Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster Discussion Thread

Those combinations would be hype.

I wonder how the fights will take place in story. I'm guessing most of the characters you use will be pre-selected, though it would be nice if you could choose. I have a feeling we'll be fighting a lot of Ultron Drones and infected Asgardians.

The RE mansion/Baker house could be a good stage.

At most, a couple of fights should be the case with random foes IMO.

And about choosing characters, I see that being only between two characters at first and when you progress and gather/meet more allies you can choose from those that already appeared before.

Am I the only one that wouldn't mind no X-Men characters whatsoever? Actually I would prefer it, it would make room for way better characters.

Most likely. No X-Men is a vs game is like no SF in a vs game. The X-Men are the foundation of the vs series. If Marvel wants to fuck over Fox they have a million other avenues to do it, that won't go against their partners best interest.

- Savage Land x Dino Crisis and/or SF4/xT Dino Stage
- Knowhere x Forgotten Worlds
- Murder World x MVC2 Carnival
- Dracula's Castle x Maximoff/Aensland Castle
- Ace Attorney Court x Murdock/Walters Court Case
- Weirdworld x Dragon's Dogma
- Metro City x Hell's Kitchen/Harlem
- Shield Helicarrier/A.I.M. x Dr. Wily's Base

Rival School x Avengers Academy or X-Men mansion (Xavier's school for the gifted youngsters)

Capcom most likely pushed for X-Men in the base roster but as far as we know, they'll come next year...

Maybe a Xavier's school cand be a DLC stage.

Not sure if anyone saw this breakdown: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Z2MmkEwsQI

Pretty interesting stuff.

I had no idea there was a difference in the HUD among the demo builds.

Yeah, I definitely think these builds are likely nothing comparable to the completed game.

Really looking forward to seeing how the game will look down the line.

Looks like the models might being touched up too? Hopefully... I'm really hoping E3 has a new gameplay trailer where the difference is staggering...
It would be great to see improved videos, the gameplay looks like previous Marvel titles but the overall presentation lacks something, kinda bland for me.

The Q-Bee vs Wasp matchup would be fun to see. Art was pretty good

Yeah Guillotine's a good design. She appeared in CoC tie in comic and I thought she was decent.

I only bring this up cuz Night Thrasher also appears and I want him
nightthrasherdisplay.jpg
Crazy dream of mine would be to have Nova back in the default roster, and have a New Warriors themed pack for the show with Night Thrasher and Speedball
Realistically, I'd just get "Squirrel Girl" as the NW rep, even though she's not one

I just want Jin back.
I wonder if Capcom would add the Blodia into his moveset more. I don't think we'd get the same tanky MVC1 Jin Saotome if he returned
Gotta have the Blodia Punch though

I'd rather see Faiza Hussein, aka Excalibur.
She wields Excalibur, and has psionic powers with which she can deconstruct and reassemble non-magical living beings on a cellular level. She once fought and slayed space führer Dracula:

Now, that's a name I haven't heard of since MAA died.
She was so frustrating to fight there. Freaking Triage
. Not sure how they'd make her work besides the typical sword-wielder. Crazy disassembling things would not really work here. I don't really know much about MI-13 though.

That's inaccurate, I believe.

Fox always had TV rights, I believe. But the terms of the deal necessitated they talk to Marvel about what they wanted to do first. Something along those lines.

But I remember over on OT side there being this big deal about how Marvel & Fox needed to have a sit down and rights negotiation over the TV side of things and it came out, before the Legion news first got announced, that Fox never not had TV rights to X-Men and mutants. They always had em. They just... didn't use em for whatever reason.

With Kang the Conquerer being the big bad in Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2, I'd like to see him in MvCi. He has a lot of potential with his time travel powers, being able to summon all kinds of weapons, creatures, people, and other objects from across all of time.

Also, since his license is in a grey area, that could open the floodgates for other Fox properties. I understand he made it into the Avengers cartoon, but apparently they added him in without checking the rights to the character and didn't know he was partially/fully owned by Fox. In this case though, his inclusion was fully intentional and definitely negotiated.

Kang would be so cool, I imagine him summoning a neanderthal to beat up the opponent with his club, fire a blast from a 40th century gun, and then summon a brigade of revolutionary war soldiers to fill the opponent with lead. Or he could summon some golden age heroes/villains like the Whizzer, Bucky, or Arnim-Zola. He could summon the descendents of Marvel heroes and villains. He could also summon copies of himself from different time lines to function like Multiple Man. Sounds like he'd be work-intensive and highly unlikely though, but it would be an amazing inclusion.

I'd imagine that Kang was a situation where Marvel was like "We already used him in the Avengers Assemble cartoon, so whatever".

Speaking of Lego Marvel 2, if Avengers Assemble is any indication, Kang in that game may very well be Tony's descendant instead of Reed's.

Goes to show that the HUD is still far from it's final version if we are seeing these small changes already in between demos. Chances are that when we get to E3 (if the game is there), we'll probably see another small change to it that adds in more details.

New Max video.

I absolutely agree that there should be a 2 player on 2 player mode, like SFxTK. And/or Scramble.

It definitely would be a nice idea if this was actually added in as a side mode. Of course, we can't say for sure yet if we might see a bit more elements form SFxTK that we've seen already, but they can definitely build up from what was done there.

It'll be NRS, so pass on that
Agreed. If it was made by Capcom, I'll be on board. It'd be interesting to see Capcom-designed DC characters. But NRS-designed Marvel characters don't seem appealing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Injustice, I just think having NRS do a MvsDC is a missed opportunity.

Don't be so hard on yourself bud :(
Lol! Mobile typo. Injustice fan*
I'm a much bigger MvC fan though.

@Neoxon I'll take this opportunity to talk about the Kang thing. I don't think they'd even address who he's the descendent of in this game. It wouldn't matter.

Why not just have one made by both?

Ono always said he wanted to see a Marvel Vs DC fighting game.

That would be a dream.

I remember when Niitsuma said he wanted to do a 3 way crossover. Imagine a Capcom/Marvel/DC fighting game.

Oh, I know. I just feel like Capcom would be kinda unsure about another crossover like that. Unless NRS did DCvM first and that did well.
No, Capcom wouldn't really be the initiator of such a project. Both Marvel and WB would have to reach out, and be willing investors for a project like this to get greenlit. It's not a risk, when none of your own IPs are involved. They wouldn't be fronting money for a completely third party crossover.

That is very true. Fuck it. Let's get hype on the non-existing train.

DCvM 2018!

Honestly I can't imagine Marvel not being onboard a DCvM project by NRS. It'll easily be the best selling traditional fighting game of all time. Hell I'd by a copy just for the story mode

It's funny. Some days I really want to see Doc Ock, but then there are days where I'd rather see Green Goblin. I personally would be happy if either are included, but I think the game definitely needs a Spidey villain sans Venom. Venom being in the game would be great; I just don't want his inclusion to prevent another Spidey rep from making the roster.

You get your Green Goblin wish but it's just that giant Hulk/Etrigan design instead

I wonder which build will be at E3. I assume the build used to capture footage for the last trailer (and likely the one press played) was several months old by the time it was used.
