This is probably it. Next trailer will show off 6 characters, which is about right for a gameplay trailer. Makes sense for them to save the story trailer too. First story trailer was just an introduction to the story mode, while the second went over the 3rd and 4th locations, and the third will go over the 5th and 6th gem locations.

I'm also open to the possibility that Ant-Man might be base and Venom is currently an NPC, to be DLC down the line, but that seems a little bit less likely. Just seems like something to consider given SaikyoBro's confidence in Ant-Man being base and Venom originally being rumoured for DLC. Alas, things
and gems
change during development.
With 4 "completely" (GG is totally one, tho maybe not this season) unknown slots, he could easily be one of the two Marvel reps.

Is the only thing going for Lady that they removed Lady-related moves for Dante?

Eh.

I hate being reminded firebrand is in this game.

I mean people thought Antman would be in the game because they removed his super from Hawkeye's. Same exact logic being used here only it's way more obvious with Dante.

They didn't just remove his moves, they removed Lady's signature weapon from Dante.

Haggar looking veiny as hell in Marvel Infinite. All the time spent chasing Magnetos in Marvel 3 cut down his body fat dramatically.

No Lets Go Crazy! Spider-Man deserves easily 5-7 slots for his pals and villains. Its about time.

Maybe 5, but you said the same as Batman
Batman had 9 characters at launch in Injustice 2.

Batman
Robin
Poison Ivy
Scarecrow
Bane
Deadshot
Harley
Joker
Catwoman

As much as I love Spider-man's characters and would totally go for something like

Spider-man
Venom/AntiVenom
Green Goblin/Hobgoblin
Doctor Octopus
Mysterio
Prowler
Shocker
Scorpion
and Sandman I guess

its a bit too much

Well, I suppose it depends on how many other DLC seasons we get.

*googles Lady* Dante had a.. bazooka with a bayonet on the end of it?

I guess that's fair.

So, all things considered, we're most likely looking at:

Black Panther
Ant-Man
Green Goblin/The Winter Soldier

Sigma
Lady
???

Asura fans praying ATM.

You could easily trim Spidey's list after Mysterio, those last 4 would be excesive.

That's so weird that you would use Ant-Man as an example when Ant-Man himself was implied to be in the game by two journalists and Ryce's leak.

Polygon said Ant-Man was going to be in the game way back in December didn't they?

I remember

Ant Man and Rocket & Groot being listed

I re read the article just now I don't think they were saying he was in the game just that you should expect MCU characters like him.

Who were the most requested female characters back in the day?
Someone else posted a much better summary of poll results (there's been so many over the years it's hard to keep track or pick a definitive survey) a few weeks ago but based on GameFAQs, Capcom-Unity, and Pixiv polls, seems like Ms. Marvel and Psylocke by far, and then also Squirrel Girl, Songbird, Tessa (Japan), but those had far less votes. Generally, not many votes for female characters.

Ms. Marvel refers to Carol Danvers at the time, not Kamala Khan.

Definitely Psylocke but I could check around.

From various polls
Psylocke
Armor
Captain Marvel/Ms. Marvel (Carol)
Squirrel Girl
Emma Frost
Songbird
Rogue
Black Cat
Nico Minoru
Hope Summers
Dagger

Juri Han
BOF Nina
Tessa
Roll
Cammy
BBHood
Regina
Harp Note
Kirin Armor
Saki Omokane
Akira
Tsurihime (Sengoku Basara)

Am I just blind, or does this game look much better than MvC3 visually? I've seen nothing but negativity since it's initial showing, but have yet to understand. Some faces are artistically bad, but that's such a small issue in a game where I can barely see their faces while playing anyway. This was the best place to ask, considering a thread specifically about this would turn into a dumpster fire, and I couldn't find any other relevant thread on the subject.

Most people think it's the worst looking game ever made by man.

Some believe it looks okay.

Just one of those things. I personally don't care anymore. I just want to play the game.

It's technically better than Marvel 3 (better textures and polygons) but worse artistically.

yes, you are in fact blind.

Somethings do look better and some don't. Game is missing a lot of polish which hopefully day 1 patch will add.

I mean, you're going to see them A LOT in Story Mode :P

But yeah, it's as others said. At least Capcom promised to polish it day 1

Seeing Nemesis has the ability to poison people has me conflicted

On the one hand, Wesker SHOULD have been day 1 and played a large role in the story, it's garbage he's gonna be dlc and have no bad ass story scenes.

On the other hand, yeah Nemesis poison is a really cool mechanic that I can see helping him feel really unique

The game benefits from being made with much more powerful platforms in mind so poly counts, pixel counts, and lighting techniques are much more advanced. However many people find the "artstyle" (duller colours, pseudo-realistic, weird proportions) much less pleasing than Marvel 3, in addition to many questionable choices in regards to aesthetics such as the over use of chromatic aberration, the toned down effects with regards to special moves and the missing effects that impact the tone of the characters (see Morrigan's win pose).

This is paired with some unfortunate modelling and lighting choices, the seeming lack of art assets that aren't 3D renders, and clunky and generic UI leaves some disparaging the visuals of the game.

In my opinion, if Marvel 3 were made with currently existing tech in mind it would look much better than Infinite, but that's neither here nor there.

Thank God Capcom's fixing the graphics on day one. The damage is still mostly done, but the few people still on the ropes can be swayed.

If they can find a way to just add two characters, one of which X-Men (Vergil and Wolverine are prob the best choices), they can get back a lot of the guys they lost to the pre-launch negativity.

The problem with day one patch is sometime it wasn't ready for reviewers to review their contents so they really need to get those patches ready for those reviewers if they want good reviews about those models, etc.

Those patches aren't necessarily released on day one, that just means they're available at or before official launch.

SFV's day one patch was out when review copies were sent out a week before launch.

While the patch will be day one. They should have it up before then. At this point the game should mostly be complete with mainly just bug fixing now. Though that's not factoring how they have their teams or anything set.

I fully expect that we'll see a launch trailer if not something before that'll have these changes, if they're of course not lyin

When reviews are aware there's a Day 1 patch coming, they're usually more lenient about things that those patches are addressing, I find.

I doubt it's anything drastic enough to change the general impression of the look of the game, though. Their choice of style means they'll always be tussling with characters that weren't meant to be portrayed realistically being so and the downsides of that.
