Frank West was suppose to be in MVC3 but he got delayed due to time constraints awhile Doctor Oct was removed due to technical issues.

Also Niitsuma on Doctor Octopus

Speaking of characters that didn't make the cut, the biggest one of all was a certain enemy of Spider-Man's who has a bunch of arms coming out of his back.

He wasn't just a candidate, we worked on him for a very long time. He even has character art and a theme song we had to cut from the game.

I'm still inclined to believe that while Marvel isn't explicitly excluding Xmen characters, they're either demanding too high a price for their rights or kicking Capcom some money for characters they own the full IP to. Capcom seems so hard on for cash these days it wouldn't come as a surprise to me that they'd take every dollar they can get.

Getting She-Hulk in the game would help considerably on selling me on it.

That means I'd finally be able to get Gamora + She-Hulk and have an all-green,all-female team.

Ms Marvel for real and I'd probably take Songbird or America Chavez over She Hulk.

Literally the inclusion of Ms Marvel and any other marvel female would make me absolutely ok with the rumored leak roster.

Did somebody else notice that Captain Marvel super (1 bar hyper beam), its weird animated? like its enter without nothing. I don't know how to explain it.

In the mvc series when you do a super you get a close up in the background focusing on the model of the character doing the animation with crazy effects and over-the top colors, but without loosing the camera angle too much and always letting you know where are both players characters

I don't know if i'm explained well. But looking at the Keits matchups videos you can take the idea. But maybe its just me

I would love to see any of those characters. I could see Songbird and Ms. Marvel having a lot of potentials with their movesets.

Then how does that explain how every single post-CoC game left out the X-Men until recently? Was the fee a million dollars or something? As mentioned before, Capcom can't really throw Marvel under the bus. And both sides have lied in their PR before.

Why would you give Capcom the benefit of the doubt on this one? They couldn't even make a Street Fighter 5 without money kicked in from Sony. Marvel's pushing Xmen stuff on the comic side and other current games have come out with Xmen in it so they're not trying to sink the Xmen brand, they're just not focused on it since they can't take full multi-media advantage of it.

Both marvel and capcom are businesses and businesses are about money. If Marvel wants to promote their IP brand by rewarding use of non-xmen characters, I think it's incredibly likely Capcom takes those easy bucks. Especially current day capcom.

Yes, other post-CoC mobile games just recently were given the okay to use the X-Men (& so far, only Future Fight acted on it, with rumors of Avengers Academy following suit). I'm giving Capcom the benefit of the doubt because the Fox ban fucked everyone (who made their games after CoC) up, even Lego Marvel 2. Marvel's change-of-heart happened recently, too recently for the base rosters of either MvCI or Lego Marvel 2. So let me ask you, what's TT's excuse for no X-Men/F4 in Lego Marvel 2 if you're so convinced that this is Capcom's fault?

Also, SFV would have happened regardless. All Sony did was speed up the process.

Because whatever deal Warner Bros signed to use a package of marvel characters didn't include them and no one at Warner Bros cared enough about the Xmen (or thought they were worth that much to their customer base) to bid up on a package that included them.

"Fox Ban" just sounds kind of absurdly petty and conspiracy-theoryish for a huge corporation. Especially one that still makes money on and pushes several active line of xmen comics.

It's not conspiracy-theorish, they don't have the licensing rights for merchandise for the Fox movies, and thus make a whole lot less money when they promote the X-Men instead of the MCU characters!
 
The fact that the X-Men were just added to Future Fight tells me that this is beyond Capcom.

People were complaining about no X-Men presence there for awhile and they were only able to add them recently. Things like Sigma being made into DLC makes you question a lot of Capcom's decisions, but the writing was on the wall about the X-Men/F4 well before this game even came out.

I thought they DID have the merchandising rights to the X-Men. AFAIK, Marvel has complete and total control when it comes to merchandising and video game licenses.

Which is why when the licensing deals get made, they would demand more money for their use since it synergizes less into their brand.

Yeah it's pretty telling when even the early fake leaks excluded them outside of DLC stuff because it was already established what Marvel's MO was. It was kind of funny how threads here and in OT started popping up because more casual fans were just learning about it.

I remember reading a few years ago, that any movie merchandise has to be approved by Marvel and goes through them. It also explains why there really hasn't been too much X-Men/FF merchandise on store shelves. I want to say the last X-Men movie that had actual merchandise, figures, et al., was Wolverine Origins.

They do, they just refuse to do anything that even remotely promotes Fox movies. Until recently, they've been actively trying to devalue the X and F4 brands to the point that Fox would have no other choice but to sell their film rights, but i believe they've either given up on that or finally come to a deal with Fox.

Or the fact that FF characters were literally the center piece of Marvel's whole recent reboot.

I strongly believe Fox is holding tight to see how the Spiderman Homecoming experiment works out for Sony. And when that makes a billion, they'll start conversations with Marvel to get at LEAST Fantastic Four into the MCU, if not the X-Men as well.


F4 is legit useless in Fox's hands right now.

Capcpom has literally no reason to do anything like this, X-Men characters have been considered mainstays for the MvC games. If anything, they probably fought for them.

I love hating on Capcpom as much as the next person but let's try to be a bit realistic here.
