lot of people have complained about the game's roster potentially being heavy on the MCU, but for real, that's an awful hollow complaint when that encompasses ALL OF MARVEL that isn't the X-Men or the F4.
EDIT: So yeah, Vision is reasonably likely, though not necessarily a must-have since he is more of an ensemble character than a solo one.

Yeah, it'd be a missed opportunity if X and Vision didn't have a chance to team up. Similar backgrounds and all that.
Yeah, the MCU is a pretty thorough representation of the Marvel universe, notwithstanding the Fox exclusion.
Even when people complained about "too much Avengers" in MvC3, they don't realize how pretty much 1/4th of the Marvel U were Avengers at one point or another.

Yeah, the irony is that the complaints usually come from people who don't read comics and want to look like they know more than they do.
Don't get me wrong though, if the Fox exclusion is real I think it's a pain in the ass, but Marvel has done an absurdly good job of showing off everything they've got.

Right now Rocket is the only one who has been recast from UMVC3, right?
As of right now there isn't enough to tell me that characters are swapping out VAs en masse for whoever is most current. Rocket could have been recast to his current cartoon VA because his cockney accent in UMVC3 is just too outside his current popular portrayal. Remember, UMVC3 was well before the Guardians movie, and the accent was kind of out of nowhere.

Thor was also recast, now voiced by Travis Willingham (reprising his role from Avengers Assemble).

Hmm. So to me it looks like we're just getting a patchwork of recasts and not. Given the tight turnaround time on the game, I wonder if availability may have played a factor as well.
I definitely agree that Roger Craig Smith isn't voicing Cap because he is also voicing Chris, for what it's worth. I just don't think there's going to always be a hard line for everyone having their most recent VA. I feel like we'll see some recast, some not, and the guiding rule of thumb will end up being "who could we get and what fit best".
It's because they're giving us tidbits now, and we expect more soon. (And neeeeed it.) The hype machine is revving back up.

I honestly didn't know because based on what I heard from the initial trailer, Iron Man didn't sound as...robotic as I'm used to hearing in MVC3. The Proton's Cannon sounded drastically different, but that's to be expected because it's a different game.
Either way, this is exactly what I wanted to hear.
And as I've mentioned before (which also lines up with Roger Craig Smith in MvCI), I'm of the belief that Laura Bailey isn't voicing Chun-Li because she's instead voicing Black Widow. Considering that her own husband (Travis Willingham) is Thor in MvCI, I'd be a bit surprised to see Laura skip out on the game's cast entirely.
Eric Loomis didn't have much of a filter on his voice when Tony had the Iron Man armor on in EMH, so they likely just made MvCI Iron Man closer to that.

By the way, did that one leak list ever make its way to neogaf? The one claiming that Apollo and Miles Edgeworth was in the game. I do believe that leaker got the 4 bars max right.

A. They wouldn't be focusing on dlc characters this early on.
B. They wouldn't be demoing a new stone with a dlc character.
C. We already know all the 2017 dlc will be brand new characters, not veterans like Wolverine and Cyclops.
Just doesn't fit. I'm calling bull.

Replacing Phoenix with Apollo and dlc Edgeworth is actually the most believable part of the leak since that's such a capcom move. This is the same company that didn't include Mega Man in mvc but Zero and Tron Bonne.

I just added all obvious characters to the roster, along with some characters that I do think they may have a shot to getting in, and there are obviously few favorite characters that I'm rooting for.
Obviously, I'm expecting 58-60 as final numbers for the roster in overall. (Including DLC). Right now, I'm putting them up and I'm trying to figure out which characters I should cut since I'm still middle of Process of Elimination.
I'm curious about people's feedbacks on this matters. It's going to be my first and last time I made a roster for MVC.
I'd be too happy with this roster. No way would I get all of those characters that I want haha.
Nina, Doc Ock, Date Masamune, Asura, Songbird...so good.

I think it's unlikely that they'll use cross-franchise (between Marvel and Capcom) alt skins. Godot has nothing that makes him similar to Cyclops. The mask bears a superficial resemblance to Scott's visor, but that's it. And then, having all this detailed info--yet "Winter Soldier" is for a dude with guns. Yeah.

I love your Marvel side. Capcom though Imo too many SF characters, Personally I find Batsu the most boring RS rep, and im not a huge fan of RE in MvC but thats just me. Honestly Id love your roster

4 bars is unusual, but I just don't feel like it's enough.
Guessing the number of super bars would have been unlikely, given 4 is such a weird number, but it just isn't enough of a grand slam to explain away major inconsistencies like naming dlc characters in advertisements that WILL NOT be available this year.

I'm hoping he comes back too. I think his chances are slim, but this game will get a lot of support from me if they bring him back.
Plus DLC opens up more chances for him to get in, so I can't even be mad at DLC announced before launch.
I'd be pretty happy with this. Daredevil, Punisher and Songbird would all be welcome additions to me.

Do people think we'll be getting more character reveals this month? Or even just a proper Rocket trailer? I know we'll get a blowout at E3 but even taking that into account there's not much time to reveal ~15 more characters.
Tough call, but I'd bet any game on XBone that Arthur, Spencer, and Dr Strange make it in, and I'm only slightly less certain about Thanos. I mean, he's the big bad in the MCU, Marvel will want to push him hard.
I think any XMen or FF character is first on the block, including series staples like Doom, Storm, and Magneto.

Here's hoping for Jin's return as well!
It's possible that we get a trailer for R.R. and some "new" characters for Infinite (returning from o3). The new ones for the franchise should be left for E3 to get more hype going IMO.

Aren't we essentially just taking one insiders word over another on that though? Also considering how popular the xmen are even if they're waaaaay off as dlc I can totally see them being name dropped with a "hey they won't be here day but they're coming so buy now!"

Talking about E3, how many characters do you expect to be shown? I personally think that 10 would be a good number (if the roster is mid 30s)
I still remember one representative from Marvel (name's gone) who said at the reveal that "The legacy will not be lost" regarding the questions about the X-Men being left out of the game... sigh, there's always DLC I suppose.
Asura, Gene, Jin Saotome, all great. I would say you're missing Venom, but you've put in two other Spider-Man villains, so that's pretty good.
Overall, a solid roster.
Lol, I wish we were getting Edgeworth, and especially Apollo. Weird that the post talks about the tie in anime, when that aired last year and I'm pretty sure it is not being brought back.

I hope she returns, her role in the comics these last years, being in Apocalypse and added in CoC, aside from being the top requested X-Men female in previous polls and being referenced in Cammy's costume gives me some hope hahah.
