Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

I want Rashid to be the 3rd Capcom DLC fighter now. He's the best new character from SFV, amazing theme, and putting him in now will get some of the necessary Street Fighter representation out of the way.

By the way, why is no one suspecting Grandmaster Meio to be a playable character? Was he confirmed as an NPC and I missed it?

Rashid's theme would've been good if it were actually like techno or electric and not whatever the fuck you call what it is now.

Whatever it is now sounds fantastic.

when is Gamescom? next week? I dont actually know the dates.

Kk we can shit on MvC2 soundtrack all day... but This Is a True Love We're Making is real quality, just like X-23's theme and yes, Rashid's theme.

They're so bad they loop around to being amazing. Like Fast and Furious.

Next someone is gonna say Jazzy NYC 99 is a bad song. All of the songs mentioned in this post should be in MvCI.

Side note:
Morrigan's theme is most underappreciated of all the versus series.

Jazzy NYC 99 and Morrigan's VHun theme (her VSav theme is kinda forgettable) are actually pretty good.

Though tbh I prefer 3SOE's version of Jazzy NYC.

MvC2 and CvS2 are both great examples of why Capcom should always make character themes and never try to force stage themes down our throats. SFV and a bit of SFIV are the only Capcom fighters with stage themes that actually stand up to the character themes.

That's just an inferior version of her decent VSav theme.

Now that I think about it, VSav really did screw up on the musical department. The intro theme is the only one I can think of that's inarguably better than VHun's. Otherwise, the older themes knocked it out of the park.

is that what that's supposed to be? i don't really hear anything similar in terms of composition besides the instrument for the melody

People hate MvC2 soundtrack? Take you for a ride? or the Iconic Jazz tunes that i will recognize anywhere the moment I hear it unlike most games? people hate them?

They are easily recognizable but they are a poor fit to the VS games. They stick out like a sore thumb.

Like no surprise people mod over the music in MVC2 in the Dreamcast.

X Men animated series theme song on the character select screen of MVC2 just feels right.

Marvel vs Street Fighter had the best character select Soundtrack IMO.

You're right. I should stop posting at 2AM lol. The two themes seem to be completely unique. Still not a big fan of either, though.

MvC2 has the most forgettable MvC soundtrack imo. Sometimes I play it, hear the themes, and think "this is supposed to get me hyped up to fight?".

XvSF, MvC1, and MvC3 have the best (slight edge to the former in most cases). I'm just not sure whether MvCI will outdo MvC2's OST shittyness or not. Have to hear more themes to be sure.

Mvc 1 theme feels like the zaniness when you mash up both for a crossover they need to bring that one back. CVS 1 and CVS 2 have GOAT Character select though.

This is the best VS game soundtrack IMO.

it annoys me that Gamescom is in Germany so people like Max wont be attending, because if Jedah/Firebrand/Dormammu/Ghost Rider are indeed "revealed" there, I need someone, anyone, to ask them on camera "Is this the final base roster?"
Maybe we can convince Max to hop on a plane to do some research for us? What do ya say Dood?

I didn't like it at first but eventually I grew to love the MvC2 soundtrack. I've had it on my phone for 6+ years and listen to it at least once a month.

its just so fun to beat this dead horse

Honestly this just reminds me of an edit of Dante's render where someone added a simple shadow over his eyes which made it look at least ten times better

Half of the reason the MvCI renders look so bad is shitty lighting alone

Come on, man. Really - which The Elder Scrolls race is that last pic of "Chris" in homage to?

I kid, I kid. That Redfield isn't even Redguard.

For shits and giggles I just decided to throw some generic shadows on top of the Chris shot

Someone could probably do a much better job than me. I'm not super good at this stuff yet but I figured it'd be interesting to try.

Does his unibrow fully converge when he gets 7 bars?

Yes. It's an absolutely awful soundtrack for a fighting game.

There's nothing iconic about the jazz tunes other than that they're only remembered because of how terribly out of place they are.

Look at something like X-Men vs. SF for a soundtrack that fit the game, especially the character select music, although a bit repetitive itself.

And Vanessa from P.N.03. And a BoF rep. And a Rival Schools rep. And an Onimusha rep. (And Regina.)

But these are dead franchises (isn't G&G as well?).

GnG may be dead, but the series was one of the major recognizable IPs for Capcom early on, so it arguably has more history and impact than a one-off like PN.03 or even something like Rival Schools with more niche appeal when Capcom was pumping out a lot more series. Onimusha has a bit more significance in that regard, though.
