Why are there more than one Marvel vs Capcom Infinite-related subreddit? You guys should probably do something about that soon. Anyways. You might've heard of me by now. Maybe not. GameFAQs has done a great job of modding two of my topics as of late, so I've decided "Hey, reddit doesn't suck, I'll post things there from now on."


So if you want to keep this around for your own records or whatever, here's everything I've leaked up to this point.
Spider-Man
Doctor Octopus
Venom
Songbird
Ms. Marvel
Ant-Man
Rocket (but Groot is now part of his moveset) ✓

Hunter (from Monster Hunter)
Rathalos (though I will admit that this one is shaky because they might've nixed it to only be in the Hunter's moveset for a Hyper because Giants might be done away with as playable, and Rathalos was planned to be part of the Hyper regardless) Note: I haven't heard anything since regarding Rathalos

Captain Commando (I originally heard his placement for launch or as DLC was up in the air a few months back when I leaked him, but he's a launch character now as far as I know since the DLC for Season 1 are only going to be new characters, so this bumps him up to the main roster)

And here are some new drips that I haven't put out there until now.

A few months ago I said that I'd heard that GnG was getting at least one rep, but I wasn't sure who as they didn't divulge to me who in particular. Well I've heard something more concrete about that since and it's actually that both Arthur and Firebrand are returning.

Street Fighter is getting at least one more rep from what I know, from SFV. Yeah yeah, big surprise there. I don't know who though. So don't pester me about it. But if you want my personal guess, I'd say it's Nash since there's a chance that Necalli and Rashid weren't finalized at the time of their decision back then and maybe it factored into their choice of the SFV rep on this and Nash was long decided on. But that's just a theory, not fact. So I'm not saying NASH IS ON MVCI! Just know that SFV is getting a rep, and he might have been their choice since he was the third character revealed for SFV, important to its story, and has a history with MvC (even if MvCI is a soft reboot) so it might've just made sense to them to use him over Necalli and Rashid.

There's a third Darkstalkers rep, but I wasn't told who though (yet). Since MvCI reuses animations, Felicia or Hsien-Ko would be the safe bets. I would honestly assume it's Felicia, since the rating doesn't seem to be as much of an issue due to Jedah being part of the roster. Like the SFV rep, I'm not in the exact know of who this third DS char is, but Felicia would make sense due to animations being done already to use from MvC3, her popularity, and her being the secondary icon of the series next to Morrigan.

On the Marvel side of things, I hope you like there being more than one GotG rep because Star-Lord is on MvCI too.

Doctor Doom, Super Skrull, and Silver Surfer will be part of the roster. I don't know when, but it is a done deal. Last I heard they would be DLC (this was a few months ago though) So they're either all coming in 2018 that means, or Doom and Super Skrull got bumped up to launch and Silver Surfer is one of the 6 new characters as part of Season 1 DLC. This I'm admittedly not sure of. But do keep that in mind.

And X-Men are still up in the air as far as I know if you wanted an update on that. But if they do make launch, expect at least two of them. That much I can say on that end. While I'm not sure who, logically I'd put stock in Wolverine and either Cyclops or Deadpool. But if they don't make the main roster, then I hate to say expect them in 2018, but that's the situation now.

If I hear anything else, I'll make sure to pass it along.

Yeah that for me is the biggest red flag for me. The rest of it as you said is a combo of safe and predictable. That said him saying cap commando might be part of the main roster because "season 1 is likely gonna be all new characters" turns out that latter statement did happen.

Concerning the Marvel side, I'm not too sure about Venom, Doc Ock, or Songbird, but I'm pretty much expecting everyone else he mentioned. But again, that's more of the guy being super-safe about his list.
 
Nash might actually be the worst, most uninteresting Street Fighter character of all time. I wouldn't put it past Capcom to stink up MvCI with his presence.

Yeah I can see 1 of venom or doc ock but not both. Maybe this list is like the second smash 4 leak that had outdated info (chorus kids and chrom) but was accurate at one point in development.
 
You know what? Of all of Marvel's gun totting characters, the Punisher should be in this game, and his movelist be based off his 1993 game from Capcom.

I used to play this back in the day and I loved it. Looking up a movelist on Gamefaqs, seems he had a few neat moves he could pull including a dive kick where his foot is engulfed in blue flames

Seriously, make his movelist based on that game and you got the building blocks of his moveset locked down :P

Bonus points if they keep his 'WAAAA-OOOOOH-WAAAAH' yell too.
 
I don't believe that list, no Daredevil or Punisher would be lame for a base roster.

Rashid, Cammy, Karin or someone else would be a better option for me at least.

Yeah, it's extremely unlikely that Breath of Fire character would make in fighting game, and I already acknowledged that. It wouldn't stop me from dreaming.

Well, the roster I made included 2018 Pass so it's likely that we would see those characters in the game.

I hope she returns, her role in the comics these last years, being in Apocalypse and added in CoC, aside from being the top requested X-Men female in previous polls and being referenced in Cammy's costume gives me some hope hahah.

Yeah, If anything, I would replace Green Goblin with Venom. Also I can't really see us getting a lot of X-Men characters so therefore Psylocke missed the roster.

I could see like 85-90% of his roster being in the game because it's how safe they were.

There's also the fact that BoF has sold better than or on par with (Besides Ghost N Goblins) every single one of those franchises as well.

GnG had gotten mobile games in 2010 and 2011 so I guess you can say it's a zombie series too

Okamiden came out in 2011 same year as mvc3

The other franchises were dead though I agree

Ono was trying to get a Darkstalkers reboot (and there was the legacy collection that was in the works/released), Okami was getting a HD rerelease. Final fight characters are in SF games (pretty much Captian Falcon/Earthbound of Smash series).

My only concern with Gene is he was more relevant in 2011 with psn rerelease being somewhat close MvC3. Now it's been like years... But Capcom hasn't really had that varied of a profile in the past 6 years sadly, unlike before 2011...

At this point the majority of Capcoms franchises can be considered zombie status .
 
That list is obviously fake af but I wouldn't mind Nash. Sonic Booms and teleports are fun. Other SF characters like Rashid would be more interesting, but I wouldn't mind also seeing Nash in there as well. It's been a bit since we had some Sonic Boom users in Mahvel.
 
Yeah I always really liked the idea of Nash in the game as well, he's a really big deal in SFV with a new design/moveset that has strong ties to the early Vs. series.
and I really do not like Rashid or Necalli in the slightest

Fair enough, I suppose. I know for sure by end of August if they haven't confirm any Breath of Fire character then I'm going to campaign for any BOF character to be in the game. Basically I want to organize something so more fans could make the noises! We could try to get them to listen to us since they said they actually listen to the fans for demands for certain characters so we could see if they are willing to give us the bone we want.
 
So, now there's another "leaker" at GF (don't really know if he has give some info before) saying that there's going to be a SFvsX-Men DLC...

I remember reading about that some time ago, but don't know who or what site posted it.

That doesn't sound particularly exciting. X-Men is nice, but more SF would be pretty lame. I'd like to keep SF characters to a minimum.

I think it could go both ways, depending on who they pick for DLC (if this really happens though). Given that it was the first crossover, I see Capcom giving the pack as a reference to that.
 
Am I the only one that wouldn't mind no X-Men characters whatsoever? Actually I would prefer it, it would make room for way better characters.

I think at least Wolverine should make it. I wouldn't be bothered if no X-Men make an appearance, however I do think it'd be a massive missed opportunity.

I honestly would prefer an all X-Men fighting game. Its the only way X-Men characters I care about that aren't from the 90s cartoon have a chance of even making it in a fighting game.

Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, Sent, Phoenix all feel really unique and it'd be a shame to lose them and their movesets. (X-23 I can do without lol) Want at least some of them to come back.
